Oh my god, I loved this book! It started out a bit slow for ne but then the whole story really started to build and I fell in love with all of the characters! A bit of an emotional roller coaster with all of the drama that goes on but it is what makes the story great!Esme is not the type of girl who likes to go out and party, but when her friends drag her to a concert one night she never imagined her life would change!Jax is a lead singer of a band that is back home and settling down for a while with doing local gigs. He has his girlfriend along with him and believes life is great, until he crosses paths with Esme and things start to change for him. While reading this book I felt like I was a person sitting at The Archer watching it all unfold before my eyes! It was a quick read but just enough detail to make you envision everything. Absolutely loved it and cant wait to start book #2 bc I cant deal with how this one ended ;)

Rocking Esme by Kacey Hamford is about a girl who is finding herself and finding love. But, like life, things are complicated. Esme starts working at a bar and it begins to bring out the woman she is. A member of the band befriends her and she falls for the lead singer. But, the complication is that he’s in a relationship. The closer they become as friends, the harder it is for her to be around him. Then he finds out she kept an important secret from him and everything changes.I enjoyed reading Rocking Esme. I had a hard time putting it down because I had to know what was going to happen next. The book has realistic situations and well-developed characters. I’m caught up in Kacey’s great story and am already reading Rocking Scarlett. I have to know what’s next.Put the books in The Rocking Series by Kacey Hamford in your TBR list and read it!

Rocking Esme is book one in the Rocking Series. Esme is your average woman, though she is some what different to her friends, being the nerdy bookworm and preferring a night in with her kindle then a night on the lash, but when she turns the head of the lead SEXY as SIN rocker from a well known band, will she be a goner for him? This particular rocker is in a long term relationship with a girl who's just in it for the fame. She's vindictive and spiteful. But will Esme Black capture his heart as she did his? I LOVE ESME! She is amazing, she reminds me of me, always stuck in a good book. Her easy personality and happy go lucky form is one that will captures every readers attention. All the characters have little traits that make them unique in a sense. I was captured from the start. Loved this book!

I enjoyed reading this book, I couldn't put it down (read it in one day). You meet Esme who would rather stay home and read her kindle, her friends talk her into going to a Flix concert, where she see's the hot lead singer Jackson (aka Jax). Flix ends up playing gigs at The Archer where Esme works and she becomes good friends with Jax.Jax is in a long term relationship so Esme keeps her feelings for him hidden. She starts to see things that could change her and Jax's relationship, what will she do? This is a must read series. Note: have book two on stand by because you will want to read it immediately to see what happens.

I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review. It is a short story that I was able to read fairly quickly, it pulled me in and I found myself wanting to know what happens next. I loved seeing the relationships develop throughout the story, and all the twists, turns and obstacles along the way.... I really enjoyed it, however, I found it to be a bit repetitive in parts, the characters very needy and there is an overuse of the sentence 'I love you' throughout. Overall I liked the book and moved straight on to number 2 'Rocking Scarlett'! A nice quick, easy read.

Was okNot much drama or angst, well there was but I found I didnt get pulled in and hadn't connected with the characters. Its was a bit like a tennis match between the two characters were you slowly watched how it would play out only to finish with a cliffhanger. Each character had their own pov which was good you got a better idea of what was going on in Jax and Esmes head and also others friends etc.

I was gifted a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. This was a fun fast paced drama filled rock star story and I loved every minute of it. Read it in one sitting I couldn't put it down. Told in multiple POVs this story follows Esme and Jackson and the craziness that seems to follow them in the form of Jackson's crazy ex girlfriend Cindy who to me was a nutty b***h. We are left with a cliffhanger at the end and I'm looking forward to reading book two.

