*I was gifted this copy by the author for an honest review*Let me start this review by saying that I had no idea what I was getting into when I started reading 21 Years of Jane. I certainly had no idea what Legg-Calve-Perthes disease was or how it could change a person’s life so drastically at no fault of the victim. Jane (Starr) East suffers from this debilitating disease that has put her in a wheel chair without the use of her legs. At twenty years old, she is virtually a recluse as her peers find her a good target for cruel gossip and torment. Her parents take it upon themselves to find her a friend. Nolan Ransom doesn’t set out to have his life changed or to change an extraordinary young woman’s life. His carefree, quick wit, and compassionate nature make him the perfect foil for Starr. They soon become fast friends as Nolan pushes to make every unattainable wish come true. I cannot tell you how much this book moved me. I don’t think I’ve cried over a story like this in a very long time, if ever! There were times I thought my heart might jump out of my chest and there were times I had to stop reading just to get a grip on my emotions. There are moments when we need the perspective that a good cry can bring and Starr helped remind me how thankful I am for the little things we all take for granted. Props to the author, Yolanda Olson for sharing a story that inspired such high emotions and for daring her readers to look beyond the physical.

21 Years of Jane by Yolanda Olson5 of the Biggest Stars EVERI have never cried uncontrollably while reading a book. Until I read 21 Years of Jane. My family thought I had fell off of my rocker when I started blubbering!!Olson steps well outside of her norm and tackles a very difficult topic that hits close to home when she tells the story of Jane East, a beautiful and headstrong young lady who was dealt a difficult hand in life, leaving her to live her life in a wheelchair. When she was introduced to Nolan Ransom, Jane never expected to find the pure, sweet love that she had always longed to capture. Always by her side and trying his damnedest to make her feel normal, Nolan made a promise to Jane to love her forever and do everything he could for her. That promise was one that was kept. I have smiled that silly smile that makes no sense to anyone but me because it takes a true and patient kind of love to endure the struggles and challenges that come with being committed to someone with a life-threatening illness. Even though Jane and Nolan's tale is so achingly sweet, we have to look at the reality of the situation and accept two difficult truths. 1. Nothing here on Earth lasts forever. And 2. Even the ones that we love the most aren't guaranteed to be with us tomorrow. With that being said, this is hands down Olson's best work. I have cried and cried until I can't cry anymore!!!!! And I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!!!! Complimentary copy received in exchange for an honest review. Meagan

If you're here reading reviews I sure hope you've read the book. There is no time to waste! This book was an emotional read, which is always a good thing. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wanted more more more. #oneclickitNOW

Sweet, romantic, and heartbreaking. No matter what you expect, there is always that book that touches you in many ways. My heart was definitely invested. Take a chance and go through a whirlwind romance with Nolan and Jane aka Starr. Witness true love and devotion. Nolan was just amazing and wonderful. He was young but more mature than others. He proved time and time again how far one would go for their one true love. Jane tried her best to be a good daughter, sister, girlfriend, and then wife. Travel with her as she learns that there is more to life. That one can enjoy the little moments no matter how limited one might be in certain aspects. Also, witness two very mature siblings who love their sister dearly and would do anything to make her smile. This book will touch you in many ways. Have you emotionally invested. Be prepared to cry and wish to do more. Take from thus great read that we should enjoy the precious moments we have, dare to dream, and just take things one day at a time. Jane and Nolan's story is a sweet story you won't forget.

Loved the story line, just felt like it was too rushed which got in the way of me connecting with the characters, and on an emotional level, it just felt dis jointed and too rushed, this is only my opinion though..

