I don't think I have ever been so crazed over a series like I have been with Skye Warren's Endgame series. This series is legit mind blowing. I fell in love with The Pawn late last year and could not wait for The Knight. I needed more of Avery and Gabriel stat! Their explosive chemistry in combination with the suspense makes this one of my favorite series EVER.The book picks up right at the cliffhanger in book one. For all intents and purposes, Avery has hit rock bottom. After leaving Gabriel after their tumultuous argument with no money to her name and an ailing father to care for, Avery has decided to fight for what Gabriel has taken from her. And here their delectable game of cat and mouse begins. And good Lord is it sexy and combustible. NO ONE can write sexual tension like Skye Warren. It's so hot it comes off the pages.Skye Warren's writing is absolutely fantastic and so gripping because every word she writes is done with precision. Each word evokes a reaction. With her words you could feel that the tension between them was palpable. The way she describes Avery and Gabriel was brilliant. You could actually see the goosebumps raise on Avery's arms the minute Gabriel walked into a room or feel his possessive need to own her. Their passion and obsession with each other was electrifying. While Avery and Gabriel's relationship was my favorite part of the book, I loved the underlying mystery throughout the novel. Avery did not know who to trust as it was revealed there were so many secrets being kept from her. The minute one or two questions are answered, five new questions come to light and you realize she is even more in the dark than ever. Who can she trust? What does Gabriel really want from her? Who is the real betrayer? Skye Warren completely owned me with this book and I am absolutely in love with this series. I can not wait until The Castle. Bravo!! ~4.5 stars, Ratula

The story picks up with Avery living at a cheap motel in the worst part of town, the only place she can afford on her limited means, after the end The Pawn. Desperate to make amends and get a semblance of her old life back, she will walk deeper into a maze of lies and secrets surrounding her family and will come to discover that the only person she can really trust is Gabriel Miller, the man responsible of her current situation. This book was even better than the first one, the way the plot thickens as the story progresses, makes it impossible to stop reading until you reach the last page. With its fast pace and heightened suspense, this book is a real page turner.I’ve been known to love a bad guy in the past, but I have a special kind of love for Gabriel. He is such a complex man, so difficult to read and the dominance he exerts on Avery makes for some steamy encounters between them. I also enjoyed the secondary characters and hope we get to know more about Harper and Christopher. Those two definitely have the underline of a great relationship waiting to happen.Family secrets, a mysterious death, people trying to prevent our heroine from digging deeper into her mother’s past, make for an amazing story that will sure keep you at the edge of your seat.4.5 stars*An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review*

Simply Stunning! The Knight picks right up where The Pawn ended. Yes you need to read it first, The Knight is not a stand alone. We pick up with Avery after Gabriel took what he wanted and threw her out. With no money and nowhere to go she is desperate. Desperate to find a way to get her family home back and get her life back. She is determined to find the answers to her questions. No matter the cost. With nothing to lose, why not?The Knight is absolutely wonderful. Lies, secrets and drama. Not counting Gabriel is hot! And finally he opens up and we get a glimpse of the real person. I love these characters. We get to meet a new one who I totally fell in love with. Will. Even with a small part in the book he leaves a lasting impression. The writing is wonderful and I can't wait for The Castle. With the twist and turns there's no telling where this story is taking us. Loved it!

