Well, most of us have heard of the Illuminati, but how many know of the Ingenii? This is a secret and most powerful linage of gene mutated humans. Their dynasty is a legend and it continues on in Bloodpledge. A most enduring family has been gifted this nectar from a Celtic witch centuries ago which has the power to stop the aging process but must be used most delicately as rebel vamps are out to get their hands on it. This novel is a gem in that is has an awesome plot but gives you in-depth information on the unique characters who come from a real time period. You will follow the lives of Laura Dantonville and her family of high prestige in the Vamp world where evil ones will die to possess her and her blood. Her character will evolve deeper as she is undergoing a transformation even she does not yet quite understand. The passion really heats up as she and Alec Munro are on their destined course of where fate wants them to be, if only an old boyfriend and the rebels will stay out of their way. This is the third novel in the Dantonville Legacy and am waiting for my next fix in this gripping series.

Its not a bad novel. I kinda got lost in the begining because it was the second book in the series. I won this as a giveaway. It does help that you read the first book before this one lol.Laura was an ok heroine. I loved that she wanted to turn badass in the end. I thought her relationship with Alec was sweet.Won this as a giveaway.

Bloodpledge is the second book in the The Dantonville Legacy. Even though it’s necessary to read the first book in the series, Bloodgifted, before delving into this one, Lacoba does an excellent job of reminding us absent-minded readers of all the essential details. I appreciate that Bloodpledge, like Bloodgifted, is a story in and of itself with a definite ending, although I’m still hanging on tender hooks waiting for the conclusion of the tale in the final book. This series really has it all. There’s interesting history, lots of action, suspense, intrigue and romance. There are even some (tasteful) sex scenes thrown in. I’m not usually a fan of vampires, but Lacoba has made the history around the creation of vampires so believable and interesting that I couldn’t help myself with enjoying the read. Sometimes Laura gets on my nerves a bit. In one moment she’s ready to sacrifice herself to save her friends and in the next she’s running headlong into danger that will risk her friends. Her relationship with her mother is also a bit strange/unnatural. The other characters are lots of fun. I can’t wait until Lacoba gives us a book for each of them! Although she can skip a book for Matt, his jealousy and pig-headedness is becoming really annoying.I recommend this book to everyone – a great read!

This book continues from the events of Bloodgifted, which is the first book in the series. Tensions are running high amongst the vampire community (the Brethren) in Sydney. They are at the edge of war. Allegiances are bring tested and no one can be trusted. Amongst this, Laura and Alec must develop their relationship and try to survive. It is an amazing read. I was privileged enough to have received a copy of the book to read before it's release. I read it in less than a week. I could not put it down because every page has a plot twist. I loved it and cannot wait to keep reading on in this series.

I loved the special bond between Alec and Laura, their love is a bonded friendship that we all would hope to have with our partner. Amazing!

Like Bloodgifted, Bloodpledge book is an exceptional read that is beyond the normal vampire read. It didn't not disappoint. It stopped off exact ally were the other book finished and kept you on the edge of the seat! Actually the excitement grows stronger in the series. Laura Dantonville Revelations everything that she new to be true is in fact a lie is her reality. Her life begins a roller coaster of adventure! This adventure steps right back in and begins deeper into plots and twist you would not expect! Can her Human world mix into her Vampire world or will one overpower the other? The twist keep coming and excitement builds in this book! Wow! Can't wait for the next!BloodPledge allows you to see the love that you're so desiring between Alec and Laura nurture and grow. Will Matt change that? We will see. Bloodpledge is very well written with descriptive detail as the same as her other books. In my opinion this allows you to visualize scenes with impeccable depths. I was extremely amazed by this because often the author tends to get to wordy on the description and lose the reader in to much detail. Tima has learned a great balance of detail but given you the adventure and excitement that keeps you on edge. Well done Tima you really knocked it out of the ball park yet again!!! I will be reading this entire series!

