But before beginning her new life, she travels to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico searching for a week of relaxation and reprieve before barreling into her turbulent future. She never expected to meet the handsome and enigmatic Frenchman Sinclair on the plane and she certainly never would have imagined herself accepting his proposal for a week long, no-strings-attached affair. Giselle has never experienced anything as heady as Sinclair’s controlled seduction and cool yet devastatingly erotic commands and she finds herself powerless to stop the ferocity of their passions, even when she discovers he has a partner back home. The last thing she needs in her life is another complication, yet as the week wears on, she finds it surprisingly easy to relinquish control to Sinclair, a man she knows nearly nothing about. 3.5 Holiday Affair stars“One week with a perfect stranger, no complications, no surprises. Just....this." One week. Lust and Passion. For Elle it was a week of sexuality awakening, seeing how far her boundaries are with the sexy unattainable Frenchman He managed to lure her in with is wicked charm and there is not a soul around who would deny the passion that they share. He is hot and cold, and Elle knows it'll end in a world of hurt, but nothing can stop her from making the memories with him to keep her company after their week is out. Fate has a twisted sense of humor and the game she has prepared for these two are a setup for heartache. The Affair is the first in The Evolution of Sin series, and boy did my emotions evolve. I think it is fair to say that this is a story of an affair, BUT the way it is told and the way the week is lived makes you question the whys of the relationship we rather not mention. HOT and Heavy, the tension and sex keep you glued to the pages, but the feeling of being sad never really leaves. I am a romantic at heart, so this was a struggle, I wanted a happily ever after so bad but I knew in the back of my mind it was highly unlikely. To add to my wishful thinking was thinking this was a standalone, that maybe the rest of the series would focus on other characters, but sadly that is not the case. The beginning was their end and as much as I want to go on and keep on rooting for them, I don't think my little romantic heart can go on. Yes I took a sneak peak at the second book and I can tell that is a level of angst I don't think I am prepared to face. Proceed with caution, recommended to my angst loving friends.Copy kindly provided by the author, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.***Quotes above are taken from the version of the book I received and may differ from published edition.

I enjoyed this one-week no string attached love affair of Sinclair and Elle. It's a forbidden romance with an angsty moment and the scorching scene that will leave you breathless. It's an engaging story from start to finished. Giana Darling is a new author to me and she didn't disappoint because I want to know what will happen next, it's a real page-turner. I can't wait to continue this series! I greatly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this kind of theme.

***** 4 Holiday Affair Stars *****The Affair is a hot forbidden romance full of sexual hunger and angst. I finished this in one day, I couldn't stop reading. Elle is an artist moving from Paris to New York, but before her big move, she takes a little break in Cabo San Lucas. Although she planned on a simple and relaxing vacation, Elle runs into an irresistible man on the plane. She becomes his siren. Sinclair is all alpha male with demons in his shadow. He's warm and kind one minute, and then cold and reserved. He made a promise, but all promises go out the window because of Elle. They agree to a steamy holiday affair. They also agree to not share anything personal, but lines get blurred. So much passion gets released in only a few days because the affair has a timer. This book is so erotic. There isn't that much BDSM involved, but Elle is curious and interested in that lifestyle. I can't wait to see what happens in book 2.

The Affair was a great quick read for a first book in a trilogy. I especially enjoyed Giselle’s sexual evolution. She became more brazen and comfortable with her newfound sexuality. She reveled in it. Sinclair was a sexy mystery. I liked his use of control over Giselle. It was highly erotic and their scenes together deliciously written. Although his hot and cold behavior got a little repetitive. The story overall was fairly predictable but I enjoyed it nonetheless.3 BadAssDirtySirenStars