Re-posting now that the book has been released. This series is my new addiction! :)***I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for honest feedback.***I don't think I've ever been so happy to see an ARC land on my shelf! When 'The Knight' showed up, I did a happy dance and squealed like a preteen girl! I just had to know where things would go between Avery and Gabriel. I dropped everything and dived right in to this book.Picking up where 'The Pawn' left off, Avery is heartbroken and destitute. She is living in a rundown motel on the bad side of town, where her sleepless nights are spent listening to the prostitute next door service her many Johns. She is definitely at a low point in her life. The only thing that seems to be spurring her on is her fury. Avery is determined to get her mother's house back, even if that means going up against Gabriel. She refuses to let him get the best of her again.Luckily for me, Avery is not quite as resolute in her decision to ward off Gabriel. The two cannot seem to resist one another, regardless of the pain and heartache that is bound to follow. Although they have fewer interactions in this book than they did in 'The Pawn', their electric connection is still there and every bit as strong. If I thought that Gabriel's motivations were unclear in the first book, they prove to be even more elusive in 'The Knight'. For most of this book, he was outright cruel and callous in his treatment of Avery. I spent a fair amount of time questioning whether he every really cared about Avery, or if he really did only see her as a tool for his revenge. Not knowing kept me on the edge of my seat throughout this book. Supporting characters, such as Avery's best friend and her ex-fiancé, return in 'The Knight' and play a more pivotal role in the story. Likewise, a couple of new characters are introduced that have me intrigued. I'm very curious to see if they will get their own books later on, down the road. I'd love to hear more of their stories.Avery's mother also plays a more central role in this book. It becomes clear that there is far more of her story to be unveiled. The circumstances of her life and death are very mysterious. I am sure that this enchanting woman's story will be utterly captivating. I am hopeful that her story will be told in the next book of this series.Like 'The Pawn', this book does end with a bit of an upset. 'The Knight' answers all of my questions about Gabriel and Avery, only to plant new seeds of doubt about her mother and the source of the danger that follows Avery. I don't want to give too much away, but you will want the next book immediately.I can not get enough of this series! I am 100%, completely addicted. If you like suspenseful, angsty and emotionally-charged romances with a bit of darkness, I highly recommend this series.Check out more of my reviews at

4 Stars!!'The Knight' is the second installment in Skye Warren’s newest series entitled 'End Game' and like the previous installment held me at the edge of my seat the entire time. Gripping, fantastically written with some interesting angst and suspense, this second book was enthralling, captivating, erotic and deliciously mysterious.“…why did you let me go?” “Ah, little virgin,” he says gently. “So that I could chase you.”This second installment picks up exactly where the previous one ended. Avery had lost everything is a very short amount of time – her reputation, her friends, her virginity, her pride and now her house, the last thing she has from her mother. She’s broke and heartbroken, alone and lonely, living in a run-down motel and trying to find a solution for everything that had changed in her life in such a short time. She knows that Gabriel is the enemy, but she can’t stop the feelings she has towards him. She knows that she should hate him, so why she’s in lust with him when he’s nothing but cruel and ruthless?“I want to own every inch of your skin, to be the only man who touches you, who tastes you. You think I wouldn’t bid on a woman? That I shouldn’t bid on you, of all people? I’ll spend every cent I have, break every goddamn law to keep you.”While Avery does everything in her power to get her house back, Gabriel toys with her like never before. His twisted game confuses Avery, Gabriel trying to break her spirit, humiliating her and treating her worse than ever. While Gabriel is more than cruel with Avery in the beginning, as the story unfolds and the game is changing, Avery gets to know another side of him. Everything gets complicated when hidden secrets are revealed and “the game” becomes more intriguing when it seems that are more than two players.“A puzzle needs to be solved. A game needs to be played. A house of cards needs to come crashing down.”'The Knight', like the first installment in the series, 'The Pawn' was intriguing, filled with suspense and steam and sucked me in from the very first chapter. The story-line was engaging, the plot intricate with some interesting twists that held me captive the entire time and left me wanting more.Once again, the two main characters were fantastically portrayed. I liked Avery’s determination and also her strength, but I have to say I would have liked for her to stand up for herself a little more. Gabriel was the same enigmatic hero/anti-hero we met in the first installment – cold and ruthless for a good part of the story. I must admit I was confused by his behavior as much as Avery. As the story unfolds, we get to see a different Gabriel – sweet and attentive, considerate, tender and I totally enjoyed this new side of him.Personally, I would have wanted more interactions between Avery and Gabriel, but I have to say that I really enjoyed what I got. The chemistry between these two was off the charts and so palpable at times and the sexual tension – simply delicious. The seduction, the submission and of course, the sexy times between them…Oh, my…were so hot! Needless to say, the push and pull between these two was fantastically done. Loved it!"Neither of us can escape. Neither of us wants to."All in all, 'The Knight' was a well written story, filled with intrigue, suspense, steam and angst, interesting characters and a well-developed plot.Find me on:

