I'm sad to see the conclusion of the Men of Inked series and I was glad that Anthony finally got his HEA. The toughest of all the Gallo's, manwhore, Anthony was the one I never guessed would be felled by a woman as sassy as Max. Max was definitely time enough for him from the minute of their introduction up unto the point where she said, "I do" but the journey was well worth it. I loved Max's backstory and the fact that she made Anthony "work for it" with her. But, there were many times that I felt that Max was super acerbic. I definitely felt for her once I discovered the reason why she put Anthony on the emotional roller-coaster that he couldn't seem to get off off. However, I felt she was just too.......extra. Her attitude definitely rivaled Izzy's in the sass department but she was stubborn at times when she just could have relented. Poor Anthony had to battle out even the little things with her. I'm sure that was Bliss's intent because Anthony DESERVED it because of how he treated all the women in his past. But Max seemed to break him at every turn. The friction between them actually took some of the enjoyment out of the story for me. I didn't hate it but because of it, Without Me was my least favorite in the series. I was happy to see where they landed and the beauty that came out of the fight. As always I LOVED the family and even the connection that Marie had to Max's mother Ruth -- I thought that was sweet. Although I'm sorry to see the Gallo's go, I look forward to seeing what Bliss thinks up next.

ARC provided by author in exchange of honest review[image error] "A love so spectacular and heart wrenching that it threw me for a loop. When I was in too deep to escape, my greatest fears became reality. This is my story. My downfall. My salvation. "Without Me by Chelle Bliss was a bittersweet read for me. I am bit sad to say goodbye to the Gallo family but at the same time I am beyond happy that we finally get Anthony's story and what a beautiful, sexy, and charming story it is. Without Me was a journey of a man who found true love. A love worth fighting for. A love worth dying for. A love that sees no color. A love that heals. A love that truly proves that whatever obstacles that stands in their way Anthony will be at your side. A love that everyone wants and hopes to attain. A love that Anthony Gallo finally got when Maxine walked into his life and forever changed it for the better. For some, love can hit you so hard and you instantly know that this person is the one. And for Anthony when he met Max, he knew she was the game changer and it was up to him to prove to her that the connection that they have for each other is something that they both can't deny. In his pursuit for Max, Anthony went all out to show her that he isn't giving up easily. And when Max finally gives in, pure love begins to bloom between these two. But Anthony knows that Max is keeping a secret from him since she is afraid to fully commit to him. When the truth of Max is finally revealed, will Anthony walk away or will he stand by her side? Without Me was one of those reads that made you smiled for Anthony. It made you want to say finally, he's going to get his fairy tale love story ending like his siblings. What I really enjoyed about this book was the message that you don't give up on love because of an obstacle. Love is not about being afraid of the what if. It is about the NOW and whatever the future may holds, the love that you shared with each other is something that can't be erased. The memories are forever burned and etched into your heart and soul. And Anthony and Maxine's love for each other is a love that truly showcases for better or for worse, in sickness and in health. What can I say but I am so happy that Chelle Bliss ended this series with Anthony's story. Ms. Bliss will capture your hearts with her beautiful writing and storytelling. And as for the epilogue, I loved it. It will have you smiling and leave your heart brimming with happiness. Chelle Bliss[image error]

This is the last book on the Gallo siblings. I am very sad to see them go. I love a series about one certain family. To refresh your memory, the Gallo siblings are Joe, Mike, Izzy, Thomas and Anthony. They are a tight knit, badass Italian family. Each one have had a book with them finding love in the end. The last to find his love is Anthony.....Anthony is the oldest of the Gallos and the only one not in love. He's okay with that, though because he's a self proclaimed man slut.Family, pussy, and work were my top priorities-and in that order too. Nothing else mattered. Women came and went. Time passed. Everything and everyone had changed, yet I tried to remain the same. The book starts off with Anthony immediately meeting Max.Max is beautiful, but super closed off. According to Anthony, she's a Keisha Knight Pulliam(Rudy from the Cosby show) look-alike. Anthony hits on her and Max shuts him down cold. He almost gives up but then he kisses her......I felt the spark ignite something inside me. The kiss had sizzled, but another connection, her reciprocating my touch, caused a detonation of tiny shocks across my entire body.Anthony feels it. Max feels it too but she is adamant about NOT giving him a chance. What ensues for the first half of the book is Anthony and Max hooking up(which was hot BTW), then Max very gruffly kicking him out the next day. All this time, Anthony has no idea why she's doing it. What makes HER so HOT and COLD? And why does HE keep putting up with it? Of course, Max has a reason why she's so hot and cold. She's afraid of dragging Anthony into a lifetime of POSSIBLE medical issues/problems. Will SHE let go of her fears and let Anthony in before it's too late? Or will HE finally give up on her and stop wasting his time?I'm not big into books where the hero/heroine pushes someone away because of potential medical/health problems because they think that's what is best for the other person. However, I loved seeing all of the Gallo family members present and I loved the ending of this whole series. For me, my absolute favorite were Mike and Mia inMike was the huge fighter and Mia the quiet, meek doctor. I will sadly miss all of them.

