Some spoilers below but nothing to much since you find out very soon in the book. All seriousness I was not expecting what I just read. Once I finished with the first scene I sat there... thinking.... more thinking.... Coming to term with what I just read, and still seating there thinking once again what the fuck just happened. I didn't expect it really. I mean, I thought about it but really did not think this chick is a killer. I didn't really know what this book was about expect that Jolene enjoys her privacy and that someone is sending her strange letters in the mail and knows her secret. But who would of thought her secret is that she kills people. Not just kills people because they are bad or doing the goodness of her heart. Killing people cause she gets off on fucking them and cutting their throat open. This is two books in a row for me being in the serial killers head. I had to stop and think what the fuck is going on with me these past two days. But honestly I did not expect this book to be about that. BUT,it was very good. It's dark and twisted just the way I like it. Jolene is, sorry to say it but a bad ass. Weird? Nah.... What it did to me though is left me open for the next book. It kind of leaves off a cliff hanger. I did have an issue with the first scene though. I do not think it was necessary to add the guys POV into the book. It re tells the first scene where Jolene and him meet. I don't think it should be there. But other then that it was a very enjoyable read and looking forward to what this author does with the next book. I have it in my mind what is going to happen but not sure.Copy provided by the author for exchange for an honest review.

Psychotic and hilarious is a beautiful combination. ❝It was Thursday night and so of course the frat boys began to flock into the local bars like beer was going out of style. ❞That’s prime hunting time for our black widow heroine, Jolene. Have you ever seen the movie AMERICAN PSYCHO? Well, imagine the odd humor that entails and make the psycho a woman who loves to have loads of sex, throw in a dash of BASIC INSTINCT and you have ALL OF HER MEN.Jolene has a really big secret, but somebody is on to her and she knows it. I found Jolene’s character to be incredibly ironic and I found that I quite enjoyed that. Jolene is a cold-blooded killer, but she has this insane need to belong and that made her character likable and appealing to me as a reader. I hate that she is a psycho, because I really kind of like the crazy bitch. New author Lourdes Bernabe has an interesting way of delivering rhetoric that sometimes sounds more like a punch line than a statement and I really enjoyed her unique style. There’s a lot more to the story that needs to be told and I can’t wait for it. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end and that almost made me blow a gasket, but from what the author says, it looks like we can expect a second installment by the end of 2013 – yay! ALL OF HER MEN is a great choice if you like a little humor and sex mixed in with your crazy – I am definitely a fan of this new erotic thriller series.✳✳ Copy provided by the author/publisher for an honest review.✳✳ Reviewed on I ♥ Bookie Nookie Reviews___________________________________________________If you like this type of book, you might enjoy one of these groups. All of Her Men by Lourdes BernabeReviewer: Kris Rating: <3 <3 <2 ½ /5Erotic Thriller – What had I expected when I saw that label? Well, truthfully I am not sure. I have read many things labeled ‘Erotic This’ or ‘Erotic That’ and I am also a fan of thrillers. Therefore, it seemed it would be perfect for me. To be completely honest with those reading this (and that is what was asked of me) I feel this was a snuff film set in book form. Gender reversed and from the killers POV.I have read some strange things in my life. Some for reviews and some out of morbid curiosity (FSoG)… I can honestly say I have never read a story quite like this one. Based on the innocuous description I read I was in no way prepared for just how morbid this book would be. Perhaps I am naïve and that shouldn’t be counted against the author. My review is less about the stories content and more about characters, though. We begin in the story with Jolene getting ready to go out. Out on the hunt to be precise but if you are like me you probably assumed that was some playful euphemism for picking up a date or a “booty call”. I guess in the basis sense that is correct… I digress; from the beginning she comes off as very vain and I had a hard time liking her at all. Jolene begins to get notes and packages all dressed in black that imply that someone has seen her in the act. She is obviously spooked about getting caught – still no remorse, but for the fact she may be caught. I know SHOCKER (we are talking about a cold blooded killer here, right?)!By a third of the way in I did not like the character any more than in the beginning, in fact, I liked her less. In the age of ‘Dexter’ I want to like my serial killers, after all you have to give me some reason to come back for more next week, or in this case, book. They need some redeemable quality makes them human, something that gives us some investment in their getting... I don’t know – saved? Jolene to me was a self centered, vain, bitch of a serial killer. She preyed on young men whom she could easily lure into having sex and her other extracurricular activities (that’s what we’ll call them). All the while she has a pretty great boyfriend, Eric, who she hasn’t allowed to move in because she takes off in the middle of the night to partake in these extracurricular activities. She is pretty rude to him, too.Over half way through and I still had no love for Jolene. Maybe I was never meant to. To me though, if you want me invested in your book you must first make me invest emotionally in your characters. Yes, intense disgust is an emotion, but not the kind I need. And that is where they lost me.This was a well written book. For someone who likes this kind of story this would be a winner. A morbid winner. I’ll even say that I would possibly read others from the author if the content was different. A little too in left field for me to truly enjoy. That’s not to say there isn’t an audience for it.