Ever since I finished The Pawn on that fateful cliffhanger - have I mentioned how much I loathe cliffhangers? - I've been waiting breathlessly for The Knight. I had to know what happened next; would I get answers or just more questions? Well... I sort of got both. The story starts immediately after The Pawn left off; Avery is living in a crappy motel, trying to save the only thing she has left of her mother; her house. Enter Gabriel, still tall, dark and broodingly delicious. I mean, seriously, was I ever supposed to hate that guy? I will admit I did entertain the idea of Avery throwing up her hands in a "f*** it all!" Gesture and getting the hell out of dodge... but I guess it wouldn't be as fun that way.POSSIBLE SPOILER NEXTThe turning point in this book was incredible and one of the better demonstrated changes in alliance I've ever read; I didn't question whether I trusted Gabriel or not because I didn't have to anymore. He let his genuine vulnerability through and it was everything I had hoped for. I can't wait to see where The Castle leads - I had trouble sleeping after I finished this book in a dark room. I kept expecting someone to pop out at me. Let's hope the next few months fly by for some closure!! **ARC provided in exchange for an honest review**

The second installment of the Endgame series is even better than the first...some questions answered but even more have emerged...this plot line is so intricate and engaging. I think Gabriel Miller may be my all time favorite Skye Warren hero/alpha...he's a total a$$hole and he owns it...loud and proud. Although when it comes to Avery, we see the tiniest cracks in his hard veneer. At the point in the story where hard to hear truths are revealed and confessions are made I experienced so many emotions...I don't even think I can coherently describe everything I felt when he knelt at her feet...good heavens, my heart *explosion*There are so many subplots, I'm always in awe of an author when they can weave so many threads together...I'm not sure how many books Skye has planned for this series, but I don't even feel close to knowing everything that needs knowing. Thank you for another fantastic read Skye!As part of the ARC team for this book, I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy.

I think I had a good abs workout reading this book, my stomache was clenched the whole time!! This isn't dark like The Pawn, but it is full of suspense and wondering, what next, why that, and, wow, that was not what I thought, now what about..... you get the picture. To say it wasn't as dark doesn't mean there aren't some deep and emotional moments with Gabriel and Avery. It still is more charcoal than black, and definitely not pure lily white, but then again, there relationship will never be that. With so much going on around them, and because of them, and to them, this is how they forge together in that fire, and are stronger because of it. We get more of their stories, some they didn't know they had, and some that were inevitable. So, this book doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but the story does continue. Those of us who crave and HEA, we get a version of it here, but the fight, the battle, is still not done. I'll be along for the more, because these characters need to have some semblance of peace in their lives, and I'll follow them until they do!