" The Affair", by Giana Darling was an incredible read! I could not put this book down! The author has written a story that is effortless to read yet still gives us characters with depth and the storyline is not only engrossing, but sexy and filled with a little mystery..Giselle Moore is embarking on a new segment in her life, she is leaving Paris and the life she has built as an up and coming artist to go to New York to join the rest of her family after five years, well after a weeks vacation in Cabo San Lucas . For you and I , all that flying may not be an issue but Gisselle does not do well with flying ; so the first leg of her journey was spent utilizing the courtesy bags and sitting next to a man who was willing to pay someone else to take his seat . Fate intervenes however on the next leg of her journey placing an incredibly sexy Frenchman next to her, who amazingly with a gentle touch, a warm blanket and a little electricity between the two of them sets her at ease. By the time she awakens , he has a ginger ale waiting for her and some light conversation. All to soon they part, her for her resort and him for business leaving Gisselle wishing she was more forward , if she was maybe she could have spent more time woth him.Settled in to her suite at the resort she heads out for dinner and soon finds herself face to face with her travel companion and dancing an electrifying tango wondering if Sin is feeling the same connection.Sin(Sinclair) is drawn to her and aware of the equal draw she feels but Sin is in a committed relationship and wanting to honor it, but even wanting to honor does not stop him from asking if Gisselle would consider a holiday affair, no questions, no personal information, just time together. An affair is something the old reserved Gisselle would never consider but her attraction to this man is something she has never experienced and does not want to miss out on! These two are white hot together Until Sin has a bout of guilt and starts pushing her away, something Gisselle is not willing to accept, he promised seven days she wants them all. These two have seven wonderful days together, during which time they both effect a visible change ion each Other , a change even Sin's co workers and friends in Mexico take note of .The book leaves you with a cliffhanger so fair warning, Gisselle heads to New York, no goodbye it would be too painful, she has fallen and fallen hard best trip of the bandaid and move on! I am excitedly awaiting the next book in the series " The Secret"Arc graciously provided by author for an honest review.

The Affair by Giana Darling, like all well written romance/drama/erotica gives as much time and effort to the emotions of the relationship as it does to the sex. Strong characters and realistic settings make this a believable and entertaining novel. Giselle Moore is trying to get away from her artist's life in Paris and the responsibilities of New York City where her family is waiting on her to return. But as she is in this in between phase of her life, she decides to take up a friend's offer and travel to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a week of relaxation and escape. What she finds instead is an opportunity to be someone she is not. A person unlike who she is in Paris and what waits for her in New York. The mysterious Frenchman Sinclair is used to getting his way. When he meets Giselle, he makes her an offer she doesn't want to refuse. One week with him, as his, then they will part their ways. She knows he belongs to another, but she doesn't care. Giselle has not felt this way about a man in a very long time and for once, she wants to be carefree and irresponsible. For once she wants to have no strings attached. But what she is beginning to realize, is that one week may not be enough and when it ends, can she really walk away? The Affair is a well written romance novel that just happens to be sexy as hell. Unlike many modern erotic novels, this doesn't start off with sex and then a page or two or rest and then more sex and then you know some more and then order breakfast and then some more....No, there is actually a story here. A plot. Characters that are as driven by their emotional feelings as their physical ones. Giselle is not a complicated character to begin with but as the story goes forward, we find that there is far more to her than at first we imagine. There is some damage and survival and there is that sense, not of loss, but of untapped potential. She knows she is more than what she has been and she wants that for herself. The chance to be more.Sinclair is a controlling man and lover. But with Giselle he finds that his controlling nature may be his weakest part.Together they find that they are in fact stronger than they are apart and together is what they truly want. As is usual, no strings attached tends to create the greatest bonds.A very good read.

I'm conflicted over this story. It's really good and would have been a 5 star for me except for one tiny little issue. This story entails one thing I abhor in romance novels. Cheating. If you take that out, this was a very steamy read. Giselle meets a handsome man on the plane to Mexico for a week of rest and relaxation. She's getting over a previous breakup and what better way than with a sexy, dominant and mysterious man. However, she finds out he's mysterious because he is already in a long term relationship. Their attraction to each other is very strong and the author does a really good job of bringing out there intense chemistry. Their attraction is so strong they agree to a week long affair, not revealing anything personal about each other. This will come back to haunt them later. I kept finding myself very angry with Sinclair because I just couldn't get past the cheating. I don't know why I'm not as angry with Giselle for it. I think the author did such a good job of showing this isn't something she would normally do and can't help herself but take what little time she can with Sinclair. Sinclair has the power to terminate his relationship with the gf, but he doesn't. Now this story is not finished and I do believe in the power of authors being able take you one way in the beginning and surprising you in the end but after reading a glimpse into the next book...well you know that thing I mentioned about coming back to haunt them? Yeah, that gets revealed in this glimpse into the next book. I admit, I need to find out how the author is going to spin this tale, I just don't see how that's going to happen without a lot of collateral damage. This will be a great read for all those fans of angst because this had my emotions all over the place.ARC received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book for free through NetGalleyFull review and shirtless Ryan Gosling hereIt always starts with two strangers on a plane: one, a handsome mysterious stranger and the other, an innocent young women looking to find herself. Unlike other erotica novels I’ve read that start like this, The Affair is not contrived and the connection between the two characters doesn’t come across as corny.I can’t wait to continue on with the next book so I will be keeping my eye out for that.

