Fast Facts about the 50 States, Plus Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. Reviews
"Fast Facts About the 50 States" is another book that doesn't tell a story but has pages of pictures and is crammed with a lot of interesting and sometimes crazy facts and information about all 50 states and Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. It is alphabetical so you can read all of it like I did or just go through and pick certain states. I read it all but after I went it through it and looked at my own state and other states I have been to on different trips. My parents bought it for me. When they gave it to me to read, I thought it would be silly but then after I read about my own state and started reading the facts about other states I've been to then I wanted to just keep reading it to what other interesting things were there about other places including some pretty crazy stuff. Everybody should know that Idaho is the home of the world's largest potato chip.I recommend it if you like just facts and lists and reading different trivia. It's fun and you can read it pretty easily and quickly.
Summary: This book conntains facts about all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. The facts aren't just “the state capitol of North Carolina is Raleigh” they are interesting facts that you never would of known. All the facts were mailed to the author and then the author picked the top ten facts for each state but, the cool thing is all the facts were from librarians from each state. Recommendation: I would recommend this book to people who want to learn state facts but in a fun way. Also this book is great just for a quick look up.
Being a lover of interesting facts about states, I found this one quite intriguing. Quick facts like the capital, highest/lowest points in the state and largest city are but a small portion of each state's focus. Unique facets about each state encompasses the rest of the two page spread, making it a great book to bring along on family road trips during the summer.
They're so random!
This was a great book. It had tons of informative but also quirky fun facts. I enjoyed it as a fast quick read. I was one of my first non-fiction books of 2011.