Skye Warren is a genius. Pure and simple. The Knight, the second installment of theEndgame seriesis even better than The Pawn. It picks up right where the first book leaves off. I was eager to dive head-first into this one, and in this novel ingenue Avery St. James and criminal mastermind Gabriel Miller's journey deepens as they continue to walk the thin line between love and hate. The Knight is fabulously hard-core, ridiculously sexy, and just plain scrumptious in its overall delivery. This book has everything that you crave in a dark romance: a sexy hero, ridiculously hot sex scenes, a well-developed plot and amazing secondary characters! That alone makes this title worth every single penny that you will spend on it. Allow me to elaborate as I get down to the nitty gritty. The Knight is deliciously dirty and has a swoon-worthy male lead with a foul, obscenely seductive mouth that makes this novel appealing in the extreme. In spite of Gabriel's brusque nature and cruel actions, there is so much more to him than meets the eye. It was a joy to come along for the ride as Skye Warren peels back his layers one by one, exposing the reason for his cold, ruthless behavior. At this point I have a sweet tooth for Gabriel Miller, and I have no problem admitting to it!!! He is possessive, he is formidable and magnificent in his power. At the same time, his feelings for Avery bring him to his knees, and the way that Skye Warren unveils his feelings nearly made me roll out of my seat!! "I can't seem to let you go...A lifetime of discipline and now I am a f*****g addict." ~Gabriel"Neither of us can escape. Neither of us wants to." ~Avery As far as the heroine is concerned, I adored Avery's strength in the face of adversity. She is a powerhouse in her own right, with a tenacity and boldness that made me fall in love with her character. Those qualities, coupled with her loyalty, innocence and determination to make her own way as she copes with Gabriel's demons inspired a deep-seeded sense of respect and admiration in me for her character. Like Belle in the celebrated Disney film, Avery is drawn to and falls for the inherent beauty in her beast, and I loved her for it. "Everything has a cost. And when it comes to Gabriel Miller, the cost is always too high." ~Avery"That's the thing about a knight whose armor shines... It's never been in battle. Never been tested. Tarnished black armor like Gabriel's-that's where strength lies. " ~Avery There is also a sense of mystery, a conspiratorial, suspense-laden puzzle concerning Avery's family history that creates a unique twist to this love story. Skye Warren is a ringmaster, and she has expertly orchestrated a circus filled with secrets, lies, deceit and toe-curling passion that will keep you wide-eyed and breathless!!!! There is *nothing* not to love about The Knight. I am owned, I am addicted and I am RUINED!!!!! The Endgame Series is a drug, and now that I have had a taste, I simply cannot get enough! Bring it on Skye Warren!!!!! I am waiting with bated breath forThe Castle ! It is like I am on pins and needles, desperately counting down the days until I get my hands on what is sure to be an epic conclusion to Skye Warren's latest piece of brilliance!!! You honestly have *no* idea how wonderfully entertaining The Knight is!! You will be thoroughly captivated by this book!!READ THIS SERIES!That is this Naughty Girl's final word. Overall: 5/5 stars!!!Heat: 5/5 panty-melting, kindle-singeing stars!

"At one in the morning I wake to the sounds of a headboard banging on the wall..."Nothing is the same for innocent Avery any more. Thrown out of Gabriel’s home after he forcefully took her virginity, Avery ends up in a cheap motel trying to survive until the month finishes and she can get the one million dollars. Luckily Gabriel is paying for the expenses of her father’s private clinic. But unfortunately her house has been stolen from her. More nasty surprises will come in the life of Avery. She will be constantly used by Gabriel, publicly humiliated, belittled by her father’s ex friends and she will suddenly discover her mother’s diary which will prove that her life was not full of love and flowers before she died. The story of Avery’s mother dominates the book and explains the behavior of many people. Three key players could have been responsible for her death:1. Avery’s father2. The ex best friend 3. The secret ex lover One of them could also be the villain who torments Avery and possibly wishes her death. Or not. Everything will make sense at the last ball where all the three key players will meet with Gabriel and Avery.Thankfully, not everything will be dark for Avery. Her best friend will be there to support her, a homeless guy will keep an eye for her and there will be unspoken feelings all around Gabriel. Even her ex fiancé will try to save her. When I finished the second book of the series I had more questions than answers. The plot has thickened. More main characters have been introduced. I still miss Gabriel’s POV from the explanations and the words virgin and virginity are still there in large quantities. But I really started liking Avery in this one. At least now she is making fun of the auction and the loss of her virginity.“He’s trying to make it up to you by giving you what you lost.”“My virginity?”She giggles. “Would you want that back?”“God no. Totally useless. The only thing that ever got me was a million dollars.”I just love Avery when she is drunk and/or high. She is funny.