The oldest Gallo and the most man-whorish of the gang is about to be brought to his knees! We got a little bit of insight to Anthony’s love problems in Uncover Me, but we get the whole story of Max and Anthony in Without Me.One look was all it took for Anthony to realize that she was different. That he wanted something from her that wasn’t his typical MO. Maybe it was the way she refused to look at him, or the way that she kicked him out the morning after and kept kicking him out every time he worked his way back in. Whatever it was, it was sticking and Anthony was finally falling in love, unfortunately Max seems to want nothing more than a few stolen nights. Max Washington is focused on her work, family and a few close friends. For years she has refused to chance a relationship or risk her heart (or anyone else’s). But no matter how hard she pushes Anthony away, he just won’t let her be. Until he does. And the secret that Max has been keeping all this time must be revealed if she ever hopes to get Anthony’s forgiveness even if she’s accepted that walking away is the best thing he could do.Without Me was certainly the most emotional of the series thus far. My heart broke for these two, even though Anthony was getting back exactly what he gave to countless women, I still hurt for him. It was gut-wrenching to watch Max deny him and push him away. And although I wanted him to never give up and push her as hard as he could, part of me just wanted him to have an easy kind of happy. Throughout the series, I sort of felt Anthony drifting from the family fold. Everyone around him was finding love and suddenly he was the lone single guy and no one paid much attention to him. It broke my heart so much more, knowing that and knowing that now that he finally found love it wasn’t going to be easy for him to keep in his grasp. Another fantastic book from Chelle Bliss. Not only were these two hotter than hell, their journey was heartbreaking. I loved that I felt tears building up as I got to certain parts of this story and although I didn’t expect to love Anthony as much as the other characters, I think he ended up stealing a piece of my heart that none of the other Gallo men had laid claim to.

"Love wasn't something you could turn off or deny."I both dreaded and anticipated this final book in the Men of Inked Series. I was excited to read it, but reluctant for my love affair with the Gallo family to end. Through the pages of my kindle they invited me to share their innermost thoughts, desires, and secrets. I was included in the family dinners every Sunday and I shared in their sorrows when any type of danger or loss threatened one of their loved ones. I especially enjoyed the laughter among the siblings as they played hard teasing each other while knowing that they would always have each others back. The men are so big and protective, but at the same time so gentle and loving to their women. Chelle Bliss created the perfect men for her readers to drool over. Not only did she create some serious #CoverLust with those hot models, she steamed up the pages of our kindles with those sexy love scenes. And um...can I just say Thank You for the interactive link to provide a visual aide...just WOW! The love scenes weren't just words, they were feelings and emotions expressed through their passion which made it beautiful to read. We melted right along with the lucky women who were chosen to become the girlfriends, wives, and mothers of the the future children of the Gallo men. I certainly hope that we get to hear from these incredible characters again in the upcoming works of this amazing author. I'm not gonna give any details about the story, Without Me, it just needs to be experienced (with tissues).

Certain things about this book made it my least favorite of the series. Anthony flirts with stalker territory at times and has a chip on his shoulder bigger than all the other Gallos put together. Max has a huge chip on her shoulder too and a martyr complex. She gives up before she even tries. She is horribly wishy washy and at times I actually thought it was best for Anthony to stay away from her.Towards the end of the story I enjoyed it more and I did like the epilogue.

Without Me by Chelle BlissAnthony & MaxTHE END OF AN ERA!!!5 Mutha Effin' Stars... all the damn way!!!First and foremost, I believe that this is and will always be the most difficult review I've ever had to write. Not only is this the ultimate conclusion to the Men of Inked series, but it's a very personal story brought to us by my fave Chelle Bliss. I went back and reread all of my annotations and highlights from every single book in this series and the memories came flooding back in. It brought back so many emotions and so many heart wrenching, gut busting sensations. It felt like I was saying goodbye to my own family. I guess I am in a small way. The Gallo's have become a part of me that I will cherish for the rest of my life! From City's brand of "Roadside Assistance" for Suzie and all his glorious tattoos and rockin' motorcycle in Throttle Me to Michael watching Mia kick some dude in the balls for manhandling her and then telling her she smells like a cupcake, ahhhh... Vanilla Bean Noel... Hook Me, it certainly did... Shortly after the fighter and the fixer Chelle brought us that foul mouthed, arrogant, sexy bitch Izzy Gallo and that damn fine DEA agent James in Resist Me. Talk about aggressive sex scenes... Whoa!!! Enter Thomas and Roxy in Uncover Me. This one nearly put me in the ground with its suspense and all the secrets and damn it, but I'm a sucker for a chick with red hair. Now the final blow is brought to us in Without Me. This book will knock you on your ass and take names later!! Chelle does pepper in a few novellas in there... The Gallos: The Beginning, Throttled, and Resisting just to put her little twists into this magnificent series. All this time I thought Anthony Gallo was the youngest of the boys and here I stand corrected, he is the oldest of the boys and the last one to fall. And fall hard he did! Although he does come across a tad bit self-centered and a little bit like a man-whore, his character is absolutely exhilarating. Anthony is not what he seems... although he portrays himself as the fly by night rocker and tattoo artist, his heart is the size of Texas. It killed me to see him want for something and not be able to obtain it. He is from Gallo stock and therefore he's genuine, good, and an upstanding person. Maxine a.k.a. Max was a breath of fresh air. She carries herself in such a way that not only did I respect her and admire her but I wanted to be her. Max was not only dealing with all the bullshit that life naturally throws at you but she was thrown a curveball in the health department and although it may appear she was rolling with the changes she seemed to stay locked up inside of herself until Anthony. I love this woman with my whole heart! She can throw 'em back with the best of 'em, she can hold her own, and she's a knock out! All complete with a over protective older brother... ring any bells... **wink wink! To wrap this up... this story is humorous, tragic, and unexpected. The storyline is so compelling and the characters so convincing that I found myself making their every move and every word my main concern. I wanted to be Max. I wanted to be loved by Anthony. I wanted to hug Chelle for writing such a breathtaking closing story for the Men on Inked series. The dialogue flowed with expertise. The pacing was perfect and the tension leading up to that climax... pure bliss! It made me laugh out loud. It made me ugly cry. It will take you to heights you never knew and lows you wish you could forget, but all in all it will warm your heart and brand your soul. Husbands, boyfriends, and boy toys if your girl is reading the Men of Inked series... you'd better step up your game. LOL!!!