Jolene has a secret. It's a very dark secret. She is certain no one knows it. She finds out differently after a particularly satisfying evening with a man she picks up in a bar. Details are important to Jolene. It's the details that make her secret even more gruesome and dark. She's happy with her boyfriend but she needs this outlet too. Will her two worlds collide? Can she keep her secret? Don't let the title keep you from reading this one. While there are some erotic parts, the book is a fantastically written thriller. You'll be looking over your shoulder as you read this one. I found the character to be quite like-able despite her secret. Check this one out, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I did find issues. It was a little slow moving in parts and a couple of the characters really seem to have no reason to be in the story. I gave this one 4 cheers out of 5 because of the issues I found. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

Many of us have pivotal moments in our lives, but rarely are they as profoundly life-changing as the one Jolene experienced. When she was six years-old Jolene killed a girl that was annoying her, and she enjoyed doing it. To compound the impact on the mind of this budding sociopath, she got away with it. After all, who would ever suspect a six year-old of murder?Lourdes Bernabe’s novel All of Her Men focuses on Jolene twenty years later when she’s leading a double life in which her “normal life” includes a secure job with the IRS and a relationship with a patient and understanding boyfriend who puts up with her bossy nature and disquieting mood swings; her not so normal life involves frequent sorties into the night to find prey in order to feed her nearly incessant desire to kill. For the most part this story is told from Jolene’s perspective as she wrestles with the demons that drive her violent activities. Early in the story, after a recent kill Jolene’s life is turned upside down when she learns of secret admirers of her murderous exploits. She is invited to meet and hang out with the members of an informal serial killer club, all of whom are male, who look upon her as the queen of their realm.Being a hard core loner, Jolene isn’t particularly keen on socializing with her fellow psychopaths. And besides, she is looking for a way to conquer the evil within her. She doesn’t want to engage in activities likely to perpetuate it.While out prowling for a new victim, serendipity comes into play, she makes the acquaintance of a somewhat edgy psychiatrist. She begins to cultivate a friendship with him in hopes that he can make her whole, or at least more able to control her urges. It would appear that she has a lot of work to do in that regard, though. Indeed, after a female friend orchestrates a scenario in which they engage in Sapphic sex while manipulating two erstwhile male suitors into performing homosexual acts with one another, Jolene experiences a deadly relapse with her anger management problem. Apparently, where this thread leads and how or if any of Jolene’s issues will be resolved is to be revealed in a sequel or sequels. This book ends with Jolene discovering that her ne’er-do-well brother has been found dead, his body unceremoniously deposited in a dumpster. It would be safe to assume that more roadblocks likely are ahead for Jolene’s mental health improvement plan as she processes this development in her life.As Jolene tells her story she reveals a hint of Dexter in her personality, although by no means does she direct her dark passenger toward eliminating bottom feeders from society like he does. But like him she is cool, calculating and dispassionate as she plans and executes her missions. She also has his macabre sense of humor regarding her victims being clueless about what her intentions are. All of Her Men is a well-written and original book that has the potential to find a broad audience. Although Jolene does heinous things to unsuspecting men (mostly), she is drawn such that readers can sympathize with her dilemma and hope that she really does find a way to be cured despite her actions clearly indicating the unlikelihood of that happening. As much as I generally dislike serialized books, I look forward to the follow-up to this one; I want to read more about Jolene’s tortured journey and diabolical exploits. The author shows a lot of promise. The story itself is delicious and juicy. There are good things about the book, and a few things I see could be corrected. Let's start with the good.-I don't prefer first person because it usually takes away everyone else's thoughts but with this story the writer cleverly switches point of view between characters in first person. - very good first person from a man's point of view in enticing a woman- writer knows how to engage the reader- great realistic dialoguesome things that could use fixing- grammar-sentence structuring-character development-more likeable/disliked characters. (some of the guys seemed like disposable douchebags, meh)Overall, a good, juicy read and I expect the author to improve her craft with the sequel.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.I don't do spoilers. So I can't describe this book in any way without giving away some key element. I will just say this. I was not in any way expecting what I just read. Shocking, intriguing and just plain what the hell did I just read? But I could not put it down, and now can only say Where the hell is the next book? I need it! This book stays with you, well past the end of it. You sit there for a while thinking did that really happen? Oh yes it did happen! It was so different than anything I have read in a long time, and that's saying something, cause I read a lot! I would definitely recommend this book. It's a must read!