4 STARSMy voice is low. “What do you want?” “Everything.” “I’ve already given you that.” “Not even close.” He stalks around me, circling like a predator. “I want you bent over and broken. I want you bleeding at my feet, little virgin.”*shivers*What IS it about this man that just gives me tingles each and every time he opens his mouth? The intensity of him is almost unbearable, yet like a moth to a flame, he draws you in...The story continues immediate where The Pawn left off. If you haven't read that yet, this is a continuation and not meant to be read as a standalone. I'll try to keep it as spoiler free as possible but some mild spoilers from The Pawn may slip in. So if you haven't read that yet, be warned, you may want to stop reading this review. And you’re the object of my depravity, the target of every dark wish, the canvas I want to paint. I won’t be satisfied until I’ve marked every inch of you, inside and out.”*shivers*Gabriel may have let Avery go after their night together, but his hold on her is far from broken. Penniless and all on her own, Avery is trying to make ends meet while taking care of her ailing father. This is a woman that doesn't just lie down and take it, she's a fighter, and I seriously loved that about her. Her desire for a man that she should hate is confusing but undeniable. Gabriel wants her for the 30 days they agreed to, and he's not about to let her out of the arrangement so easy.I always want him. In my dreams, in the dark. A secret desire I’m afraid to admit to myself.Gabriel continues to be an enigma for a good portion of the book. The man is utterly unforgettable. I read book 1 weeks before and I couldn't stop thinking about him. There's just something about his presence that's so completely captivating, he owns the pages.I want you in every way and place and time. I want you so fucking bad I wish I could stop, because it goddamn hurts.”We finally do get to see the vulnerable part of the impenetrable man that was hinted at in book one, and I can't wait to see the final chess pieces fall. There's a mystery that weaves around the romance that's just as fascinating as Gabriel. The Knight is packed full of twists and turns I never saw coming and it's a book that kept me riveted to the pages from beginning to end.I love a dark romance that doesn't turn to shock value and gratuitous violence to keep the readers glued to the pages, and Skye Warren truly blew it out of the park with this series. I just finished it and I already can't wait for more. I'm hoping book 3 will bring us the conclusion to this story, because well, let's be real, it's a surprise my ADD has lasted this long. Trilogies are usually not my thing, but I'm gobbling this one up and eagerly anticipating the conclusion. His features are severe, a sentinel by the door, keeping watch over me. ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review“Once upon a time I lived in a castle. I would have defended it with my life. That wasn’t what Gabriel Miller wanted from me. He wanted my innocence. I gave it to him, but it wasn’t enough.”Are you ready to play and get toyed with Skye Warren’s follow up of the Endgame Series? If so, get ready to have your pieces lined up and know what moves to make beforehand because Skye will outsmart you as she leaves you begging for more especially when she reveals the major players to watch out for in this game and sometimes it is the least unsuspecting piece. First, we were a pawn in her deliciously wicked and sinful story of a heroine auctioning off her virginity. And now, a new player joins into the mix. The unlikely KNIGHT or in this case, the black knight also known as Gabriel Miller. After purchasing Avery St. James’ virginity and claiming her, he sends her away leaving Avery as the unguarded queen as everything she holds dear is ripped from under her. So what does a defenseless queen do? She learns to make her move in this game called life. “And even then, there’s no peace. No rest from his mouth. No surcease from the hoarse demand he murmurs against my clit: “Again. Fucking again, little virgin. Until you’re dripping down my chin.”Once a socialite princess, Avery is now trying to save her castle. Her family home. It is the last thing she has of her mother. As Avery rushes to save her home from being auctioned off, she begins to see new players enter into the picture. Her father who was once her king soon begins to show his cracks. And as for her knight, Gabriel Miller, it seems she can never get rid of him as he knew what buttons to push and how to toy with her emotions sexually and physically. And as for the other players, it seems they are ready to take down the knight and his pawn. So will Avery learn that she may need a Knight to bring down the Castle?“There’s only been one constant. Gabriel Miller. That he’s wanted me. He’s taken me. You’ve always been mine.”The Knight is a very sexy wicked romance that blends vulnerability,self-discovery, sexual tension, chemistry, eroticism, mystery and darkness. With her tantalizing and hypnotic prose, Skye Warren held me hostage as I awaited what will become of Avery, the pawn and her knight, Gabriel Miller. Every scene and action left me salivating for more and I couldn’t get enough of these two as family secrets are exposed. So are you ready to get spellbound and discover why the pawn might be the most dangerous piece? Skye Warren

***** 5 Stars *****Cannot be read as a standalone.I tried to read this slowly and savor each chapter... but I just ended up plowing through this in one day because I couldn't put this book down. And now I have to wait... and wait... and wait... for The Castle. The Knight picks up right after The Pawn. Avery is alone, stranded in a cheap motel with paper thin walls. She's hit rock bottom.... all because of Gabriel Miller. But the game isn't over. There are secrets waiting to be revealed, and she's going to uncover the mystery behind her family's past. Gabriel Miller is still the same man. Cold. Ruthless. But even though he took everything away from Avery, he can't stop thinking about her. Protecting her. As more players join the board game, things about her mother come to light. And Avery won't stop until she finds the truth. Everything about this story is perfect. The sex. The plot. The mystery. And I can't wait for The Castle.