Anthony is the piece of the Gallo jigsaw that we've all been waiting for. I loved this story so much, especially seeing the rest of the Gallo family complete with their partners moving on into their futures.Poor Anthony doesn't know what's hit him though when he stumbles across Max in a bar. She is feisty and determinedly rejects Anthony's advances. This is something that Anthony is not used to, no woman has told him no before! Anthony is not about to give up though and after feeling that spark with Max, he knows he has to make her his but will she ever be able to accept him in her life?Max has decided that no man has a place in her life and despite her friends and Anthony trying to convince her otherwise, she is determined not to put herself in a position where she could hurt herself, or others.I loved Max's character. She is strong and fragile all at the same time and she hides her vulnerability from everyone, or so she thinks. There is one thing that she has in abundance though and that is confidence in her sexuality as Anthony soon finds out. There is plenty from the Gallo's as well in this story and the whole gang come together on more than one occasion to entertain us readers. I still want more from Izzy and James and I feel that there is definitely another story waiting to creep out *hint hint Chelle*. I also enjoyed spending some I time with Max's brother, Denzel, I'm sure we would enjoy getting to know him a little better as well! All in all a fabulous end to an amazing series which has been full of passion and love. I am looking forward to the odd novella being released in the future as I am no-where near ready to be finished with the Gallo's. WOW! I have to admit that I'm very sad to see this series end. Without Me was very different from the others books, and yet, what an epic ending to an amazing series. City has been my favorite through out the series until this book. Anthony shot right up the list of my all time favorite book boyfriends. Anthony is the last Gallo to be hit with all consuming love. He is super hot and been hitting it and quitting it for a very long time until he comes face to face with Max. She throat punched the cocky right out of him. Max is living her life quietly with no desire to have a relationship. She has a big secret that makes her shy away from men. The problem is love doesn't care and the epic battle begins.Lord, the hotness in this book just about melted my kindle. It was very entertaining to see Anthony be treated like he had treated so many before Max, and then emotional to watch him evolve in love. I cheered Max on for a while until I got mad at her for being so stubborn. Without Me took me on an emotional ride and wrecked me. I found myself tearing up more than once. Chell Bliss wrapped it up brilliantly and I pray we see the Gallo men pop up again in the near future. In conclusion, great writing, great book, great series, and I recommend it to any and everyone!

So, this was not my favorite Gallo story. I'm still not really a fan of Anthony but even more annoying was how much Max resisted. I still love the Gallo's but I'm taking a break for now because I'm just not feeling it right now. I'll move on to the next book later.