5 stars .... 21years of Jane by Yolanda Olson. If you have read Yolanda's first series, you'd see straight away that 21 years of Jane is a completely different genre than her first series. Having loved Yolanda's first series I was really eager to read her new book, and it certainly didn't disappoint. After reading the blurb for this I knew I was going to be in for a roller coaster of emotions throughout the book, but I wasn't prepared for how truly gut wrenching this book would be. I had to stop quite a few times because I just didn't think me heart could take anymore and I couldn't see through the tears. The story is about a young women called Jane. Unfortunately Jane has suffered most of her life with a a disease called Legg Calve Perthes. This disease has left her in a wheelchair and unable to use her legs. Jane has spent most of her life as a loner and completely isolating herself from others because of her disease. Janes parents have had enough of her isolating herself and decide to rake it upon themselves to find her a friend. Nolan has moved in to Janes neighbourhood, He hears about Jane and us very eager to meet her. They form a friendship very quickly, and with Angolans help Janes stats to open up and and start experience what life truly had to offer her. Through Nolan and Janes friendship, Jane starts to experience lots of "firsts" curtesy of Nolan. The book takes you on a amazing journey with Jane. Yolanda wrote the book in away that you feel you in the book to and that your taking the journey Jane is on with her. The story makes you feel that there is still hope left in the world and how amazing true friendship really is, and how one person can change someone's life forever. The book will touch your heart and the story will stay with you long after you've finished it, Yolanda did a incredible job at writing characters that you will fall in love with., and that you will be routing for. A outstanding story that everyone should read now. It was truly a honour to read it. **reviewed on behalf of Two Ordinary girls and their books **

Lovely. This was a really sweet story that took a different approach to your typical romance story. If you are looking for steamy romance scenes and nights full of passion this is not the book for you. However, if you are looking to read a story about the lengths that loves then I would recommend reading "21 Years of Jane" by Yolanda Olson. This is the story of Jane East, a young woman who has had to deal with health problems most of her life and the people around her who love her. I thought Jane was a lovely character. She was strong, caring, and loving. She was a character who focus on love and the good surrounding her instead of the hand she been dealt. If I was in Jane's situation I would have been a hot mess. I don't want to give to much away, but you will be touched by Jane's story. This book had great supporting characters. From Nolan Ransom her love interest in the story, to her brother and sister. This is a book about not only Jane's journey but how her journey affects those around her. This book makes you feel hopeful. That even if you are faced with hardships that if you focus on love surrounding you can get through it.My only critique about the book is that I wanted to read more. I love Nolan and Jane's relationship, but I think more scenes were they interacted would have made their love even stronger. Although, I believed in their love it still felt rushed. One day they were friends and the next day they were in love. Yolanda Olson did a lovely job overall with this story. It is a departure from some of her other works I have read, however I really enjoyed reading it. I would recommend this book if you are looking for something different then your typical romance story, or if you are looking for a book that makes you put your faith back in humanity. It was a lovely read.

5 starsThis book was given to me for an honest review.I'm in complete awe. I don't think I have been so emotionally drawn to a book as I was to this one. I don't even know how to begin, I loved jane. She has to be the strongest woman I have ever met. Every obstacle she had, she made it feel like it was nothing. Her love was so strong for everyone she loved, that I believe that is what she lives for. Never a complaint out of janes mouth, which made her an extraordinary person. Nolan, what can I say he has to be the most patient, loving man there is. He stood up for jane when she thought that she was a burden to everyone. Nolan completes jane which only made this book that much better. The parents in this book are strong and really needed to be part. Also stella and liam, the brother and sister of jane have to be the smartest kids, because they just kept on fighting. This book is so gripping and pulls at your heart strings more and more with a turn of a page.Jane has a simple life. Stays at home, has no friends, and plays with her siblings. Nothing more, nothing less. Nolan arrives in the he picture and everything changes. She is living life. She is has something to look forward to waking up and finding out what happens next. Tragedy happens and life is put on hold. How do you keep life moving, when it wants to take it away?I loved this book. Its a tearjerker and you won't want to put it down. This is not a happily ever after, but I am so glad I got to read this author because this has to be one of the best books I have read. Sent from my NOOK

