I used this text as a mentor text to accompany in lesson that I prepared. Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad was a network to help others escape slavery. I would recommend this informational text for grades 2 to 4. It could be used for social studies, civil rights and social justice. This book was written by Jane Anderson and illustrated by Mark Corcoran.
Ben actually checked this book out of the library but Harriet Tubman has always been one of my favorite historical figures and I love the Graphic Library series for getting kids to enjoy reading about people that they might not take the time to read about in other formats.
I let me learn more about Harriet Tubman but just in graphic novel form!