Absolutely amazing end to the series and a definite must MUST read. Fantastic build-up of chemistry and passion!Full review to follow on release day.Review*ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest reviewThis is the final book in the Men of Inked series, although the author assures us they will be popping up in spin off series coming soon. This is Anthony’s story, the oldest of the Gallo brothers and so far the one that seemed to be in the background for most of the series so it was lovely for him to finally come forth into the spotlight and show us what a gorgeous, sensitive (although still alpha!) man he is. Anthony, like his brothers, has never had any difficulty in charming women into bed. He has a natural ability to woo the ladies and take what he needs then leaving when he has taken his fill without a backwards glance. However, that night in the bar he spots the beautiful dusky beauty at the bar and no matter his charm is on full flirt mode, nothing will make this woman submit to his wants. When her brother turns up and warns Anthony off. However this is a Gallo male we are reading about so you just know he won’t give up and he doesn’t when he spots the same beauty in another bar a few nights later. This time his charm offensive is on the full beaming power. Maxine (aka Max) is living with a devastating secret, one she will not share but it is the main reason she will never get into any relationship that could lead to any permanency. This is the reason, although she finds Anthony so hot and intense, she will not take him up on his offers. That is until the night he invites himself to join her and her two friends to the club and after a few drinks she weakens her resolve to spend the night with him.The chemistry was a fabulous build-up from the onset so you knew once these two got together it would be explosive between the sheets (or against the wall, or….well wherever!) So when this took place it was an instant knock down when Max then kept rejecting Anthony. The continued back and forth of her letting him in, then pushing him back and Anthony’s resilience and determination to get to the bottom of her conflicting behaviours was a suspenseful and emotive read.Chelle Bliss cleverly keeps the reader involved in the storyline with the underlying reason for Max’s standoffishness with Anthony. All throughout I was second guessing what it was and going down the totally wrong avenue, when the truth was revealed it was a highly thrown curve ball that I certainly did not see coming. It was all the more heart wrenching knowing the author’s own personal struggle connected to the story. This was a bittersweet ending to the series which I have been involved in since the very beginning. I have come to love and cherish the Gallo family and feature them on Foxylutely Books blog. I have loved being an observer of their separate love stories with the combined family love and dependency. The Sunday family get-togethers have always been a huge part that I have loved to feel as if I was sat there with them. This was an amazing and emotive series and Anthony’s story a brilliant ending to finish on. A fabulous series that is an absolute must MUST read if you love your romances to be full of hot steamy passion, sexy alpha but sensitive men with strong family values. Brilliant! But so glad I will still get to see them in future. Five plus stars.

Karma is a bitch. Anthony Gallo, tattoo artist, musician, manwhore, had women lined up waiting their turn to be with him. He decided whom and then tossed them away with no thought of seconds.Relationship was not in his vocabulary. He would not be pussy whipped like his brothers, no way. He was use to easy pickins until he met her, Maxine/Max/Kitty Cat.The one who said no, the one who called him out on being an asshole, the one he had to have. You couldn’t be more wrong. I love a beautiful cock more than most women, but I don’t like the ones that are attached to an asshole.”~MaxAs I said, Karma is a bitch. The tables are turned; “Thanks for the good time, Anthony. Last night won’t happen again.” She slipped her arms through the sleeves of her robe and tied it shut. “So I need you to get dressed and go home.”~Maxthat threw Anthony for a loop, a woman, dismissing him!Another smoking hot story with underlying issues will leave you guessing if Anthony will have a HEA. There were moments when I held my breath wantingand not wanting to know the answers. Pssst, Smoking hot.. Asshole or not Anthony is a master with his tongue and like his brothers when he wants something nothing will stand in his way of getting it.Sweet surprise, another Gallo makes their way into the world and Ma Gallo is in seventh heaven. It’s been an incredible journey with the Gallos; Joe, Mike, Thomas, Anthony and of course the Gallo princess Izzy. It seems like yesterday when City/Joe came across Suzy on the side of the road or the first time Mike laid eyes on Mia when she treatedhim for bruised ribs, ahh Izzy when she gave up control to James, Thomas theBrother always spoke of but hardly seen due to his undercover work and hisdesire for the forbidden, Angel and finally Anthony and Max.While the Gallo boys gave me hot pants Ma Gallo gave me laughter. It’s hard letting go of a series, the characters bury themselves in thatpart of your brain that seeks HEA’s and steamy love making.Author Chelle Bliss never disappointed, each story providing hot men, strong women mixed with delightful orgasms, love and family.

My favorite Gallo brother finally gets his Happily Ever After! Anthony Gallo has met his match in EVERY. SINGLE. WAY. Chelle Bliss brings us her most emotional book yet. WITHOUT ME is a passionate, touching, and downright sexy read. I have been waiting for Anthony to find his spark for quite a while, and Ms. Bliss gives us one hell of a fireworks show with this couple. With a male lead that will piss you off AND make you swoon, and a female lead that you will respect and want to cheer on, this author gave us a conclusion to a series that we will never forget. The tables have turned for the eldest Gallo brother. His manwhoring ways have come to quite a halt, when he meets a woman who wants absolutely nothing to do with him. Ignoring his lines, just makes him want this beautiful and stubborn woman even more. The gauntlet has been thrown, a challenge has been accepted, and Anthony Gallo will stop at nothing to get this woman in his bed.The gloves come off when these two incredibly stubborn people get in a room together. They have an intense pull, but when one side is fighting it with all her might, when they finally come together it is explosive, passionate, and everything you would think it would be. If you never thought it was possible for Tony Gallo to be brought to his knees, well think again. Max is a tough chick who doesn't mess around and you can't help but to fall in love with her just a little bit when she tells off Tony. It's classic and ridiculously funny! These two are quite a match, and the journey they take us on is raw, sexy, and poignant. Chelle Bliss always brings the heat along with her moving stories. WITHOUT ME was the perfect ending to this amazing series. Us fans, have become a part of the Gallo family, and it was incredibly hard to say goodbye. I just hope that we haven't seen the last of these protective, sexy, alpha men and the women who finally filled their hearts.*Gifted copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I have fallen in love with the Gallo family since the free prequel. Nothing complicated here just stories about the Gallo kids. I have enjoyed every single book and will look forward to novellas in the future or books about the grandkids. I have fallen in love with this series, each story has an issue not a big one but one that can be a real life problem in a relationship but we get a HEA which is why I read romance. This book just wrapped everything up, I wasn't a hundred percent happy with Maxine, I did not like how cruel she could be with Anthony but I guess Anthony needed to be on the other side in order to evolve and become who Maxine needed. I love reading about this family and I hope to read more about them.