Wow, talk about sucked in. You meet Esme and her girls. Then you meet Ajax and the lads from Flix. Sexy rockstars I might add. Loved the friendship that was built with Jackson and Esme before things turned sexy. The easiness of their relationship in the beginning is amazing but in true book fashion, things go South quickly. You are almost to slap Jax a few times, believe me I wanted too. More spanners are thrown into this story and you are left on a cliffy...... Onto book #2

Once I'd got into the book I couldn't put it down. The characters pulled me in hard. I love Esme she's typical girl starting out, finding out who she is then meeting the rock star that would change it all.The story flowed well and I was left wAnting book 2 straight after.

Once I got to know the characters, I fell for them and hard. What a wild cast! Definitely someone to love and someone to hate! A hot and steamy read at times for sure. Oh and the cliffhanger ending! I must get my hands on the next book soon!

This one was not a bad read. I really like the set up of this shy girl meeting and falling in love with hot and charminng rockstar. The writing was just young and sometimes made reading painful.

Loved this debut novel. As a first time effort, I loved it. Especially the way you looked at each person's POV. Most writer focus on the main characters but you made the dynamic work with all of them.I loved the innocence of Esmeralda and the sweet, caring side of Jax. With added sex appeal of course.I will be getting book two as soon as I can, because I really hope things work out for Jax and Esmeralda. Are Rick and Marcey going to be ok?And do we find out if Will picks either Danni or Kate? Or does Danni finally relent and get herself hot and sweaty down the gym?Oh and just as an aside. Cindy... What a bitch!

I was only able to read 2 chapters before I stopped reading. It is solely based on sexual interactions, little character build. ugh.

Rocking Esme (The Rocking Series) by Kacey Hamford2 StarsEsmerelda isn’t your typical sociable young woman, she would much prefer to stay home curled up with a good book, so she is fairly reluctant when her friend Kate drags her out to a concert and on to a club afterwards. On the up side Esme quite likes the look of the lead singer Jackson so all is not lost! When later in the bar, the girls bump into the band and Jackson offers to buy Esme a drink in the VIP lounge things get a lot more interesting for her. Over the next few months Esme and her friends build a friendship of sorts with the boys and relationships grow hot.The basic idea for this plot is a good one, not very original but an age-old story that would make any romance lover swoon. Unfortunately the execution of the plot is not that great and a number of things let the story down.Firstly, the dialogue was very unnatural, especially during the sex scenes, phrases like ‘Grab it and rub it Cindy’ made me groan out loud, it just did not sound right or feel natural!Secondly, we were told everything and shown nothing, I hate list like writing so when I am given sections where every sentence begins the same it isn’t long before I become angry that the beta readers/editor/proof readers etc, didn’t point these habits out to the author so she could fix the problem before it was published…Example:- We arrived……. We let ourselves in…. We headed straight for the kitchen……We made our way across the kitchen…. I held his present out to him, blah-de-blah where is the flow? Thirdly, the sex scenes, oh my! I know it must be hard to write a great love scene, to convey emotion to the reader and to paint a picture in words of this ‘wondrous’ act, but in a book like this, with so much sex, it really needs to be right, and it wasn’t right here. It was wooden, mechanical and bad, I put my arm here, her leg was there etc (not those exact words, I’m exaggerating, but do you get the picture?)Lastly, multiple POV’s are great, because when written in first person information is limited so looking at things from various characters gives us the bigger picture and lets us know what is happening else where, but… arrgghh! Writing a scene from Esme’s POV and then following immediately with the same scene from Jax’s including the exact same dialogue is just repetitive, plain boring, and unnecessary. Change POV’s to let us know what is happening when the characters are not together, not to tell us how the other sees the situation, we should get that information from the subtle looks or actions of the other person. So overall the story was great but the flow needs work, I’m sure a good content editor could work wonders with this book, it has the basics but definitely need a polish!Copy supplied for review

I really wanted to like this book. I liked the premise, nerdy, shy bookworm falls for the up and coming rockstar. The potential was there, it just fell flat. The writing was not great. Transitions between scenes and chapters were choppy, the dialogue read like it was written by high school girls. Very immature. There were no contractions used in the characters conversations, it didn't have a natural flow like a real conversation would. It felt robotic, like a computer wrote the dialogue. It was obvious that the author is from the UK, in the way words are spelled and certain phrases used. I had no problem with that, but she should have had someone outside the UK do a read through to make sure what was written, was understandable to all readers. I found certain phrasing confusing. I still have no clue what the characters look like, they were never described, their clothes were as was the bar and the restaurant they ate in. I like to know what the characters look like it helps me visualize the story. It also ends with a major cliffhanger, if you want the complete story you'll need to buy the second book.