A copy of the book was provided by the author in return for an honest review.Let me say that what intrigued me in this book was the tile because I’m a big fan of books about cheating (don’t judge) and most of all I know how difficult it is for an author to write about such a delicate issue. This is a book about our main heroine who tries to make a fresh new start traveling to Mexico were she is seduced by the mysterious Sinclair by making with her a deal to have an affair for a week. She finds that Sinclair has enormous power over her and she is unable to resist him even though she knows that he has a girlfriend. She promised herself that this would be an affair without complications leaving her heart out of this “relationship” but Sinclair makes their encounters so sensual and erotic that she falls for him. This was a well written book, the characters were amazing (even though I like my heroines more sassy and confident) and I hope we get a second book that will surprise us

The Affair is exactly what the title says so for those sensitive to the subject, STOP NOW, turn around, walk away.I had no idea what to expect. I assumed because to so many cheating has a sleazy connotation to it, I assumed the story would follow or at least relate. WRONG! The hero and heroine in this story have a depth of chemistry that boggles the mind. The story is very well written. Beautiful in fact. I couldn’t consciously “pretend” the couple isn’t having an affair. The author took every opportunity to remind the reader. I applaud her boldness.I know this book won’t sell a gazillion copies. Readers won’t read it because of the subject matter. It’s fiction just like any other book. Cheating is not a big deal for me as I understand it happens. Therefore I can read this story in the context its meant to be read as every fiction story is meant. For entertainment purposes only. This review is my PERSONAL OPINION of this story. My personal opinion should have ZERO influence on your experience with this story if you choose to read it. Every reader has two options as usual regarding a story: read it or don’t read it. Your CHOICE.Five stars!

** ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW ** First do NOT be alarmed by the title. Believe me I know what some of you are thinking, "No not for me" and move on … Don’t do that. I get asked a question all the time, " what do you not like with your romance" and the first thing I say is cheating and cliff-hangers. I admit to not even picking a book up knowing if it has either of those two things. However ... I promise you this book is worth it.Elle meets Sinclair while she is horribly air sick on the plane headed for a week in Mexico. Staying at a resort before flying home to be with her family whom she has not seen in a few years while she was away in Paris. They seem to have this connection like magnets. Sinclair kind of comes on to her, he knows he should stay away but can’t help himself. He even admits it. “I have never wanted someone the way I want you.” “But I don’t like the idea that you could very well change my life.”Come to pass they are in the same hotel, dancing ensues, dinner and once alone he asks her if she has ever had a holiday affair. Before they can get in to what it would all in tale some of his business associates join them for dinner. One being a Rock star named Cage who is charming and kind of stole a piece of my heart .. he can keep it. This whole time Elle is thinking about Sin’s offer, one week no attachments, no personal info. She wants to do the right thing, doesn’t want to mess up someone’s relationship but she wants this man with bone deep need. Once things get started they get STARTED… Oh wow was it HOT… “We only have a few minutes so do as I say.” “Stand against the wall.”Sin is a pretty confident character; masculine, knows what he wants and goes after it. But I have the feeling it’s a front for his own insecurities. His has a way of pushing people away, like if he looks unapproachable no one will see past to what he is really hiding. Elle sees past that, she brings the boy out of the man. So as the story progresses, the rules fall away and things start to get blurry, connections are made and people are going to get hurt. For the most part Elle kind of puts it out of her mind that Sin is in a long term partnership. But when "she" calls while Elle is in the room things start to really come to life. And they won’t have much more time left.Problem is he is falling and she has already fallen. This book was so beautifully written. So in the end I need the next book like right now. I won’t even let myself read the teaser because I will want to throw my kindle across the room. I foresee some really interesting turns in the next book. I was shocked at how this baby ended. I want to become Giana Darling’s besties bestie and pick her brain about what is to come with these two. I am converted from a – I’ll NEVER read a cheating book – To a – I will give anything a try :) Reviewed by Pam N. 5 Sizzling Shivery Stars