This was an ok read. It was not in-depth and felt rushed at the same time it had the little nuances, and attention to details that makes me like romance books. The sex scenes were hot AF.Another thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the interracial issue. I hate authors that straddle an issue, it should either be a big issue and make a big deal out of it then resolve it. Or it shouldn't be an issue at all but at the same time acknowledge the little differences in features and so forth. But in God's name do not straddle the fence, where is a big deal at the same is not. Drives me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review!***I had mixed feelings about reading this book. On the one hand, I was dying to read it. On the other, I was desperate not to. I knew that by reading this book, it would be the end of the beloved Men of Inked Series, and that was something I would never be ready for. So I took a deep breath, and went in.There were a lot of really great things about this book. For me, this book was all about Anthony. I loved his transformation from cocky asshole to caring, loyal and loving man. I wasn't sure what to expect from his story, because we all knew how much of an asshole he could be to women. He definitely started out the story as a player still, and then he magically transformed into a man any woman would desire. Not that this was much of a surprise, because the author can write an enigmatic, alpha male that you will crave to no end. I really enjoyed Anthony in this book, although at times I felt he got more than he deserved, but he really proved himself to be a man with a heart of gold. He was so in love with Max that he stuck by her side through some pretty trying situations. I really loved that about him. It took him a long time to fall, but once he did, he fell extremely hard.Reading the teasers the author had posted on Facebook sucked me in like nobody's business. I was so intrigued by the woman who was going to bring the Almighty Anthony Gallo to his knees. Max was definitely a woman with an attitude to rival Anthony's. She was very aloof and withdrawn, and gave him back everything he had ever done in spades. Karma was certainly a bitch to Anthony in this book. Max was a woman shrouded in mystery, and that was one thing that kept Anthony coming back for more. As a man who was accustomed to getting every woman he had ever wanted, Max's behavior intrigued him and turned him on.This book had some crazy long, crazy hot sexathons. It was intense and uber-steamy. The sexual chemistry between these two was explosive. There were some very funny moments involving sex and family members, although I can't say more. Let me just say that the author is in great form with her humorous lines and family get togethers. There were some rather hilarious family introductions to say the least. This next part is really hard for me to write. I have rated every book in this series at 5 Stars because they were just that amazing. Each book took me on an incredible journey, and I enjoyed every part of them, from the writing to the characters and the love story. Unfortunately, I just didn't get that same feeling with this book. It was definitely a good read, but it didn't have that GREAT factor that I have loved from every other Gallo story. I felt that the love story was too rushed, and that the reasons for Max pushing Anthony away (her supposed reasons, and not the real reasons) were unsettling. I get why this may be an issue for some people, but I really didn't like this being thrown in here. I also didn't like that the differences between the two were mentioned several times. I get mentioning it the first time, as that is part of the story, and may be a big deal to some; however, I didn't feel the need to keep bringing it up. I also didn't care for Max for about 80% of the book. I never connected to her. I loved Anthony, and many times I wanted to scream that he should just let her go, and even when her background story was finally revealed, I wasn't fully committed to her. I just didn't really LIKE her. She grew on me more towards the end, when we saw a little bit more of her vulnerability and love for Anthony, but what I got from this story was more of a sexual chemistry from her and real love from Anthony. That being said, I really enjoyed reading about something unique and I love that the author put herself out there with something so personal to her. That part of the story was well written, and incredibly believable. I imagine that many of us would react in the same way Max did, while others would feel like Anthony did.I have been a huge fan of this series, and I admire the author's ability to make the reader laugh, melt, get pissed off, and squirm all in one book. The Gallo family will always remain one of my favorites, and they have a permanent home in my all-time favorite series. I was sad to see the story end, but I liked that the author included all of the Gallo family members in this last book so we could see where their lives had gone. The epilogue was fantastic, and brought the series to a wonderful end. We also got a sneak peek at the next series by the author, ALFA Investigations book 1: Sinful Intent. This series will be a spin-off involving another Gallo family member, so fingers crossed we haven't truly seen the end of the Gallos we all know and love. Lastly, I loved the personal note that the author included at the end, and it just cemented in my head why I find her to be one of my favorite authors. She is incredibly talented and so genuine. Even though this wasn't one of my favorite books by the author, I absolutely recommend it. It is classic Men of Inked style, and one you won't want to miss.