This book had me torn. One the one hand I liked the story. I guess I fell in love with Esme when she was reading one of my favourite books ;) it was easy to connect to her and as far as romance novels go, she was a stable character, whose action were sane and relatable. On the other hand the story screamed "unfinished" to me. Some of the action was too fast, the changes too quick and I thought "wow wow... slow down and explain what's happening". E.G. Esme is a shy girl who hates going out. So her friends drag her to a rock show and she falls in love with the lead singer in about one page. Maybe I am just slow? I would have loved the story to be just a tiny bit more elaborate on the whole, so the reader would get to know them better. The story over all is your usual girl meets rockstar story so far, I am looking forward to the next one. 4 stars, because I liked the story, but the characters and story overall could use a little more polishing.

Esme loves rocker books. She gets dragged out to clubs and the local bar, The Archer, by her girl friends but she would rather be at home, reading in her pyjamas. Life changes for her when she gets a job behind the bar at The Archer where the band Flix have a regular slot. Esme gets noticed by the lead singer Jackson, but he has a spoilers. The story is told from different view points which works okay but, for me, chops up the story and doesn't give the characters much chance to develop. The story is sometimes a little slow. Though not my thing, the sex scenes are well written. Personally, I have a problem with the lack of thought given to safe sex but it's not a bad read and the characters are well perceived and believable. This is a youthful read...maybe I'm too old to enjoy it properly so, if you enjoy rocker books about bands and clubbing, you'll enjoy this one!

Great book, beware only book 1 is in KUI read Rocking Esme as a part of a KU challenge. I was quickly drawn into the book, and loved the story. Esme is kind-hearted and a bit sheltered thanks to her big brother/guardian. Jax is a rockstar like no other. After much drama and bumps in the road Esme & Jax are drawn to each other after the end of Jax's 8 year relationship, but that is far from the end of the problems they face. This is a great 5 star Rockstar book. It ends on a cliffhanger, which I wasn't thrilled about, but I could deal with. What annoyed me, was that after the huge cliffhanger, I went to get book 2 only to find that it is not enrolled in Kindle Unlimited like book 1. So here I am, left with this great book and huge cliffhanger ending, and no way to continue it. I should have double checked like I usually do that all the books would be available, but I guess I figured that if it was in the KU challenge that the whole series would be too.

I loved this book. Esme is a bit like all of us sat at home reading our kindles (or other appropriate devices) but going out to a gig and working in a bar open her up to new people and new experiences. Such as the delicious Jax. But things are complicated especially when Jax is in a relationship. I really loved reading this book and time flew while reading it, i love dual POV narratives as i like seeing what the other person thinks of a situation. I got to the end of this book and had to read book 2 asap :)

Esme is the girl we can all identify with a little: she’s more at home in her PJ’s with a good book in hand than she is out painting the town. Jax brings the rocker element, and his girlfriend, Cindy, is a complication for the pair, as well as the girl we’d all love to punch.Rocking Esme is a nicely paced read told by dual points of view, but be sure you have the next one ready on your reading device, as the cliff-hanger will leave you wanting more.

Shy girl meets Rocker.I liked this book it had a great set of characters and storyline and lots of drama. It was a bit fast paced at the start of the book but once the story start to develop it really started to come into its own the author did a great job in building and developing not only the main characters but all of the them.Looking forward to reading more from this Author.