4.3 Star Review – All Of Her Men My Review ---> http://bit.ly/1htC3qQI recommend this book.I enjoyed this book by Lourdes. This book includes passion, heartache, murder and a kidnapping.Jolene is forced to do evil deeds that she tried desperately to suppress. When she can’t suppress them she needs to spend a lot of time primping, getting her makeup, outfit, hair, and shoes just right to be noticed immediately but forgotten just as quickly. She is going out to hunt. To hunt what you ask? A man is what she will hunt. She needs to kill while she is having an orgasm to suppress her dark side. For this particular hunt she has chosen Paul. Little does he know he might leave the bar with the prettiest girl but really one he shouldn’t have picked up in the first place! He thinks he can take her to the beach and show her off to his friends. Too bad he doesn’t get the chance. Only when her sexual appetite and a killing are performed together does it feed the darkness inside her. Since she brings a kill kit with her to every kill she always cleans up swiftly. The killings don’t just involve the kill you have to get rid of the body. She carries a meat cleaver for breaking down the body easily. She has many ways of disposing of the bodies. Which way will she pick for Paul? In reality she has been killing for over 20 years. Her first kill was a girl while on a field trip with the school. They were both 6 years old. The girl would not stop yapping and being a bully to the other kids. So Jolene snapped her neck. She learned throughout her years that if she killed during sex she quelled the thirst that consumed her. After every kill there is a calm that comes over Jolene that she loves. She has a boyfriend but does not consider all the sexual killing that she does as cheating. Since she does not love those men she can have sex and kill them without cheating. She does love her boyfriend so he is safe from being killed so far.The only problem is with this last kill is someone saw and is now leaving creepy notes on her door. Black paper notes with weird messages on them. Who could be leaving the note and are they friend or foe? When she gets a dated note and a knife she thinks she has an admirer. At a gentlemen’s club one night she meets Bill a well-dressed man who sometimes scares her and other times her dark side wants her to sleep with him and kill him. What will she do? Is Bill so special that he gets to live? Or will she listen to her dark side that wants her to bed him and kill him? After a weird incident with her best friend and two guys at a spa she now has thoughts of killing her best friend. She starts avoiding her but when that does not work what will she do? Can she really kill her best friend?Someone else in the town is killing good looking men and it’s all over the news. Who could it be and how can she stop them from killing her men? As the killings get closer to her area will they kill someone she knows or cares about?Just to let you know this book has a “to be continued…..” ending so look for the second book. The darkness that surrounds Jolene is explosive. The killings don’t go into a lot of gory details. You feel at times in the book that Jolene’s mind is confused and it makes the reader confused. I almost thought she was dreaming at certain parts when she was not. You almost wonder how the heck she was able to kill the first girl by breaking her neck. Had a hard time believing that could happen. But you never know right? I still found the book to be a good read.

When I was asked to review All of Her Men by Lourdes Bernabe, I was super excited. The main character, Jolene Hedon, is basically a praying mantis in a smoking hot female form: she has sex with her victims and then brutally does away with them. Don't get me wrong, I love a studly alpha male lead character as much as the next girl. But a female serial-killing sex addict? The premise sounded fresh and intriguing. I couldn't wait to dig in!Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for this book ended with my pre-reading anticipation. Ms. Bernabe wrote a story that had endless potential, but it all just fell flat for me. To begin with, there was an abundance of typos and grammatical errors, to the point that they began to interfere with the plot. As a fanatical reader of books written by indie authors I have become accustomed to overlooking the occasional they're/their/there-type error. A major issue I had with All of Her Men was a chronic lack of quotation marks between lines of dialogue spoken by different characters, so it was often difficult to determine exactly who was speaking. There were, regrettably, a multitude of other errors as well.My main roadblock to enjoying All of Her Men was the main character, Jolene. Going into the book, I wasn't expecting to actually LIKE her (she was, after all, a serial killer!). But I was hoping to at least "get" Jolene a little. I wanted her to have at least one redeeming quality, to feel a little conflicted about this woman who seemingly lived a normal life while killing men in her spare time. I didn't. At all. Jolene was seemingly brilliant to be able to pull off this endless string of crimes, but she spoke and acted like a teenager. Jolene's longtime boyfriend Eric was sweet, gorgeous, and endlessly patient. She never failed to behave like a total bitch to him though, and I did not get at all why he would choose to be with her. Furthermore, it was never fully explained in the story why Eric was the one man Jolene was not compelled to kill. She was a completely unsympathetic character and the fact that the story was told from her POV did nothing to alleviate this for me.There were a large number of characters who were introduced in All of Her Men that appeared briefly and then weren't mentioned again, including a "club" of serial killers. This lead me to feel sort of disconnected from the story. By the the time the book ended on a major cliffhanger, I no longer really cared what happened to Jolene or any any of the other characters. I will not be continuing on with the next book in the series. All of Her Men could have been a fantastic book with a lot of possibility. Unfortunately, it just wasn't that book for me.