Book two of the ENDGAME series picks up where book one ended. Avery has lost everything. Her house. Her pride. And her virginity, all at the hands of Gabriel Miller. Now living in a run down hotel Avery desperately wants to get her home back and never see Gabriel again. When Gabriel offers Avery a light at the end of a tunnel. She reaches out with both hands only to have it all taken away again. Soon it becomes apparent that there is more going on here than meets the eyes. And the good guys may not be all they appear to be. While one very bad man may be exactly what Avery needs. Where to begin? Where to begin? So, first off I enjoyed this one just as much as the first book. Same fabulous writing. Same fast pace action. More twists and turns and mysteries uncovered. Interesting side characters (I REALLY am hoping Avery's BFF and stepbrother get a book.)That said, there were a couple things I was disappointed in. One, I don't think this one has as much sexual tension as the first book. And I missed that a little bit. Avery and Gabriel don't actually spend a lot of time together (it felt that way to me in any case) and maybe that is why I felt less of a connection between them. Also in the first book, I felt Avery held her own against Gabriel. In this one, I wanted her to stand up for herself more. She really caved to anything he wanted and she let him hurt her WAY too much. I wanted her to say "F@ck you Gabriel! F@ck the house!" And go get herself a J-O-B. On the flip side, I wish we would have gotten some insight into Gabriel's thought process because I found him a tad bit TOO cruel (for my tastes) in this one. It made it hard for me to believe he actually cared for Avery. Those small issues aside, this one was a great read for me and you can bet that I'll be lining up to get my hands on book three. Two thumbs up from yours truly.

THE KNIGHT:You'll be happy to know that you won't have to crazily back track with 'The Knight' the second book in the endgame series because it takes us right back to where the previous book left off.And if you haven’t read book one yet, one-click THE PAWN: the previous book Avery had left college, lost her family home, didn't have a dime to rub together and auctioned off her virginity to the highest bidder, that bidder was Gabriel Miller, he won her body and soul for one month.“Once upon a time I lived in a castle. I would have defended it with my life. That wasn’t what Gabriel Miller wanted from me. He wanted my innocence. I gave it to him, but it wasn’t enough.” Then he sent her away after he'd taken her virginity so he could chase her down, a game of cat and mouse, no matter how far she ran she could never out run him.“He toys with me, letting me run only to pick me up by my tail. It’s a twisted game, meant to amuse him, meant to scare me. ”Avery is temporarily holed up in an undesirable hotel one step away from living out of a cardboard box, with females with revolving doors right across the hallway. The only thing that fuels her blood is the need to get back her family home which was set up in trust for her.She sold her soul to the devil, a pawn in his game of deception She's lost everything, her dignity, her home, her virginity and at the root of her downfall is Gabriel Miller, but he's not finished playing the game!! The knight - An unusual piece because of the way it moves. Forward and sideways. The only piece able to jump other pieces. Not the most powerful on the board, but the most dangerous in closed positions. Many dark secrets revealed, many more to come. Seriously if you've not read this series I highly recommend it, it's sinfully seductive, an addiction that can't be fed, this series is epic. Nail biting anticipation at it's very best!!I fell in love with Gabriel during this story... he wasn't the villain in this story as he was made out to be, not all heroes come riding in on a white horse in shining armour, sometimes that armour is slightly tainted. The story doesn't end here!!

Another great read in this series, and this time we get a ton of answers to the questions that have been building since the first installment! We also are treated to a bit of a softer side in Gabriel...but believe me....he still is mainly dark! There isn't much softness to him; but when it comes to his Queen...nothing will stop him from protecting her, and possessing her!I am loving this journey, and I am diving in to the final book immediately! Avery has found herself in a hard and dangerous game of chess. The question is if she will allow herself to be just a pawn or if she will make it her mission to win the game. She was such a strong heroine and probably one of my favorite Skye Warren characters. It was a joy being inside her head. The author surprised me with this book. She took the storyline to places I didn't expect and it was such a joy to discover every secret and uncover every lie that hid among the pages.Avery must now get back what's hers. She wants the house she grew up in and she will get it no matter the cost. She has already sacrificed herself and she won't let it be for nothing. She plays a game of push and pull with Gabriel but who will win and who is really her enemy? Read to find out!I cannot wait for The Castle and see what the author has in store for us! I highly recommend it. With Skye Warren you cannot go wrong. Expect darkness, passion and twists and turns that will have your head spinning! I loved it!