Jane is a normal 21 year old girl, except for the wheelchair she has to use. Because of her condition she doesnt have friends except for her parents, little sister and brother. Nolan and his parents move the neighborhood, and after meeting Jane's parents and hearing stories, Nolan wants to meet Jane. The first time they meet, besides talking, they go to the neighborhood park, where Nolan with a little help gets Jane on a swing for the first time. What starts out as friendship fastly becomes so much more...Jane experiences many firsts in her 21 years...swinging, kissing, and love to name a few. .But with any life, all it takes is a freak accident to change the course of many lives....In my opinion this is THE BEST so far by Yolanda, and though I did write a quick review...it does NOT give this beautiful story justice!!!

I was thrown into an emotional rollercoaster. I can't say I wasn't warned because I was. I loved Jane and how strong she was. Nolan was absolutely wonderful. The type of guy who any girl could fall in love with. Although they fell in love with each other really quickly you couldn't help and be happy for them. They were soul mates who found each other and fought for as long as they could to be together through it all. A love that you only find once in a lifetime that is what I felt through reading 21 Years of Jane. I cried I laughed and cried some heart sobbing snot falling tears because I really felt everything that the characters felt. This is a book that will forever hold a place in my heart. I'm out of words of how this book made me feel but I absolutely loved it ❤

Where do I begin? When I first started reading this novel, I honestly thought it would just be ok. I'm not really into New Age because I can't relate so much to them. Yolanda surprise the shit out of me. Jane is the most wonderful young lady I've had the pleasure to read about. Her nature is infectious and even her fears are relatable. Then there's Nolan. He is every young woman's fantasy. My favorite thing about him is that he doesn't give up. He takes fear and turns it into courage. I completely blubbered at the end. My eyes were red and puffy, my nose running and all I could do was smile. Yolanda ended the book on just the right note.

Oh My Gershness!!! My emotions are all over the place right about now. Jane suffered with a disease that put her in a wheel chair at a young age. All she ever wanted was for people to treat her normal. Until she met Nolan. Nolan, what a wonderful soul. He never expected his life to lead to Jane, but sometimes the best things come when we are least expecting them. Nolan and Jane's friendship is true, and it progresses into a beautiful love story. If you are looking for a great read that has real life issues, real friendships, real love, and a lot of happy tears and sad tears, then this is for you! I highly recommend this book, but I will warn you...please have Kleenex near by!

This book hit extremely close to home for me and I found myself crying, I mean UGLY crying, at the end and laughing all the way through the beginning, Olson did an amazing job portraying hurt, unconditional love and support. Wow!! I'm so completely lost for words! This book was so emotional! A story of love, determination, struggle, disease and loss! I can't even begin to imagine the pain Jane went through! Being in a wheelchair myself, I could relate to some of the situations! I definitely sobbed and ugly cried like a baby!!!

This a beautiful love story. Well written and full of heart. It grabbed me from the first chapter. I had to know what was going to happen. Jane and Nolan have something so special. And I felt like a fly on the wall, watching everything unfold. Grab your tissues because you'll be sobbing. But it's worth every tear.

Loved it. Be prepared to shed a few tears when you experience the love story of Jane and Nolan from the being to the end. Along with the book's tender side, there is also some humorous moments that I found myself chuckling when I was reading it. I absolutely love Liam and Stella, Jane's two younger siblings, they definitely will steal a piece of your heart. I would recommend this book.

If you had the chance to be with your one true love, someone who made you not only a better person but completed your life in a way you never thought possible, you'd take it right?Would that change if that person was in a wheelchair with a degenerating condition? Would you spend every minute you could loving this person or would fear keep you away? This is a story about two people who are the epitome of what love is, what love is supposed to be. This is the story of someone who was broken yet was still amazingly strong. This is the story of Jane and Nolan. Jane is 21 years old and in a wheelchair that she's been in since she was 12 years old. After a humiliating experience in high school, her parents started homeschooling her and, as you may expect, tended to baby her a little more than a "normal" 21 year old.Nolan's family is new to town and he's asked to go talk with Jane - maybe become friends. What Nolan hadn't expected was the feelings he'd have her. Nolan brought Jane, who was already extremely strong in spite of her condition, out of her shell and showed her just how much life she still had in her. I loved this story. It was sweet, it was hopeful and it was utterly touching. This one will stick with me for awhile and I have to tell the author, Yolanda, this is an AMAZING tribute to your grandmother! If it's not obvious, I give this one 5 stars!