This is one of those stories that stays with you. For a VERY long time. In fact, I was just driving home from work the other day when I saw something that reminded me of this book and I wondered how much longer it's going to be before the second book comes out. I knew that All of Her Men was an erotic suspense novel from the synopsis. What I did not know is that I would thoroughly enjoy, like, and relate to Jolene. I felt sorry for her when she was contemplating her sexual dysfunction. I was in awe of her relationship abilities and the normalcy with which she lived her life. When she startsedto receive the strange letters, I was scared for her!! For her! Not for any of her men, no. I did not feel a thing for them, only for Jolene. At more than one turn, I did not see what was to lie ahead. I was excited, anxious, and on the edge of my seat holding my breath and hoping for Jolene to be safe. And the END?!?!?! OMG, the end was gut wrenching and shocking and left me begging for more of the story....Ms. Bernabe has crafted such an amazing heroine that the reader is able to look past any dysfunction she may have, and connect for her, empathize with her, and yes, accept her for who she is - dysfunction included.

I will try not to write any spoilers. The book wasn't what I thought it was going to be about. Unlike other books the erotic level of the whole thing is like oh I am eating something delicious and keep turning the pages. But I couldn't put it down. The whole story line was pretty original and well written. The deeper I read into the book I started thinking this should be on tv. You don't hear about too many people with this "condition". So I was intrigued. Cant wait for the second one. I think I know who it is but I will have to wait and see!!!

I really hate to give low reviews but this book didn’t do it for me. I expected way more and it wasn’t at all what I imagined it’d be. I don’t shy away from cruel scenes or stuff like that but what I’ve read wasn’t really mind-blowing. It didn’t make my heart or pulse race or shocked me –not even when she had the encounter with Paul (sorry can’t spoil it). The story had lots of holes in my opinion and many situations didn’t make sense or where unbelievable. Like when she knew with 5/6years that she was born to do what she’s doing now. Come on, that is just wrong and not believable.I felt sorry for her boyfriend. She was such a bitch to him and he didn’t even deserve it – honestly, I don’t know why he was in the book at all or why he stood with her. It confused me.Another thing that was a bit off was the fact she got kidnapped and I thought “Oh wow cool, now it’s getting interesting etc.” but nope, this group of men didn’t really play a big role in the book and I asked myself, again, why the author did include them. It took me way too long to finish the book but when I finished it I asked myself if book 1 maybe was just an introduction to everyone and their relationships or the plot itself. If, well then it still was not holding my attention. The ending was just weird, cliffhanger yes, but plain weird and I totally didn’t understand why the author is pulling things out of nowhere. Like I said I hate to give low ratings but in my opinion the story lacked on depths, meaning, and action. I expected somewhat a thriller but it was more the opposite. The reading flow was off and I read several books in between ‘cause All of Her Men didn’t hold me attention. **But just because this book wasn’t doing it for me, doesn’t mean you won’t like it either**___________________________________✦ Read all my review (A-Z) on the blog✦ Like the blog on Facebook

Full Review can be found on my bloghttp://foxylutely.blogspot.com/2013/1...3.5 StarsThis is a difficult book to review as in order to give the reader the element of surprise that happens about 5% then I would have to not say anything about the ‘activities’ of the main character – Jolene Hedon. Suffice to say it shocked the pants off me.This is a dark erotic thriller that really grabs you by the neck and shakes you into submission. I was reading it but I didn't want to read it the further I was getting into it. The thoughts that were running through my head was a whole bunch of WTFery.Jolene, would on the outside, appear to be a beautiful and sexy young woman. She adores her boyfriend, family and friends but her deepest, darkest urges are the ones that she keeps secret and only the very few and misfortunate ones find out. Or is there another out there that knows all about Jolene? Well it appears there is as she starts to receive cryptic messages in classy mysterious black envelopes. All pertaining to and hinting that she is being watched. If you are looking for a light and fluffy romance or even a sensual and erotic sexfest where we all run off skipping into HEA land at the end then please step away from the kindle. This is not what this book is about. Yes it is erotic, yes there are romantic interludes between Jolene and her boyfriend, Eric. But it is the darkness that I find way too disturbing to try and let those aspects try to sway me. This is heavy and intense. Jolene has a seriously dark and altogether scary sexual deviance. This book had me questioning my values and why I would have empathy for a character such as Jolene. But guess what? I did! Oh my word.If you are looking for an original plot, a mixture of reading genre with a touch of malice, then I would recommend this book.

