Yes! Dr. Robert Jeffress issues a bold wakeup call to all believers–from college students to grandparents–to stop apologizing for and start proclaiming the tough but essential truths that Christians have historically embraced. And he provides the finest biblical, scientific, and historical evidence needed to defend these core beliefs in a culture turned hostile to God's truth.Dr. Jeffress believes the secular spirit of political correctness is holding the church hostage. And the tragic result is that the revolutionary, life-changing, positive message of the Christian faith is being watered down.If you are weary of a Christianity that waffles and wavers about controversial issues–if you are ready to stand up and compassionately yet forcefully and intelligently say, “This is what I believe and here’s why”–then this book is for you!...

Jesus managed to annoy a frightful load of people with His politically and religiously incorrect teaching. Christianity is still incorrect with its teachings and doctrines, as evidenced by its being the most persecuted religion on Earth. Here are 7 of them.1 every other religion is wrong2 God is ultimately responsible for suffering3 God sends good people to Hell4 homosexuality is a perversion5 husbands are the leaders of their families6 evolution is a myth7 America is a Christian nationAnd lastly how to be a velvet covered brick. How to stand for truth without driving away the one you are trying to enlighten. How to convince you hearer that he is not a loser for losing the argument, but to keep him interested in learning more, and not stomp off.

I'll have to give Pastor Jeffress credit for a gutsy cover-jacket. I carried my book around like it was a Playboy. I was afraid that someone would see it and take offense before I had a chance to digest his solid arguments based on orthodox Christian belief, grounded on Scripture. Scripture surely teaches that the way to heaven is through the atoning sacrifice of Christ Jesus. Jeffress merely affirms this.... in a winsome way. Thank the Lord for His great love! When confronted with this Truth, the non-believer either a. ignores it b. calls it (or us) crazy c. denies it d. is offended or e. is transformed. An analogy that stuck with me is that if after a bus crash if there were only one exit out of the burning vehicle, you not only would want to direct your fellow passengers to the one exit that would lead to safety, but it would be your DUTY to do so. It would be the right thing to do. In a way, we are all headed for a fatal crash. None of us, because of sin can approach a Holy and sinless God. But because God so loved us, he made a way... a way unto eternal life. So we tell others. We should be wise in how we do so.... read the Pastor's excellent last chapter entitled "Becoming a Velvet-Covered Brick"..... but love demands that we share. But be prepared.... we are an offense to many people. We are often despised. One review of this book said of Pastor Jeffress...."[he is]no different than Islamic fundamentalists who fly planes into buildings." Wow. I had someone close to me accuse me of being judgmental because I take scripture seriously. It can hurt.Still, love sacrifices.

two stars because the chapter on women and submission was OK if you read it all. The problem I have is most people will see submission of women as total to all men - he clearly says that it is only with spouses, spouses must model respect to get it and women can be CEOs and all else as this is not their husband they are submitting. I'll just end with my impression of the US being a Christian nation. I will always agree that the founding fathers used the best of the Judo-Christian laws to create a secular government. It is hard to believe that We the People are Christian or any other religion when the word God is in the Constitution of the United States of American exactly zero (0) as with Christ and Jesus. In the Bill of rights they also get a zero (0).The word religious is used in the Article 6 when talking about "but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." Seems pretty straight forward that our country will allow any people's religious/nonreligious view to serve our country.I take pundits with a really large grain of salt on everything when they want to interject a theocracy into my country. I am Christian but want my country to be secular.

WOW! This was an amazing book. I took pages of notes and plan on buying it and reading it again with a highlighter! Yes, it was THAT good!Pastor Jeffress lays out seven truths that Christians today can still (and should emphatically) believe in. He doesn't beat you over the head with it though, He just lays it all out with scripture, quotes, statistics and more. And asks TONS of questions. He lays everything out for you, asks serious questions and then sits back and lets you find out HOW and WHAT you truly believe on your own. He is there to guide you down the right path, but at no time did I feel like I was being brow-beaten. You will either love this book and what it has to say (even if it says things that are hard to hear and makes you re-evaluate what you "thought" you believed) -OR- you will reject all that you just read and hate the book. Its that kind of read.I hope that all the chose to read this book do so with an open mind. Its very thought provoking and I promise you, you will learn so much from it!!I for sure did. And I truly hope that I will be a better Christian because of it.

This is a wonderful book with great insight to the Christian faith. I have been a Christian most of my life and while I read this book I had a light bulb go off several times. "So this is what my pastor meant when he said that" sort of moments. I'd encourage others to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help reveal what needs to be received as they read this book. Pastor Jeffress uses solid descriptions and helps paint out what he is saying in stories, personal examples, and events we are seeing today in America. He did not distort the writings of Christ (which is something I personally watched for) and when I felt uneasy about a few things I realized it was because of something I had believed all my life.

Horrible, inaccurate, and disgusting. This man is no different than Islamic fundamentalists who fly planes into buildings. I was wrong he is different in that he spits on the good news of Jesus Christ.