This book was kind of what I needed . It makes you open up your mind and heart. 21 years of Jane was such inspiring story. Jane East is young girl with a little problem. She has Legg-calve-perthes disease. She has lived most of her life on a wheelchair. She was 20 years old and living life in the handicap world. With the most amazing family as her supporter and she managed to live a semi normal life. Her parents wanted her to make friends so they invited this new guy in town named Nolan Ransom.he immediately fell In love with jane. On her 21th birthday Nolan asked her to marry her. This was a dream come true for jane. Not knowing what to expect. That someone like her was able to fall in love and for someone to love her back with all her flaws. As this love story gets deeper, life begins it journey to a path that's unreal. It's a short read. But it will have you flip pages to see what else can happen or will end in a happily ever after or a sad ending. I gave this book 4 stars. Like the writing and the way life is. I recommend to all age readers.

3/5! I enjoyed the story and characters in this story. I was hooked and read it in one sitting. (that has to say something about the quality of the writing).I really wanted to give this story a 4+ but it had issues for me. I felt like the story flowed in a strange way. One minute Jane's parents were very protective and controlling and them BAM! that changed. Nolan's instant feelings for Jane didn't work me either. I would have liked a little more story and time to pass to let their chemistry build/mature. These issues may seem trivial but it really had and effect on the flow of the story and characters. In the end, this is a story that will stay with me and for that reason the story is worthy of reading.

Well written with many editing issues, mostly missing or extra words. This is a stand-alone book with no cliffhanger. This is a very short story. It provides an interesting view into the life of someone who's in a wheelchair and the challenges that creates with how the family treats them, how difficult and altered the lives of family members are because of the person's inability to be independent, and the challenges with dating and relationships. If you enjoyed the movie "The Other Side of the Mountain" (a very old reference, I know) then you'll like this book. If you need a HEA ending, I can't recommend it.

If you want a good book to read, this has got to be placed on your TBR list. 21 Years of Jane is such a heart touching story of Jane, a young lady who has health issues which have kept her in a wheelchair. Read along as she comes to do many firsts in her life, including a boyfriend. Great supporting characters in her young siblings, parents, boyfriend and his parents. As you know, I will not reveal spoilers because I personally do not like reading them and I enjoy reading to find out for myself.

If one had never read Nicholas Sparks or understood the would-be consequences of an illness that places a young girl in a wheelchair, then perhaps a reader would be surprised as to the ending of this book.Summary: Jane is wheelchair bound due to a serious illness. She meets Nolan, they fall in love at first sight and tragedy befalls her and their relationship. This is a short story, and not written all that well. Everything is rushed.Don't read this if you want a depressing story or if you expect deep exploration of feelings.

The only thing I really knew going into this book is someone said how emotional it was, and I needed a read like this. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the range of emotions I went through. The only part I couldn't fully grasp, was the speed at which everything unfolded. I thought perhaps it would've spanned a little longer time wise. Who am i to question the heart and love. Jane's father worked my nerves a little bit too. Great read and tears aren't optional.

I really enjoyed this book. A remarkable story full of emotion and compassion. A beautifully gentle friendship develops between Nolan and Jane when her family moves into the neighbourhood. For once Jane has met someone that sees her and disregards her disability as Nolan encourages her to live a little. Friendship develops but will their relationship survive the obstacles in their path.I ugly cried over this book, such beautiful moments with Jane's siblings. I loved the characters.
