    Holy hell! This book was fantastic! I had never heard of S. T. Abby before now, but she has blown me away with this book. This is one twisted and fascinating story. I will be one-clicking her releases from this point forward.The first in a series of five serials, 'The Risk' was suspenseful and utterly addicting. I could not put this super short book down. Once you've finished the first one, you're going to want to delve into the next book immediately. Luckily, the entire series has been released, so you don't have to live with the anxious anticipation for long.Logan Bennett is a very successful FBI criminal profiler. His team is the FBI's "dream team" of sorts. They get assigned the toughest cases, tracking down and capturing the country's worst murderers. He is the quintessential "good guy" and a real-life hero.Lana Myers is his polar opposite. Her life experiences have taught her that good does not always prevail. She is no longer a young girl with illusions of a criminal justice system that is fair and just. She knows all to well that there is true evil in this world. She has no qualms about handing out her own special brand of justice to those that she deems deserving of punishment. I can't say that I disagreed either. Lana is quite possibly one of my favorite leading female characters ever...and she's a serial killer!When Logan and Lana cross paths, sparks fly immediately. One chance meeting at a coffee shop sets a chain of events in motion that will change the lives of these two forever. I was completely glued to this story. I knew that things were bound to get really ugly, but I couldn't tear myself away.Lana knows that the last thing she should ever do is pursue a romantic relationship with an FBI profiler. However, she just can't deny herself the happiness that she feels with Logan. For his part, Logan is completely clueless about Lana's true identity or what she does when she's away from him. He has no idea that the serial killer he's been hunting is actually warming his bed at night.From start to finish, I could not pull myself away from this story. Despite being polar opposites, S. T. Abby managed to make both Logan and Lana characters that were endearing. I loved them both, even as I feared the heartache that I know has to be looming in the distance.This story was dark, twisted and thrilling. This first serial ended with a big cliffhanger, that had me jumping into the next one immediately. I was blown away by this story.If you're a fan of dark, suspenseful stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time, then you need to read this series. The first book is free, so you're not losing anything if you don't like it. If you're like me, you won't even want to come up for air until you've read all five. This series was phenomenal!Check out more of my reviews at www.bookaddicthaven.com

    4.5 STARSOH. MY. GOD.This is so fucked up and twisted. And so good. The storyline is phenomenal.And I'm going straight to Hell for loving it so much. What is wrong with me? I can't believe I loved it so much.I can't believe I'm rooting for a serial killer.I can't believe I enjoyed the actual torture and kills.On to the next one!“Hush little baby, don’t say a word. Momma’s gonna buy you a mocking bird. And if that mocking bird don’t sing, Momma’s gonna buy you a diamond ring.”

    5 Fanf*ckingtastic StarsWhat would you do if you were in the middle of your revenge killing spree?? Why you would start dating an FBI agent that specialises in profiling and catching serial killers of course, well duh!Lana Myers life is fucked messed up but it's hard not to be on her side, she is determined to finish these acts of vengeance and not just for herself. She is a badass, I love her attitude and her sarcastic humour.Logan is awesome, hot, sweet and has no idea what or who he is dating but he does know he can't give her up.Totally original plot and I LOVED it. The characters are strong, realistic and great, it was fantastically written, suspense filled and captivating.I do have a hate 'thing' for serials but even that did not detract on my enjoyment of this book. It was like watching and episode of criminal minds with some hot romance chucked in and I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

    Thank god there's no waiting to get to the next book....... that ending though.....Okay, I've loved a lot of dark reads, but this one, I think this series might just top the list. I'm falling for Logan Bennett, but mostly my heart hurts at how hurt he is gonna be when this all comes out. I am so looking forward to how this plays out. He is hot, he is sin and pleasure wrapped in a package❤❤❤And how about the crazy, intense, beautiful package of aka Lana Myers. Wow how do you even begin to write a profile to this firecracker.... I can't, I have to move on to the next book. Gimme gimme gimme gimme please

    "You're supposed to be dead.""You should have killed me deader."...and just like that I am officially hooked on this story of revengeThis series has some amazing reviews from some of my good friends and fellow readers in goodreads. And this was the only thing that I knew about it, before I started it.And then I did started it. And wow! Totally mind-blowing! The story is built in small pieces like a puzzle:1. A serial killer that attacks lonely, handsome, young, successful males. After they are held prisoners in their houses for a certain amount of time from 3 to 7 days each, they die with horrible deaths. They have certain parts of their anatomy cut and the walls of their house paint red with their blood. They are alive for the majority of the torturing, but they are not raped.2. An FBI detective who is a profile analyzer with many successes in his job. The serial killers are his best cases. And he always catches the killer and many victims-to-be are saved. Very clever guy. He loves to super-analyze everything…..until one day he stops using his brain after he meets a girl.3. A girl with a fake name, fake face and fake past. Many secrets mostly tragic. She is really sassy and funny, but she always keeps her distance…until one day she stops being careful after she meets a boy. 4. An event that happened 10 years before that has lead to the events of this book and the readers right away suspect what it is about.Surprisingly, there is romance in this book although it is full of gory details and suspense. The mystery is not unveiled from the first book and there is a cliffhanger in the end.If you like CSI and Dexter, I totally recommend this series.

