After a failed relationship drives him from his hometown, he finds his way into the city only to discover that life doesn't often turn out how you'd like.Working at a strip club, The Treasure Chest certainly isn't his dream job, but it pays well. Everything is going along fine until he meets Terrence LeBrec, an older man who shows up one night out of the blue. Terrence is rich, laid back, and as the chemistry between them erupts, it also surprises Danny that he's attracted to a man who otherwise isn't his type.Terrence only went to The Treasure Chest to pass away time. He never expected to meet anyone, but when Danny takes the stage, he's totally taken with the young man who he knows nothing about. He has to meet him. There's something definitely between them. Terrence can't deny it. They have a connection that he can't let go. One hookup leads him to want more.It doesn't take a lot of time for Danny to realize how different their lives really are. Why would a guy like Terrence who has everything going for him be interested in a guy like him? It doesn't make sense. They come from different worlds—perhaps too different. Will what brought them together tear them apart? They're opposites in every way possible. Will love conquer all?...

when you least expect it Reviews
**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**Sadly, I'm disappointed that I couldn't like this book more.I liked the sound of it, when I started- I was liking it and even though I was into the characters individually, when I got to them interacting after their night together, I felt they didn't actually connect. Throughout the book, with their interactions with their friends (each talking about the other) and them actually interacting, it all felt disconnected. (view spoiler)[Especially even though while pursuing each other, they both had sex with another person. In my opinion, people who are interested in a specific someone, don't go and sleep with someone else while claiming they're falling or could fall for this person... just because.Though, I do get Terrence doing it more than Danny simply because this was a guy Terrence had been planning a future with. Obviously they had chemistry and in the end it was... well.. the farewell.Danny, well.. Danny was a whole other issue as I saw it as a violation. I especially didn't like that Danny was so ... I guess nonchalant about the fact that he was pretty much raped. That's a strong word, very strong, but I think it's appropriate for what happened. The fact that he has no memories of the event or of the actual consent, and pretty much knows he was drugged because of lack of memory after a certain point, is assault. Because, for me, even though the intent was certain, that he did want to just fuck this guy, probably did have all the intention to, but when the act finally happened, he has no memory of it. For all he knows, he would have regretted it and the moment they got into bed, he would have said, no. Done. Wouldn't have happened and so, you know... the fact the choice was taken from him because he was drugged, is assault. Of course, not to mention the fact that he has NO CLUE if the guy used protection!! The lack of concern for his health was annoying to say the least. I wish he had at least gone to the clinic to get tested immediately after he concluded he was drugged and DOESN'T KNOW if they guy used a condom! To add to everything else, the fucker stole his money! I just felt he brushed it off too fast without any real emotion into what I would consider a violation. But then again, that's just me and my opinion. I guess he's just that strong of a person/character that he didn't see the fact that he was drugged and then in that state was made to have sex as a violation.... Maybe he thought... that because when he met this guy, he had just made the decision that he just didn't care and that because he DID have the intent to have sex with him, even though he was drugged, that it wasn't rape... I don't know... but I didn't like that whole section/chapter one bit. (hide spoiler)]But I digress, I just felt that the whole book was more of a big prologue to them deciding that they wanted to become a couple than a whole book of them finding their HEA. You know what I mean? Because in the end it all feels too new with many more challenges ahead than, "all this happened and now we get to spend the rest of our lives together"I guess especially because it skips several months to how they're an established couple now that the ending feels more rushed and incomplete. It totally left me wanting more and thinking that somewhere, I lost the whole middle part of the book.Still... it IS a part of a series.. so I hope I catch a glimpse of them in the other books as side characters.. maybe then I'll feel a more complete closure.
I received this book for an honest review: The relationship between Terrence and Danny was kind of an on again off again until they could finally come together and make it work. Single rich guy Terrence just happens to be in the strip club and meet poor stripper Danny while he was working. This is definitely a case of opposites attract, but neither of them cared what the other did for a living, they just knew that there was something that clicked between them when they met. There are also some other good characters in this book that I am hoping will lead up to their happy endings. I am also wanting to know if Teddy is actually Ted and whether or not that will come back to bite Danny in the butt.
I just cant finish this book...its written pretty poorly. Its just not very interesting at all! The sex is ok but the actual romance is pretty terrible. The story kind of jumps around from scene to scene but nothing ties them together. i bought this book plus the following two books in the series bc they sounded so good...but now im afraid i wasted my money :-/
Eh...I got a bit lost in it all. Short, but all over the place. The relationship really didn't have time to pan out and marinade. I think there could have been a spark had it all not seemed so rushed.
Terrence's friends suck & it seems to me that if all your friends are asshole snobs, you probably don't disagree with them too strongly, or else they wouldn't be your friends. I couldn't see why Danny and Terrence were together other than the physical. Not a happy ending I am confident in.