I've been waiting on this book for a while now, and it was worth the wait in the end! I'm still loving how the characters are written and how (yes there are a lot to keep track of) BUT ......and this a big BUT ........ they each have their own personality and attitude. Alec and Laura are still fighting things far more than Laura ever thought she would be facing in her lifetime. But instead of sitting back and taking it, she steps up and surprises everyone by wanting to learn how to defend herself. There towards the end I was worried bout Alec. But he pulled through and was able to deal a final blow. So far I'm still loving this series and I can't wait till the next book to see how everything will turn out for everyone.Till next time - Sweets Books

Keeps getting betterIt gets even better. Some of the Immortals have planned a rebellion which gains leverage after they find out about the Bloodvault where Luc has stored the first blood. Alec, Luc and the rest of the boys must fight Rasputin and Timur to keep Laura safe and qwell the rebellion. When the first book in a series is as good as Bloodgifted, you don't expect it to get any better...........But this proved me wrong.

Hot damn I love this book!Bloodpledge book 2 in this series and I still can't get enough! The story continues from book one this time with the possibility of vampire umm Brethren civil war! The action and suspense build wonderfully and along with awesome characters, I found myself captivated and didn't want to put it down. I especially enjoyed the developing bond not just between Alec and Laura but Laura's relationship with her Parents.. (Mum and Papa). I definitely can't wait to read the next book in the Dantonville Legacy series.Highly recommend to all fans of the paranormal genre, but start with book 1 Bloodgifted and enjoy the journey with Alec and Laura from the start!

After I read the first book, I had to order the second one. I love paperbacks and soon I will have the whole set. The main character, Laura, is likable and not helpless as in some paranormal books. She has a mind of her own, as we saw in first book when she chose Alex over Matt. I would pick Alec over Matt in a second. Alec treats Laura like a precious commodity. He worries about her safety and her comfort. She is loved by her adopted parents and her birth parents. Her best friend sticks beside her during all the vampire attacks. Laura is one lucky girl.I'm ready for book 3.

This book took me awhile to read but I'm glad I stuck with it. The beginning was a little slow for me but the exciting ending made up for it. Alec's and Laura's journey continues in this second book. They face greater odds and more than just their lives are at stake. I enjoyed the twists and turns that the book took. It was great to see all the interactions with the various characters. The ending left me breathless and I can't wait to see what happens from here.

Jane Hunt Writer First StepsJane Hunt Writer Book Reviews FacebookJane Hunt Writer Book Reviews Google+I read 'Bloodpledge 'in a couple of days. My first thoughts are exciting, enthralling and nail biting. I love the originality of the story, which continues chronologically from 'Bloodgifted.'Laura's independence and courage develop despite her human fears, as she moves closer to her destiny. Alec is the vampire with a conscience who is determined to fight against needless killing of humanity but willing to kill without mercy anyone who threatens Laura or the 'Brethren' community under his care. Bloodpledge explores the bond between Marcus and his men in greater detail and lends an interesting historical perspective to this fast paced urban gothic tale. Aside from the civil unrest within the 'Brethren' the clash of paranormal and human worlds also causes problems for Laura and her family. The Australian setting is unusual and captivating. An enticing blend of action and historical detail, layered with paranormal legend and passionate romance. The first person style of writing from Alec and Laura's point of view gives the reader an immediate insight into their feelings and builds empathy. The puzzle of the witch's curse is an overriding theme of the story. Bloodpledge reveals more pieces but the mystery remains. I look forward to the next chapter of the Dantonville Legacy.Tima Maria Lacoba

I liked the first book in this series and this second one picks up right where it left off in the first one and didn't disappoint. Laura is still trying to settle into her new life after finding out about her true heritage. She is an Ingenii as well as being part vampire. She now resides with her father Luc and her mother Judy who is an Ingenii too. Alec is the Primate who leads his Brethrens. He needs Laura's blood so that he can stay stronger and walk during daytime, unlike his fellow Brethrens. Only the blood of an Ingenii has that potency and in Laura's case is also poisonous to others due to her being part vampire. There is another reason why her blood is not lethal to Alec but this is a guarded secret, divulged only to those closest to the family. Alec's and Laura's love for each other is now stronger than ever and just when the Bloodpledge is due to take place, the rebels strike. Whist Alec and his men are against killing, there are those who wish to do as they please to the humans. These enemies are ruthless and would stop at nothing to capture Laura. With all the actions and suspense, I found it hard to put the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this second book and would recommend to those who like reading the paranormal with plenty of danger, suspense and love.