    This book is EVERYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow wow wow wow wow.This book is the first release by ST Abby and man oh man. She knocked my socks off. The storyline in this is like nothing I have read before why you ask? Well, the "villain" I use that term loosely is a woman for once. How badass is that. This book is dark and has a lot of shock throughout the storyline. I couldn't help but get completely consumed by it. A game of cat and mouse almost but the cat doesn't realize that the mouse he is chasing is the one that he has fallen for. I also use the term cat and mouse loosely because Lana is anything but a mouse. She is strong, determined and ruthless. This book will make you question your moral compass as what Lana is doing is so very very morally wrong but I definitely found myself understanding what her reasoning is in wanting revenge on those that have wronged her. I found myself cheering her own and thought holy shit, how twisted am I wanting her to exact her revenge the way she is. This book will leave you on the edge of your seat and will have you dying for the next book in this series. You will be Mindfucked for sure. 100% this is one of my fav reads ever. Book Hangover for the foreseeable future.

    I have to admit that I misjudged this series based on the cover. This is not another dark romance story. It is dark, but it is revenge dark. Lana has had an experience in her past that made her seeking for revenge. She bumps into Logan and tries to be "a normal girl" for a change.But this is just the beginning....4,5 stars

    4.75This is the story of Lana, a girl with a revenge plan!This book really blew me! I love revenge stories. They have always tension and passion! Ms. Abby succeeded to make so much more out of this revenge story! The plot was surprising and cryptic, full of suspense and mystery. There are dark elements in the story but I am not sure if it’s dark or thriller. In any way, it will keep you on the edge of your seat! The writing is fantastic! The heroine has a weird sense of humour that I totally love! The story is said by Lana’s and Logan’s POV and it’s nicely done.Lana is numb inside but she has a perfect plan to take revenge for what happened to her and her family 10 years ago. I really like her although I cannot connect to her yet. She is intense, clever and really focus to her purpose! I love how she tries to be honest in her way, that she has values and morals. Although she doesn’t believe it, she is still pure inside.Logan is really the knight in a shining armour. He is married to his job and lives for it. I like how he is thinking about everything around him. He is direct but he is not rude. He cares about his people and he shows it. I also like how he can make Lana smile!Their interactions were fantastic! I loved the way they met and how they connected after that. Although they are totally the opposite of each other, they are perfect for each other too. They have an amazing connection, full of flirting, tension and fireworks!The end of the book was a very cruel cliff-hanger. I cannot believe that it stopped like that and I cannot wait to start immediately the next one of the series. I honestly couldn’t put down this book and I definitely recommend it to everyone who loves a twisted, dark, revenge story!

