I have a bad feeling about that ending... I mean, there's a murderer out there, and she leaves the safety of the pack... c'mon girl, you could've pretended to like the pack! This didn't feel like another BOOK to me.... it just felt like an 'in-between' chapter... nothing interesting goes on.____________________________________ one dark and mysterious, yet perhaps the perfect confidant; the other ferocious and forbidden--a werewolf that she can't keep her hands off of. Everyone always say the forbidden love always wins against the fated love... and I abso-fucking-lutley adore Justin, but for some reason I'm thinking she ends up with Trick. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with that guy, but I think she has more spark with Justin, a helluva lot more spark! and his motorbike... *sigh* there is nothing sexier than a guy with a motorbike... nothing! (I am not shallow! I swear ;])

I liked the characters even less in this book than I did in the last one (other than her grandfather- he's pretty awesome). I am reading the series for the thrill, though, not the characterization, so that's alright. What I see in a lot of the other reviews has really surprised me. Many reviewers say Trick is 'mysterious' and 'hiding something'. Um, yeah. His name is VLADIMIR. Has no one else considered that he might be a vampire?! Or in the very least not human. He is extremely wealthy, his parents are never around (I feel like I've heard this one before)... Yeah, so he's kind of young for a vampire. But this wouldn't be the first young vampire in YA literature. Maybe vampires are 'born' like humans in this series. He also spazzes out every once in a while- like that time at the dance- and there is still no explanation. Typical supernatural behavior. His godfather (view spoiler)[ appears to be some sort of werewolf hunter. Remember the enemy of my enemy thing...(hide spoiler)] Oh and the werewolves really dislike him with no explanation (so far), and have hesitated before calling him human or a boy. I think the least of our worries is good ol' Vladimir getting bitten.

For more reviews and competitions go to George's Bookz and Bitz***This is book 2 in the series, major spoilers for book one are likely***I liked book 1 (Unleashed) it wasn’t a page turner were book like Raised by Wolves but it was an easy enough read. Holder and Viguie had gone back to a classic type were story, and it was fun. I was looking forward to book 2, there was plenty of story to build on and to take the next level, but I was disappointed. Which I hate. Hot Blooded follows Katelyn’s transition into werewolf, and into the Fenner pack. Cordelia has been shunned, and its all Kat’s fault. Add to that Lee Fenner’s mental deterioration, her immunity to silver (which only Justin knows about) and her attraction to both Justin and Trick and she’s in a heap of trouble. Kat believes the only way to get Cordelia back is to find the mine (and the hellhound she insists exists), but she has to do so whilst keeping her identity a secret from her grandfather, Trick and the town. Additionally the Fenner’s insist she is trained, and brought into the were world, where things work very differently. Secrets are uncovered, loyalty tested and time is running out.....It all sounds great, but its not. Kat is meant to be finding the mine to save Cordelia but she does bugger all about finding it. She occasionally looks in a book, or has a sniff around but thats it. More time is spent on Kat, the term ‘me, myself and I’ suits her, she's unlikeable, selfish and brattish. Trick or Justin. Justin or Trick. and round again. What happened to the strong, feisty Katelyn from book 1? Then there’s the wolf pack. The whole issue about dominance which instantly puts my back up. We know I love wolves, and I study them a lot, and its apparent that neither author bothered to research their pack structure, dominance relations or communication methods, the Fenner’s are nothing like a wolf pack. I could go on and on about it, but all the book has done is anger me, Holder and Viguie have just reinforced the stereotype that wolves are driven by aggression and dominance, and violence (lets not talk about the pack murder in this book, it makes me seethe). The writers attitudes towards animals are obvious from the line about the gator’s eyes showing no intelligence, just intent (or something along that line), what a presumption to make, and once again reinforcing a stereotype of an animal that really could do without the bad press. The book took me an awful long time to get through. It wasn’t entertaining, it was slow to build up, and nothing really happened, there was a bit of a ending/climax but it was something I’d of expected in the middle of a book. I am seriously disappointed, Holder in particular was always a favorite of mine, and this time she’s let me down. I gave the book 3 stars, but writing this review I’m going for 2. I cannot think of anything good to say about it. Book 3 is off my list I’m afraid.