Well, that was over too quickly…I can’t believe I rushed it. I should have taken my time, kept the tension going and drawn out the drama. I started this morning, and the next thing I knew, I’d hit the epilogue. I think right there is proof that I got sucked in.The Knight kept me enthralled. I was fascinated watching both Avery and Gabriel change. Avery learns the power she holds over Gabriel and uses it to her best advantage. Gabriel, well, the poor bugger can no longer hide his need for Avery. Sure, he puts up a façade of cruelty and indifference, but it’s easy to see his feelings are burning him alive. The intrigue and suspense were done well and I found myself squinting at all the characters, judging them guilty and needing them to prove their innocence. I assessed each character and felt that none of them was really looking out for Avery’s best interest. As the story progressed, I went from squinting at everyone, to, doing the fake smile *I’m watching you* face. They seem to be OK, but I was still hesitant to clear them and put my trust in them.I’ve really enjoyed The Pawn and The Knight. When The Pawn came to its conclusion I did not hesitate and was desperate to one-click The Knight. At the end of The Knight, unfortunately, I didn’t have that same pull to keep going. Sure, I will read The Castle, but I kind of feel like I got my romance settled. Yep, I get that Avery is still in danger, but I have so much faith in Gabriel, that I don’t feel like I need to watch her back. Because of my love of Gabriel’s character, I will definitely be back for more soon…ish.

I need The Castle and I need it now cause The Knight was a fabulous follow up to The Pawn. Still the pace is as good as the first book. I'm addicted to this story and to Avery and her quest for answers. Gabriel finally shows his true motives and he only keeps surprising me. He's so intriguing with his dark history but when it comes to Avery he's possessive in the sexy and intoxicating way. I really enjoyed their push and pull game and how Avery tried to resist the pleasure Gabriel showed her. She's determined and doesn't back down from getting the answers she so desperately seeks. I loved that she can throw Gabriel off his game with her sharp and brilliant mind. When they collide lust and sex is in the air. They're so intense and I love the erotic undertones. There's so many twists and turns in this fabulous and suspenseful story that I couldn't put it down. The Knight was fantastic and it only got better as the story progressed. What a sequel. Now I want the final piece!5 BadAssDirtyCheckmateStars

Totally underwhelming.I'm unimpressed with this installment.I really enjoyed the 1st book. There was so much anticipation and tension and "holy crap" moments in the 1st book.It really hooked me into reading this next episode.Sadly, this one fell so flat for me.I just don't care about this storyline anymore. There's not enough desire inside me to care whatsoever about what happens beyond this point."Forever" and "Always" have been uttered... and I'm content leaving Gabriel & Avery's story here.

5 + + + Stars"Wondering how he can be so cruel and so kind. Does it tear him apart inside? Or does it lock into place like a perfect jigsaw puzzle, made perfect by the way it fits together?"Wow. There is third book! I want it!! Oh God, I loved, loved, loved it. It was so fantastic! Everything was perfect! In The Pawn, Avery lost everything. Her family, her innocence, and now she lost her house, which her mother had given her. Gabriel had taken all of them. Now Avery is determined to take back her house. And in the meantime all of the secrets of her family are revealed.I love Warren's writing. It makes me hate Gabriel and like him at the same time! Such a darkness in him. Warren's writing is just breathtaking. This book was worth the wait and this series is absolutely unforgettable for me!