    ~~~ 5 "WOW" stars~~~Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit! I had this book on my Kindle for a month now and boy, I wish I had read it sooner. The suspense was almost like watching a movie. We have Logan this FBI hottie, who's an excellent profiler and he's really good at catching serial killers. He's smart, sweet and a good guy through and through.He's married to his job until he stumbles upon Lana, our heroine. He's immediately taken by her and thinks she just might be perfect for him.Oh, yeah. You're guessing right. This chick is fucking smart, funny, ruthless, strong, but I think she's so adorable and I love her.Let me throw in a little tease from Lana's POV:A smirk graces my lips as the color starts draining from his eyes. "Those tears won't save you, whore," I repeat, though this time I can see him realizing why I'm saying those words. "Beg me to stop."This is as far as I'm willing to go, because the plot thickened and ended on a cliffy. It's FREE.
    Holy guacamole, yes, Yes, YES! This is exactly the kind of heroine I adore. Kick-ass to the bone.Let's start talking about Lana, then. OMG, she's such an interesting character. Calculating, cold, at times, and yet loving and warm when it comes to agent Logan Bennett. She's smart, sarcastic, stabby and witty. I loved how good she was at profiling other people and how unapologetic in her mission.She reminded me a lot of Cat from Halfway to the Grave so, yeah, that was serious cause for brownie points for me. She's the kind of character that gets you to root for her even if what she's doing is totally wrong. She makes it fun, she makes it... right, somehow.And then Logan. Be still my beating heart! I was surprised by his character because I thought I'd like Lana more than him and that he'd be just a clueless prop. Hell to the no, the guy is amazing. He's caring and wicked smart (always a turn on for me). He's good at what he does and is passionate about his job. Also, I loved seeing him with Lana. They're both adults with demanding jobs and he's upfront regarding his crazy schedule, yet he always takes time to text her, flirt, banter. I loved their texts. As I loved the way he idealized her.Plus, his jealous streak was endearing!The writing too is very good and catchy. Not overly descriptive, which I find I appreciate, especially in these kinds of reads, that can get very dark at times.Also, the books are quite short, and it's easy to binge read them, something I totally recommend.Now onto book 2!
    WTF WTF WTF WTF!!!!!!Se existe um livro que a capa engana, é esse!Não é sobre sexo, embora o romance seja a liga entre os personagens principais. Tenso do início ao fim. Coração acelerado. Curiosidade. Revolta. Sede de vingança. Sede de sangue. Esses são uns dos sentimentos que esse livro desperta e eu QUERO MAIS! O final foi surpreendente e eu PRE-CI-SO saber o que acontecerá!
    Wow. This series. Instantly hooked.Lana is out for revenge - she has her list and she is bound to work her way through it - and although you don't get the "why" just yet - you get some idea.While enjoying a cup of coffee she is confronted with a cocky alpha, but it isn't him that catches her eye - it's his friend, Logan. The Risk kicks off this romance-thriller where a woman hell bent on vengeance finds herself drawn to the FBI profiler who is unsuspectingly working her case.I love a good dark romance, toss in an action-packed-suspenseful-thrill-ride and this reader is happier than a pig in shit. I loved the tease the real story behind Lana's plan - that you get a few pieces but nothing is handed over. What an amazing and original storyline! I could not put this down. I was told by a friend that it was going to be incredible, and she was fucking right. #BingeRead
    I lived. Others died.I lived, yet I feel dead.This book was awesome! Please don't ask me how I stumbled upon this, but I'm so glad I did!The premise is very unusual, it's about a female serial killer falling for an FBI profiler. The book itself begins innocently, a badass girl is sitting in a coffee shop, meets these FBI agents, but next scene is BAM, she's out there killing a guy. It's suspenseful from start to finish. Lana is an amazing heroine, complex, strong, you can't help but root for her. If you like TV shows like Criminal Minds, you'll love this too. It's also short (around 100 pages), but packed with so much! I'm alraedy on book #3 because once you start reading you won't be able to stop. This first book seems to be currently free on Amazon, so don't miss it!"Stop profiling me," I say with a teasing smile, but secretly hoping he really does stop. What if he sees too much? What the hell am I thinking? This is the stupidest date I could possibly go on. (...) He's studying me too intensely, but I keep my smile in place, hoping it doesn't seem strained. "Occupational hazard. I can't turn it off. I wish I could, but I can't."Great.
    Holy smoley! Give me more!!Love love love love this book and can't wait for the next, Star Abby (S.T Abby) has that way of making you love her characters even the ones you know are going to be a pain in the arse! Therefore No matter who is in play you are not waiting to "just get to the next chapter" to get a certain person back.An effortless read, it just flows, even with the grossness of the storyline. Speaking of the storyline, erm we are all okay with this, yes? We all want Lana to succeed right! Not just me? Is it wrong? Argh, I don't know anymore, what is right and wrong in this situation? Okay, I've decided, murder..... justice needs serving! Don't know what I'm rambling on about? Take a read. Very clever, even down to the minor details, I feel like I'm learning stuff, the fun way! So interesting and gripping all the way through, especially with those little butt clenching suspense moments to have you on the edge of your seat. Can't wait for the next book! ~ Autumn, 5 stars