This is a new book by an unknown author. I'm always a little worried when I read a new author, never sure what to expect, will I like their style or not?! But I also like to give everything a chance, you never know what gems you're going to find. This time was no exception! From the very beginning I was interested. Giana's style is flawless, the story flows nicely and I found the characters to be well developed and likeable. The chemistry between Giselle and Sinclair is electrifying and unmistakable! Giselle Moore is on her way to New York City, to re-invent herself for the second time in her short twenty-four years of life. But before beginning her new life in New York, she has planned on a week of relaxation in Mexico. Sinclair is the handsome Frenchman she meets on the plane on the way to Cabo San Lucas. He instantly puts her at ease and helps her relax on the plane, there is just something about him that draws her in. He propositions her with a week long, no-strings-attached "holiday affair". With Giselle's limited life and sexual experience, accepting his proposal is the last thing she thought she'd do. Yet, she throws caution to the wind and decides that she's up for something new. She soon finds out that she is no match for this man and that even if she feels bad for his long time partner, there is no way she can walk away from him! She is powerless to stop the intensity of their passion. As the week wears on she finds it more and more difficult not to get attached to Sinclair and what started out as a casual affair is quickly turning into more. Is it just her or is Sinclair starting to become more attached as well?! His colleagues have noticed changes in his behaviour in the course of the week as well. It ends with a cliffhanger and I can't wait to find out what happens to Sinclair and Giselle. How do they part after their week together?! "Is a week of passion enough to warrant changing their lives forever?"I'm definitely going to be reading the next book, entitled The Secret. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long!

This is my second read by Giana Darling. Even though I struggled with the first book. I am so glad I could see something in her writing. And knew I had to give her books another chance. And I am so glad I did. I loved this book!!! I loved the plot and the chemistry between Elle and Sinclair is soooo good. The build up in the plot of this story was torture. I wanted in Sin's thoughts in the worst way. I could not put it down. There is a cliffhanger but thankfully all the books have been released. I need answers!!!!!! LOL!!!

So...I don't shy aware from books about cheating or affairs because honestly it's all around us, everyday, we hear about it. There is never an excuse or good reason to cheat however, I have read some books where I understood why something like that could happen. Doesn't make it right but I understood none the less. When I first jumped into The Affair I was intrigued from the very beginning. Giselle was likable from the very beginning. She was a strong character for the most part however you knew from the start that something or someone had broken her heart and spirit. The moment she met Sinclair I knew that something sexy and dangerous at the same time was going to happen. Vacationing in Cabo on her way back to the states I thought well this will be your typical holiday affair, your typically lets do the get naked and have a good time and go on our merry way ordeal however I was pleasantly surprised. The sparks were instant from the very first meeting before even arriving in Cabo. Over the course of their stay the author had a way of writing both character where I felt like I was personally getting to know them on a deeper level. Sinclair was a bit of a mystery the entire novel and I was always wanting just a bit more from him in terms of what the heck was going on. He was upfront and honest with Giselle about his partner he had waiting for him back home and they both questioned themselves and their attraction for one another numerous times throughout the course of the book. I will say that I was a bit turned off by the fact that even though she knew he was involved she still went through with their arrangement. Yes it was totally wrong but when those 2 got together the hotness level exploded and even though a small part of me hated both of them for doing this I think in the end their connection and chemistry for each other won. Something is going on, something with Sinclair and his girlfriend back home, I can't put my finger on it but I was screaming to know what it was. Whatever it is, I think it's going to be big (HUGE). Once Giselle and Sinclair started getting closer and things started heating up I noticed that she became stronger, and I think Sinclair should take some credit for that. I can't wait to see what happens in book because I think there is going to be a HUGE OMG moment that will knock me on my butt. The way this story ended, well lets just say I didn't want it to end, it couldn't end like that. I HAVE to know what happens. I think Sinclair is hiding something HUGE and I need to know. Giana did a wonderful job of making me feel. Granted some of those feelings were dislike especially because of how both character treated the affair but she also made me feel curiosity and passion. She took a subject that was very taboo and made it not so bad to read it about because of the mystery she threw into it. I don't know where she is planning on taking us with this story or what the character have in store for us but I for one am not going to wait to find out. Good thing for everyone who hasn't read this book yet is that book 2 is coming out May 16th so that will give you just enough time to read The Affair and than dive into The Secret (see with a name like that you know there is a secret that will be told) when it releases. Anyone who isn't totally against reading a story that involves cheating and loves a good amount of suspense and intrigue and craves passion between 2 characters I would strongly suggest picking this up today and giving it a good.

