Things change when Violet’s best friend disappears and realization sinks in that the stalker means business. Denial put aside, Violet has no other option but to accept the help of police Sergeant Willard Kelley and his rather sweet protégé, to come to terms with the seriousness of the situation. roses are red violet is dead blood so violet Reviews
I was provided a copy of this story by the author for an honest review. On that note, I found this to be a different, yet interesting read. While the fact Tanner was the bad guy wasn't really a surprise (the silent killer and all), the author did provide a great build-up prior to his identity being confirmed. Colton, on the other hand, was a surprise. I guess his weirdo-vibes that Violet got were too obvious for him to be the killer, so when it turned out that he was actually looking out for Violet...well that was a nice surprise. In the end, I'd recommend this mystery story to others. On to book 2. Questions/Comments:Violet’s known her best friend since forever, yet Shelby ends up dating Colton, a guy that Violet couldn’t stand. Violet had mentioned prior to them “hooking up” that he was an ass, so why would a BFF still want to date someone that you couldn’t stand? I’d say she’s not much of a BFF. There were areas where the author seemed to have issues with tenses. For example:“Ebony hadn’t really given the whole group the low down on why she no longer had a car, so they just thought she can [could] get another one.”Moving on… “The amount of print powder and prints show that he (psycho guy) was all over the place in this room.” They seem to forget that Violet’s father had been in that room as well. Since it WAS his room, his prints should be all over the space. “I came across a piece of button that isn’t from any of the shirts anyone in my household has ever worn, not even my dad.” Now is she just overzealous here? I doubt anyone would be able to confirm a broken piece of button didn’t come from anyone’s clothing without going through said clothing unless the button piece was extra fancy in some way.“…we’re not sure if he knows that none of his text messages are getting through.” He knew they weren’t because she blocked him. Hence, why he went to sending email instead.Violet says that Blake didn’t really care about her and what was going on. He was likely dating her because of her status. What status? When Tanner lowered the bucket of food to Violet, what was the squishy thing in it?