    ++SPOILERS++Ok don't hate me cause I didn't love this. It was ok, but not great.First I don't normally read contemporary romance, but I do read horror and psychological thrillers.This book was selected for me to read by my wonderful friends here on GR, and although it was an entertaining romance/thriller, I think the title is more powerful than the story.The author was very brave in their unique theme (for a romance) but didn't quite go the extra mile to deliver the punch it could have given the reader. Please let me explain my reasoning.Quick summary:A woman who was brutally gang raped at 16, gets revenge 10 years later on her assailants by torturing and killing them one by one. In the meanwhile she meets up with and falls for an FBI agent who is working on the case to find... her..unbeknownst to him. Both The heroine (Lana) and the hero (Logan) are expert profilers and use their skills to profle each other through their relationship which leads to some mild humorous momments.The good:I love Logan. Very sweet and honest. A perfect hero. Lana has issues, but has already worked through alot of them before the story begins ( another downfall to the story IMO because it leaves little impact and sympathy for Lana's character) but overall she is a good person who has a thrist for revenge. She was also funny and sarcastic. The bad: I could not connect to nor sympathize as much as I would have liked to with Lana because we aren't given more details about her rape or recovery from it. We know it happened, we know what the rapists said to her during the rape, but the details of what they did was omitted. In a way this was good because it spares readers who are sensitive to such things, but at the same time, it makes for a flat and stereotyped character. It also makes it hard for me to justify the brutal torture Lana deals her enemies. If that makes sense.I never felt any sort of sense of urgency. I didn't feel that edge of my seat nervousness for the characters. I didn't feel that justice had been served. These are things I expect in a thriller. In short, too much tell, not enough show.The romance was ok. Just ok. there wasn't alot of sweetness or enough intimate momments to give me butterflies. It also wasn't as hot and steamy as I was expecting. There is one detailed sex scene which was a hair above mild, and the other sexual momments were off camera.I realize this is a series, and more may be expanded on in the other books, but this one did not grab me enough to want to continue. At least for now. Maybe at another time I will, but at this point I don't care enough about the characters to read the next book.I give extra kudos to the author for daring such a theme in romance. Content: Heroine and hero celibate for a length of time. Not much if any details about either of their pasts are mentioned. No cheating, no straying. Logan works with an ex but it is only briefly mentioned. There is no drama with that person (Lisa). Cursing, violence, torture, sex mildly detailed. Sex with condoms. Violence and torture not detailed, and the heroine was raped in the past..no details.
    5 Killer STARSSometimes people don`t find justice. Sometimes they have to take it.Given I’ve been in an odd mood about reading lately, and that The Silver Swan helped me with its twisted trama, I knew this was the time to dive into this series. And, oh, thanks S.T. Abby for giving me such an amazing twisted hell-of-a-ride story.Lana is on a mission, and its name is revenge. Scarred by a tragedy that took one of the most important things of her life and left her broken, Lana has waited 10 years to make the responsibles pay. A new identity, a list of names, a best friend to back her up, and dark rage motivation will take her to get the justice that was never served. An encounter with ambitious and smart top FBI profiler, Logan Bennett, will make her heart feel and desire something she may never expected to be able to have: a future. The irony of starting dating an FBI agent while being a serial killer is on, even more now, given Logan is investigating her case. Einsten said,"The weak revenge. The strong forgive. The intelligent ignore."Fuck that. Einsten wasn`t always right.Revenge is a dish best served cold... Now that I agree with. It means they forget you`re coming for them, and their screams sound so much prettier when the time finally comes.Lana’s character, OMG. She was determined, sassy, knew what she wanted and didn`t take shit from anybody. Her POVs showed her really interesting mind, one that I never got bored of. I enjoyed her thoughts related to the murders and also of her ability to read people. I`ve missed reading this type of MC, and I love it even more with the fact that Lana embodies the anti-heroine trope that we dont see often.She was quite inspirational, and its just even more ironical the fact she is a serial killer. One serial killer with reasons behind her actions. Look, I’m not trying to say she’s a role model, but she’s a great character.Now, can we talk about Logan? *sigh* I’ve added a new name to my book boyfriends list. Logan was a great character. He was smart, on top of his game at being a profiler (or maybe not so much given he`s dating Lana) and ultimate, a good guy. His protective side and fun sense of humor were great additions to this workaholic agent that does his best to catch the bad guys.Lana and Logan’s chemistry was amazing, and I loved their interactions. They are both clever (which I adored so much, not only because they both are smart, but because together they never lost that quality) and sassy and don’t shy from sharing their observations. I was craving more the whole book and I just couldn`t put this down. I’ve never read one more amazing first encounter by a couple in a book than this one, who thought profiling would be so satisfying?When you are courting a nice girl, an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder, a second seems like an hour. That`s relativity. - Albert EinstenI liked the Einsten quotes in the story, and using his relativity concept, I have to say that this book has about 107 pages, but it feels so well done and developed (in their characters and plot) as a book with 270 pages. I really don`t know how the author made it work that way, but I applaud you.I loved so many other things about this short novella. The way that the characters have depth, and show personality and layers within the first pages. How the plot just captivates you from page one, and how EVERYTHING IS INTRIGUING. This was like Criminal Minds spin-off, one where we have the serial killer dating the FBI agent.This was too a d d i c t i v e, and I may be crazy, but I think I just found a new series that is A++. This was a twisted suspense thriller with great romance, one of the best I`ve ever read because I couldn`t put it down. I don`t know what are you waiting for, go read this one because you won`t regret it.*It's free on Amazon now: Link *