4 starsI started off this book really excited as this is the authors first book. I had high hopes and I was not disappointed! This book started off with meeting the beautiful Giselle Moore, she's an artist coming from Paris where she has been painting for a couple of years. The first time we see her is on a flight to Mexico, she' not a great flyer so she doesn't look her absolute best when meeting the Hero!Sinclair is to the rescue at the beginning of the book when he tries to calm down Elle, they had great chemistry from the start and Sinclair had a very dominating personality but didn't take it too far which I loved! He is also coming from Paris. When the flight is over they meet again by an off chance at a resort in Mexico. Sinclair is purely there for business and Elle is there for a much needed break from real life.Sinclair and Elle can't deny that there is something between them, Sinclair propositions Elle to have a one week affair while they're both there together!I can't wait to read the next book in the series, the end is left on a cliffy but not too much to make me loose my mind! I would definitely recommend this book to readers who are looking for a book with some summer romance with some twists and turns along the way!! Original Digital Copy (ODC) received by the author for an honest opinion:Damn hotness overloaded and bombarded in this eccentric and intricate holiday affair sex story. The journey of Sinclair and Elle egged me on to read further until I knew what was going to happen in the end with them even though I knew it was a cliffhanger. It was a messy read, one which is a good messy read.I was biting my nails, wetting my knickers, pouting mad and sad and wondering the same insecurities in my head as the female lead did as the narration by the author proceeded ahead. I could feel and see the transition of a timid girl into someone bold and courageous and I even have those lines bookmarked in my kindle when I felt that now Elle has grown a lot from the day Sinclair and Elle came into the contract or their mutual agreement to fuck each other's brain out!!! I am left at the crossroads because I cannot wait to read will they be someone with a happy and a nice ending or will their lives take some twists? This is a trilogy and if one single book has so much to tell, disclose, decipher and yet left to the wild imaginations of the readers, I seriously wonder and worry what else has the clever and imaginative author, Giana Darling has stored in her books to come up ahead for us.On a genuine note, I am really thankful to have read her. It was probably my first read from such an awesome human being and author which has only motivated me to read further to whatever she has up on her palette. To surmise, it's a dark brooding erotica, a mere and probable tease and a glimpse to shock us for what is coming up if you're soon to read the next edition of this trilogy. P.S. :- This author can definitely hold a candle or even a chandelier against the big fishes in the sea like EL James or Sylvia Day. She has an erotic bone in her body which wouldn't cease to make you horny and fall in love with the characters built so thoughtfully.!!!! <3 <3

I finished this book last night before going to sleep and I still don't know what I want to say about. It was intriguing to say the least. Giselle agrees to have a holiday fling with a stranger, who is also in a relationship. This is something that the author says is totally out of character for this young woman. The man in question, Sinclair, is going to the same area on business, but know with one look that he has to have this woman. They agree to sleep together without sharing any personal information. The lines on that agreement were blurred a lot throughout the book. The chemistry between these two was real, and even though Sinclair could sometimes be cold, when he allowed himself to open up he was really amazing to Giselle. The hot/cold attitude drove me crazy though. I tried to understand his behavior when he would shut her out, excusing it for a man having doubts. I mean, he is cheating on his significant other with a woman he knows nothing about. Still, those times when he let his emotions hang out or forgot to hide behind the cold exterior, it was clear to see that he was developing feelings for Giselle. I don't know the particulars of his relationship with his significant other, but from conversations with his friends it seems that he is not with her for all the right reasons. Does this mean that Giselle may have a chance to make this relationship permanent? Well, you will not find that out in this book, but it is definitely worth the read.

I am not one for affairs, neither do I condone cheating. But holy crap was this amazing! I hope to have a holiday fling one day... *Sigh* no i dont want him in already taken, Geesh! haGiselle, artist who takes a week vaca to Mexico in her friends place before flying to New York for a family reunion, meets a mysterious Frenchman (Sinclair) on her flight to Los Cabos. When she see's him again at the place shes staying he offers her a week of ultimate pleasure. A Holiday Affair. One Week. Filled will pleasures she's never dreamed of.Little does she know Sinclair is already spoken for. I loved every page. Its more serious and a cute romance. Not very much humor but when it shows it definitely had me laughing. Elle and Sinclair's characters were amazing and fell for them both, I really connected with them. I felt there pain, sadness, passion, and love for one another. I cant wait to read more! By the way the covers for this series are absolutely beautiful, they are worth a thousand words and relate very well with the stories.

After suffering a 2 month long book slump, The Affair was the look that brought me back to life. This is the first book I have read by Giana Darling and I am now hooked. Her writing is flawless and her words are like a painting to me. I picture myself and all of these eccentric characters as if they were mine. My memories and my friends. I have completely fallen in love with this story and Sinclair and Elle... I swear there is no better feeling than getting comepletely lost in a book. Thank you Ms Darling for giving me my passion back!