It’s a bitter sweet end to a series that I’ve come to love from the very beginning. The Gallo family has gone through its ups and downs, falling in love and risking their lives along the way. Now, it’s older brother Anthony’s turn and I have to admit, I wasn’t sure if I cared enough about Anthony to read it. He’s a cocky asshole and his motto is love ‘em and leave ‘em. He constantly made me want to smack him upside the head and I mentally thanked Joe every time he did it. I should have known that Chelle would prove me wrong.“Only I, asshole and cocky fucker to the masses, would fall in love with the one woman who wanted nothing to do with me.”Anthony, the oldest Gallo and the love ‘em and leave them panting for more hunk of a man, has finally met his match. Maxine is a no nonsense, not going to take your shit, kind of woman (think Izzy but sweeter) and throws Anthony for a loop, big time. The moment they touch, sparks fly, and Anthony knows that he wants her in his bed. NOW! He didn’t take into account that she’s the first woman who, after a serious night of hot and heavy passion, tosses him out on his ass and has him scrambling. Oh, I so love that he got a taste of his own medicine. She’s the first woman that he feels something more for and actually wants to date, not just hook up, and she keeps pushing him away. She wants the benefits without the attachment and keeps giving him excuses as to why they can’t be more. She tells him that her family won’t approve because he is white and she is black but when her mother comes over and speaks to Anthony, the jig is up since mom has no clue who he is and no problem with them being together.“I had accepted my future until I met you. Meeting you made me curse the gods and question my faith, Anthony.”“I didn’t do anything to you, but love you.”Max is running scared. She’s spent so long trying not to get emotionally attached to a guy and in walks this cocky asshole to make her wish that life was different. Now here is where my review gets just a tad spoilery but there’s no real way around it. Max has a reason for pushing and pulling Tony. She believes that not only is she protecting her heart, but his as well .Her father passed away from a debilitating disease and there is a chance that she can have it too. She fears falling in love with someone and being a burden down the line as the disease has no cure. My heart broke a little as Max is so scared of something that may or may not happen, but the death of her father, of him slowly and painfully passing, has scarred her. Tony is a Gallo, and he refuses to be dissuaded by anything, especially her stubbornness. She might try to push him away but he fights her tooth and nail to get her to see that even if some day she becomes sick, he will stay by her side. The Anthony from the prior books almost does a 180 when it comes to how he is. He’s still an asshole and cocky as hell but he’s found his other half and hell if he’s giving her up. Oh man. I totally never thought I’d say this (or rather, write this) but I love Anthony. Yup, I just said it.I have adored this entire series, every page, every character, beginning to end and Mike might have to move over as favorite Gallo. I love how the book ends and we see a few years into the future with the family growing and each of them having kids to give them hell. I so hope that we continue to get novellas of the family. I would love to read Christmas with the Gallo’s or something equally awesome. I am sad to see them go but excited for Chelle’s new series as there will be glimpses of the family.

My mother always told me that the best things in life needed to be earned and not given.Thankfully, Anthony Gallo took that advice to heart because boy did Maxine make him work for EVERYTHING when it came to spending time with her, breaking down her walls, and making her admit her true feelings for him.But if there's one word to describe Anthony, besides asshole, which seems to be most females' word of choice for him, it's definitely persistent. And little by little, with his tenacious and perhaps at times manipulative ways, he found a way to get to her despite the lies, secrets, and bitchiness she used to deny him on a habitual basis. On the surface, Anthony doesn't seem like a complicated man. Sex, work, family, and having fun have always been the name of the game for him, which has been only further solidified as he's witnessed his three brothers become pussy whipped by their women. He refuses to fall into that trap and can't understand why any male would willingly choose that route. But everything changes when he meets Maxine and realizes that for the first time, he actually wants more from a woman that just her body, and even if she denied him the first twenty times, there's no stopping him from claiming what he wants because a Gallo doesn't go down without a fight.I have to admit that it took me awhile to warm up to Maxine. I absolutely loved that she refused to give into Anthony's charms at the beginning and called him out immediately, but the way she treated him throughout the first part of the book didn't set well with me, even though her reasons made sense. I think it was difficult to accept because readers were given Anthony's point of view and witnessed his changes right from the start, so we saw what her "games" were doing to might also be because he's a Gallo and I've come to accept that the "one" is just supposed to take off her panties and let herself me claimed;) Regardless of that, though, Anthony kept fighting for her and working to get through Maxine's walls, and their connection was something that she couldn't deny no matter how hard to tried to, and when her truths are revealed, Anthony continues to step up for her, which only endears him more to readers.Anthony and Maxine's sexual and witty banter makes Without Me a great read and the fact that Maxine keeps Anthony on his toes throughout the entire text proves that she's just the woman to bring him down a few pegs and realize the kind of life his brothers and sister have is exactly the kind he should want. Their life together is never going to be easy because they're both strong willed and passionate people who aren't afraid to tell it like it is, but it will definitely be worth it because that intensity Anthony and Maxine have for each other both in and outside the bedroom is what will see them through even the most difficult of times, which is showcased a bit in Without Me.Chelle Bliss' Men of Inked series is about family, sacrifice, and most of all, love. I loved watching the Gallo siblings succumb to the kind of love and life they never really saw coming, but once they realized it was theirs for the taking, they were all in and fought every step of the way.The Gallos are definitely a family to be remembered, and if readers haven't meet them yet, now that the series is complete, there's no better time to be introduced. Readers will go through all the feels with this series, which makes it must read.A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.4.5 poison apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - I hate writing a bad review but I could not connect with these characters & there was one scene that bothered me. Anthony is almost 40 years old so he is long overdue to find love & end his man-skanking ways. He has no idea why beautiful dark Maxine is off men but since no woman so far has pushed him away he is very intrigued. Max is sexually attracted to Anthony & it doesn't take long before they are in bed, finding out they are crazy good together, only to have Max kick Anthony out of her house the very next day, just when he's wanting more than a one night stand. "I'll hide in the shadows. I'll be your dirty secret." It isn't the race issue, the bad boy skank issue, the a**hole issue - Max has a medical problem hanging over her head like a dark cloud & she refuses to drag a man into her bleak future. Max's concerns were predictable so it didn't come as a shock. One beef I had with the story is that Max & Anthony fall madly in love, but as a reader we don't bear witness to what might have caused them to fall in love. We read scene after scene of hot sex & that's about it. And we read a million times about how big Anthony is with his piercings & all. He is overly cocky & I loved that his love for Max throws him for a loop. I have to give Anthony a little credit - he is all in with Max no matter where life takes them. No one's health is ever guaranteed! "No matter the results, I want to go on the journey with you. It's taken me my entire life to meet someone who makes me a better person, and I want you to be mine forever." I love how Max describes Anthony, "You have a perfect mix of a**hole & lover." Now at the end of a book that is just ok for me since I'm not totally digging Anthony & Max, we come to a scene that made me steaming mad. The Gallo's & Washington's are gathered for a celebratory dinner & an old screw buddy of Anthony's is waiting on their table. They are so rude to Candy, cutting her off, ordering to have a new waitress, don't want any trouble or anything to upset Max. WTH!! Anthony slept with a million women & now he is acting all high & mighty? He actually called Candy the last time for a casual hook-up which is fine since everyone knows the score. Candy doesn't even seem to be anything but professional before they shut her down. Their treatment of Candy was mean & unwarranted. Anthony led that life for 20 some years & didn't feel ashamed of his behavior. So that's the end of my rant but it really bothered me!!!