Wow. Just wow. You think you know what you're getting yourself into but you have absolutely no idea. I can honestly say I've never read anything quite like this. All of Her Men is twisted & seriously disturbing. It's an absolute page turner in the truest sense of the word. The story plays out like a movie on the big screen, all you need is some popcorn! I think my eyes were bugged out the entire time I was reading b/c I was literally on the edge of my seat waiting to see what Jolene was going to do next. She was seriously unpredictable and so unbelievably dangerous. The planning & detail behind every attack showed exactly how cunning and predator-like she is. She's always so cool, calm & collected that you would never suspect what lies underneath...a monster. It's no surprise that I enjoy dark, edgy drama that pushes the limits of your comfort zone & makes you question your own sanity. I feel like that's exactly what the author accomplished here. Ms. Bernabe did a fantastic job of getting inside the mind of a serial killer & exposed how a warped mind (that of a serial killer) can be so disgustingly intelligent and meticulous. This story was beautifully written which sounds odd considering the content but it's true. She has a way with words and her writing style is truly one of a kind. She will grab hold of you from the very first page and keep you enthralled until the very end. I may have occasionally forgotten to breathe in between scenes, it was that intense. I would definitely recommend this book to those who love crime thrillers with an erotic edge. It's not for the faint of heart so consider yourself warned. Be prepared to have your mind absolutely blown.

2.5 out of 5What the fuck did I just read? I am torn about how to address this one. It wasn’t bad, but for me it wasn’t really good either. The storyline is a little disturbing and didn’t feel like it was going anywhere. It’s supposed to be an erotic thriller and one reader said, “It’s like Dexter meets Fifty Shades.” Um, no. One is about a likeable serial killer and Fifty is Fifty but also a love story. For me, All of Her Men did not live up to what other reviewers said. I am still undecided on whether I even liked the main character, Jolene. Her actions and her outlook aren’t really ones I could root for or even understand. The writing is pretty good, but the author really needs an editor to help clean it up. Usually I can overlook a few mistakes, we are only human, but the mistakes in All of Her Men were distracting and I think with some polish the book would have had a better flow. There were parts that were very well written and even erotic but the lack of redeeming qualities in the main character and the lack of a central plot to keep you interested made it hard to feel invested in the story. And then it had a cliffhanger. Since I am still not sure where the story is headed and I just never got attached, I will more than likely never read the next book. I would consider something else written by Lourdes Bernabe if it had a synopsis that gripped me just to see what else she can do, but this particular story just didn’t do it for me.

The book chronicles the dark side of Jolene, secret serial killer. Within the first few chapters, I knew this girl was twisted and sick as her POV delved into her thoughts as she pursued the high of killing men whom she lured with sex. Her dark side was not visible to her close friends or family which made it even more bizarre. The story was well-written and I felt myself pulled, however reluctantly, toward the end which left me hanging. The depths of evil in Jolene made it impossible for me to connect with her and her reason for killing was…well there wasn’t one. I won’t give away anything further in the plot but suffice to say, it unnerved me. I’m tempted to read the next book when it comes out but am also afraid…very afraid. I can’t imagine Jolene becoming more twisted! Final Review Rating

I had to think about this one for a few days before writing a review or starting my next read. The premise is strange & I disliked the main character but yet I couldn't quit reading. I felt there were several story lines started that were just dropped. The typos drove me crazy but I still kept reading. Jolene's secrets are deep and disturbing so be prepared for that going in. All in all this is a nice read.

I read this story because it was offered to me free and I thought it was an interesting concept.I don't care for books told in the first person and I didn't like it in this one either. The murder and sex scenes were not descriptive enough to me while the descriptions of what the character was thinking at any given moment were too descriptive. And just a spoiler it's the first in a series so there's a hanger at the end.

Can't get past the first 10% and first kill. It. Is. BORING!! It's like- when you're a kid and your parents get you all creeped out for a haunted house- but then take you to the haunted mansion at Disney instead. Lame. I figured- that since in the first damn chapters she's telling us what she likes to do to her men that it'd at least be a bit more creative. But sadly no. After that abysmal start, I can see myself wanting or caring to know what happens next.