Exciting new vampire seriesBloodpledge is the 2nd in the Dantonville Series and the first one I have had the pleasure to read. Although a continuation of Bloodgifted, it does make a fine stand-alone novel. It has been a couple of years since I last read a vampire novel after they reached saturation point and it was nice to come back to the genre.Set in the sunny climate of Sydney Harbour, Australia, Bloodpledge offers some originality to the popular genre and the use of the Ingenii powers offers a refreshing twist into the mix. I enjoyed the history of the vampires and believe there would be more about their origins in the other books in the series. It took me a while to get into the start of the novel, for the action is slow to take off, but it does build nicely to a thrilling conclusion. There were a couple of points that jarred with me, such as ancient vampires speaking in such modern language and also being written in the first person from two points of view.Overall I found Bloodpledge enjoyable to read and would definitely recommend it to fans of the paranormal genre. It was well edited and easy to follow.Note: I was fortunate to win this book in a competition, along with a beautiful silver locket. My opinions are, as always, my own.

The second book in the series picked up right where the previous one left off. It's one twist and turn after another, with plenty of romance and angst. I actually had to wait to read the last half because I knew I'd want to read it all at once. A well-written vampire novel with some interesting twists, I found myself more involved in where things were going to go than I had been in the first. I was glad to see Laura starting to kick butt rather than just waiting for Alec to rescue her, and I can't wait to see what comes next. I'll be adding the paperbacks to my wish list.On a humorous note, it took me partway through the first one to get used to some of the Australian slang and formatting, but the only thing that threw me this time actually made me laugh. I had to stop and think about why the characters thought it was weird to wear a long coat at Christmas...then I remembered that it's summer.

I fell in love with this series after I read Laura's Locket and Bloodgifted. Tina Maria is an awesome paranormal writer and has become one of my favorite writers of vampire books. Before beginning Bloodpledge I did a quick read of Bloodgifted to refresh my memory. Bloodpledge is another amazing read, and continues where Bloodgifted left off. I can't wait for the next book. Tina Maria's talent leads to great descriptions of the events that are taking place during the story, I had a clear picture of exactly what was happening and why. We get to see how she brings the characters that were more in the background to the major roles they play in this book. Tina Maria has also introduced some new characters that are integral to the development of this book. If you haven't read Bloodgifted get it now and read it now so that you can continue the series with this great read. I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series.

Lacoba has done it again! She's managed to spin a unique vampiracal tale with maximum tension and minimum "Twilight"! I read this book in two sittings.I LOVE the character of Alec. He's a predator. A carnivore. Yet, he's tender and protective of those he loves. Should you cross him, he'll give you no quarter. I am beginning to like Laura more now that she's not only embracing who she is and where she came from but she's learning to defend herself. It was understandable in the first book that she was foundering and confused and it endeared the reader to her. Now, she's got knves and the need to defend those SHE loves. She's becoming a badass. I hope that continues. This is HIGHLY recommended but do start with the first in the series, Bloodgifted. You won't regret it.

Read Bloodgifted first. This is the 2nd book in the series. You'll enjoy reading this book more if you've had an opportunity to read Bloodgifted first. I love books that grab me and keep me through the whole story. This is one of them. The only thing I dislike is having to wait for the next book.

This series is soon good. I love the back story of how vampires came to be. And I love how all the characters came together through friendship, loyalty, and love. The love story was also my favorite. I hate books where the main character fights to not be in love with her so-called "enemy". I don't care if it's not realistic. Duh, people! And vampires are realistic? Reading is a gateway away from my mundane life. If I wanted something realistic, I would stick to non-fictions. As long as it can be explained, I believe a good story can get away with anything. If Laura became more of a warrior to fight along side her family, it would have made my day, MORE. Thank you Ms. Tima for your talent and creativity. Keep it up.