http://www.guiltypleasuresbookreviews...It is sad when a series that with each book you have loved more and more comes to an end. I will admit in the beginning I wasn’t sure if I would really like this series as much as I have but when I am wrong, I will admit that I am wrong and I am so glad that I kept reading all about the Gallo family because if I had given up I wouldn’t have fallen in love with the Gallo men and women as must as I have.We finally get Anthony’s story. You know him the final hold out on love, the man whore, the one who sings in his band? You know Anthony, the one who gives Suzy so much shit about how much she is eating while she’s pregnant. You know the asshole Anthony? The one who falls totally and completely in love with Max, the woman who has him going insane one minute and wanting inside her the next. Oh you don’t know that side of Anthony? Well you really should pick up Without Me so you can watch the final Gallo fall. This one has a different feel to it from the very start. I will straight up say that I didn’t like Max very much at first, but then you get to see more of who she is, more behind the attitude, more behind the woman who finally brings Anthony Gallo to his knees. Be prepared because this isn’t a sugar sweet story, not in the slightest. It will make you shed tears of happiness and tears of sadness. It will have you wanting Anthony to walk away from Max one page and praying that he never does on the next.Chelle Bliss, you won this reviewer over by with your alpha males, sweet and sassy females, and with the perfect ending to a series that I am very sad that is over. You have a fan for life in me, and I personally can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next. Congrats on ending this series with a book that means something important and gives us an insight into your life as well.

Arc was kindly provided by the author in exchange for an HONEST review. This was the perfect ending to the Gallo's series. Chelle has served us readers well with this one. Anthony is the consummate playboy, loving his life: work, women(lots of them in all shapes, colors and sizes) and family. His perfect trifecta. Always the first to put down the idea if being tied down to one woman and finding his siblings changed because they've all find their "one". What happens to the person who thinks their life can't get any better because they have exactly what they want? The get side swiped by something they never thought they needed. Enter Max and all her attitude and bravado. She couldn't have been a better foil for Anthony's plans and life. The way that MS Bliss wrote there exchanges was such fun to watch. Max keeps Anthony on the ropes and he's really got to work for it! Max has some issues that she must come to turns with so she can fully accept that Anthony is her true other half. Anthony is confident that that are meant to be. Will Max get out of her own way to find a future with Anthony? Will Anthony have faith enough to stay the course and see Max on the other side? Does Max make it to Ma's for family dinner with all the Gallo's?? You're going to have to jump in and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed!!Loved reading every second of this one. Happy Reading~ SherryEmail: jezabellgirlandfriends@gmail.comWeb: http://jezabellgirlandfriends.comFB:

Without Me by Chelle Bliss is another amazing read from her Men of Inked series. Anthony is the last of the Gallo children to get their story. And let me tell you this book was well worth the wait. In so many ways this was so very different from every other book in this series. Written from a special place in the author's heart it was easy to tell by the poignant notes this book struck within me. Anthony has never had a special lady in his life. And he has been very happy in his life with women passing through it all the time. He loves his time spent with his band and at Inked, the tattoo shop he owns with his siblings. So when he meets Max and she throws him for a loop with the connection he feels -- all bets are off. Anthony goes all out in his pursuit of Max, something brand new to him. Their relationship goes through ups and downs as they push and pull each other. Max has reasons to push Anthony away, that I completely understand, having lived through a similar situation. (Not giving away as you should read and experience...) And Chelle Bliss writes her insecurities and emotions realistically. I appreciated this unique take and bit of true life in a romance book. Now while this book was different than the rest of the series it also had many of the things we have come to love from the Men of Inked Series - strong, rich characters that are so well developed you feel like you know them and are a part of the family, steamy hot sex scenes, great romance, great friendship and a loyal family.Without Me is book 5 in Chelle Bliss’ Men of Inked Series, and it may just be my favorite! Don't miss out on this book or this must read series!I received a Complimentary Copy of Without Me from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Read for ByoBThis was the bittersweet ending to one of my favorite series. Even though there was a hint that we will see the Gallo's again, seeing their official stories come to end was a bit sad.Anthony has always been the older brother who balked at his siblings being tied down. He never wanted that life for himself, he was too selfish, too self absorbed, too in love with the idea of being single and being able to who and whatever he desired. Until he gets a taste of his own medicine. There were hints to his woman troubles in the past few books and I was eager to find out who had his panties all twisted. The source of his demise comes in the form of a little women who has way more bite than he does. Maxine or Kitty Cat wants nothing to do with Anthony. So much so that she doesn't even give him her real name. She blows him off, is aloof and tries everything to make him go away. That is all in their first meeting, needless to say their "courtship" is an adventure.Secrets are harbored, emotions are high, attitudes are given and somewhere along the way love is found. These two couldn't be more perfect, neither looking for a relationship, both not willing to an inch. This was probably the most emotional of the Gallo books and I found myself completely absorbed in their story, wanting to know more and laughing at the things that came out of their mouths. My favorite part came at the end...years later...and it was perfect.

I fell in love with the Gallos. Ms. Bliss is able to pull us into their lives and their stories with ease - or so it seems. I can picture Ma Gallo the matriarch, feeding her crew on Sundays. Without me is the story of Anthony and Max. The last Gallo Alpha male to fall and boy did he fall hard. He met his match in Max as she fought him off and kept him at arms length. She treated him like he'd been treating women since his 20's. Without me is well written, but it's a "good-bye" and I don't know if anyone else will feel that when reading it, but that's what i got out of it. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but Max has a secret that she's keeping and it is the reason she keeps Anthony at arm's length. The author talked about this subject in a way that felt to me like it was something personal she knew about/was dealing with and as such was handled so beautifully. In addition, when Anthony finds out, his unwavering support brought tears to my eyes. On a side note I had to add that my heart went to a literal pile of emotional mush when Anthony held Suzy and Joe's baby. A heartfelt and awesome story about Max and Anthony....I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about a hot alpha male, an incredible Italian family and how they fold the "newcomers" into their family.

I just finished Without Me and I just loved it! This is apart of the Men of Inked series and can be read as a stand alone but honestly to get the full effect I recommend reading this in order. This is the final in the series and I say that she left the best for last. This was who I was waiting for. Anthony is the oldest of the Gallos and the most stubborn, if you can believe that! They all are but he is the most stubborn for sure. He believes he is Gods gift to women and I'm really sure he is but all it takes is one woman to knock him on his ass and Max is the lucky girl that gets to do it. She is feisty and ballsy and just plain amazing. She gives it to him just as good as she gets it. Their banter had me from the get go and I was very entertained and enthrall we with watching their story unfold. That's the one thing for me that Chelle does. Even though there are so many characters, she keeps them very distinct and memorable that you just can't help but care what happens to these people. You want them to have their happily ever after. She just writes them from the heart and honestly she just can't do wrong in my eyes. You have got to give this series a try. Trust me, you'll love being apart of it!!Story 5Sex 4Overall 5Reviewed by Shay from Mommys a Book Whore

5 "You just never know" Stars!O.M.G. This one has been the absolute best of the series so far!!! I didn't even care about Anthony's story. I was the least curious about him. Even after we got snippets in the other books, I really could have cared less. Only reason it landed in the read pile, was to get the bread crumbs for other characters. But WOW, did he not only surprise me, his story with Max kept me Enthralled, still on the edge of my seat & the only one so far to make me cry! I wasn't prepared for all the feels. This one will Def go in the favorites folder! Whatever you do, DO NOT SKIP THIS BOOK!!!Each book in the Men of Inked Series is an Ineterconnected Standalone. Yes, it can be read out of order (why you would read out of order in the 1st place is beyond me) & can be read separately (omg I did not just say that!), but your reading would be enhanced tremendously by reading the entire series in order as there are scenes with the other characters that are not included in there story. Ms Bliss has outstanding talent keeping all characters story going throughout the series! She is a master storyteller of the highest order!Without Me was given courtesy of Chelle Bliss & received on behalf of Country Gals Sexy Reads Blog in exchange for an honest review.