I actually danced when I saw this book on my kindle. The Knight picks up where The Pawn ended. Avery is barely getting through life. After she leaves Gabriel, her life takes a turn for the worse. Her father is still ill and she has no means to save her mother's home. As much as she tries to avoid Gabriel, he finds new ways to make her feel his presence. He is as elusive as always and 10 times more stubborn. He is hell bent on getting his money's worth so he'll do anything to keep Avery close. This series is giving me anxiety,y'all. I can't stop being excessively emotional over Gabe and Avery. These two own me and I'll cry when their story ends. This book was as amazing as I thought it would be. Some of the mystery was solved but sill there is so much more to know. And frankly,I can never have enough of Gabriel. <3 I was hoping a little more of their chemistry and sexy times but all in all this book, like the first one, blew me away.

5 GABRIEL STARS!!!! THANK YOU, Skye Warren, for creating Gabriel Miller….for my pleasure! Just when I think Skye Warren can’t get any better, she goes and drops Gabriel into my lap (yes, please!). I was SO excited about this book, and I was not disappointed. ”Can’t you find someone else to torture?”“No one nearly as pretty.”My Gabriel & Avery:Gabriel and Avery play a dangerous game. Well, it’s mostly Gabriel playing games with Avery and torturing her in the most delicious of ways. Of course, he can’t stay away from her even though he let her go in the first book. This book is riddled with secrets. Some secrets are revealed, but not all. Avery is thrown one mystery after another, and Gabriel is there at each one. What I love about this series is that there is a fast-paced plot, so even though the hotness abounds in every part of this series, there is an overall story that keeps it all interesting. I am a fan of plot-based books. Gabriel and Avery's messed up, twisted relationship is the stuff of dreams…..ok, maybe only my dreams. Lol. ”Play with me?” I whisper against his lips. “Always.”The Pawn ends in a cliffhanger (no!), but this book quickly picks up where it left off, and there is a happier ending for this couple, so you don’t have to wait until The Castle to get a happy ending for these two. I’m excited for The Castle because the story continues and these two are finally together so hopefully, it will be like one giant epilogue!ARC courtesy of publisher in exchange for an honest reviewFind me on

4.5 stars! The story of Avery just goes on from where is was left. I have to admit that I was totally hooked in this book! In the Kinght, there was mystery, suspense, passion and love! The plot is great with twists and surprises on the way. Ms. Warren had still a couple of aces hidden in her sleeve and I love her for that. The story is still said from Avery's POV and it's nicely done.Avery has changed from the Pawn. She is not so naive and innocent anymore. Now she is angry with everything that happens! It's like she suddenly can see through the beautiful walls that everyone had built for her. The only negative point for me was her lack of trust and faith she had on Gabriel. Gabriel promised to be honest to her and she was still thought the worse of him!Gabriel, oh Gabriel! I totally love him. Normally I don't fall for arrogant, cold, distant guys but Gabriel has a power I cannot resist! During the Knight, his intentions and reasons become a bit clearer.Their interactions are so much more intense and passionate than in the Pawn! Their discussions are so much more deeper! I love them together and I cannot have enough of them! The end of this book was full of action and mystery! Although answers were given to lots of questions from the Pawn, new questions were raised! There was also an epilogue that closed with a small cliffy but nothing like in the Pawn. I cannot wait to read the next instalment of this great series!

4.5 Suspenseful Stars! The Knightis the second of three books in the Endgame Series. I really liked the first book, The Pawn, but I loved this installment. It just keeps getting better. The story building both with suspense and the emotional connection between the two MCs, Gabriel and Avery. From The Pawn we know of Gabriel Miller being a cold-hearted, ruthless antihero whose taken down Avery's father and their who house of cards. She has lost her home and nearly lost her father, who's recuperating in a nursing home. Avery St James has lived a life of posh debutante so falling this far, into the Lion's Den of sorts, is a long hard way to fall. Determined to win her family estate back, she ventures into that Lion's Den with Gabriel. But oftentimes fear morphs into need, a palpable pull to a man she should despise. But her body speaks otherwise...The Knight is such a crazy ride full of suspense and intrigue plus the added angst of that tug of push and pull between Gabriel and Avery. He'd kill to not have this insane draw to own her but he can't seem to withstand her draw.I cannot wait for the final chapter in this trilogy The Castle! Can the villain become our hero? I sure hope so!Advanced copy received by author in exchange for my honest review.