4.5 starsSo, so, so GOOD!!!I didn't want to stop reading, and yet I didn't want to reach the end. Kat, now a werewolf, has become a more solid character. She fears for the lives of herself and her grandfather if she doesn't do as the alpha says. Unfortunately, this is made extra difficult by the fact that the alpha is suffering from dementia and a lot of his decisions are crazy. Cordelia has been banished from her pack for keeping Kat a secret from her dad, the alpha. Now Kat can't have any contact with her, can't even speak her name for fear of her life, and she's alone to deal with this pack, most of whom would have preferred the alpha to just have killed her. Cordelia goes to the alpha of a rival pack whose alpha, Dom, is in love with her and marry's him, causing the Fenner alpha to declare war on them. I felt I got to know Trick and Justin a lot more in this sequel, and while I now love them both, I can't decide on my favourite. I think we know any mystery there was surrounding Justin but Trick is still a conundrum. I feel there's more to him than we're seeing. The same with Kat's grandfather, he seems to have a lot of secrets too. Especially with the revelation about Kat's dad's death. The war between the packs happens at the end of the book, and is just chaos. People have died, and maybe even more than I know about when they eventually regroup. And to add to all the questions that I'll have going into the next book, this ends on a massive cliffhanger. I can't wait to get my hands on the third book. And I feel this is one that's going to be hard for another book to follow. Awesome!!!

I liked it and can't wait to see what is to come, but I wish Kat would have stuck up for herself more. Hopeful she will not die by the hellhound (sorry spoiler), but I think she needed to use her secret weapon better than she did. I do love not really knowing where this story will go next that is what made this a wonderful 2nd book. Thanks for the series, keep it up!

I thought that in this book the love triangle would be resolved, well 'love' isn't the right term...more who will Kat stay be with.I keep wanting to like Justin, but the whole wolf and Lucy aspects kept getting in the way. But I still don't like Trick, there's something off and fishy about him? I keep getting odd vibes from his character. In the end off the book I really thought Kat would just end up and obey Justin or become his mate/girlfriend, but instead she just ran. That's were the cliff hanger left us...Kat also said that she loved Trick and was planning on running to him, which I find really annoying. This is because Trick can't know that Kat is a werewolf, Kat nearly at one one point in the novel bit Tick. If her saliva got into his bloodstream he would change into a werewolf. Which is bad because Kat would off had no permission from the pack leader and she may be banished from the group altogether or even killed. So her running from Justin, who she was attracted too, and going to Trick has completely changed and possibly ruined her life? Because I was lead to believe a werewolf survives better in a pack and won't go rouge? I felt really sympathetic towards Cordelia, but I think she will be maybe excepted back into the pack in the next book or rewarded with forgiveness because Justin is now pack leader, and he wanted to keep Cordelia alive and safe.

I had been waiting a whole year for this book after reading Unleashed last Christmas. It ended on a huge cliffhanger so I couldn’t wait to find out what was next for Katelyn. The story began with Katelyn having a nightmare (her nightmares were a recurring theme throughout the book) and this confused me a little as I couldn’t figure out the meaning of it. Then came some brief reminders of what had happened previously, it was at this point that everything came rushing back to me and I was swiftly transported back to Wolf Springs.Katelyn was adjusting to her new life as a werewolf and all the changes that went with it, she was confused by her feelings for Trick and Justin and I have to admit that I really loved this side of the story. It was a classic love triangle – Katelyn and Trick seemed natural around each other and he had the whole cheeky boy-next-door thing going on, but Katelyn and Justin were electric together and the sparks between them practically jumped out of the page at me. This was very exciting to read and I found myself switching opinions on who she should choose throughout the entire book!Another thing I really liked was that I could never predict what was coming next – it kept me on my toes throughout and I felt like I was constantly searching for clues to find answers to the many questions I had in my mind. The darkness and danger from the first book continued into this one with the murder count rising and no-one actually knowing who, or what, was responsible. There was much more about the history of the werewolves in this story and I found this particularly interesting as I attempted to fit the mysterious pieces of the puzzle together. The storyline was intense and exciting, the intensity built throughout until it reached the final showdown and this resulted in yet another cliffhanger ending. I just didn’t want it to end and I’m so sad that I have to wait until next year to find out what happens. This was a fantastic book which I ended up reading in just one day because it was utterly unputdownable and addictive.

Kat now a werewolf has to learn the ways of her pack, but it's pretty hard when she feels no loyalty to The Fenners, she definitely has no love for Cordelia's awful sisters Regan or Arial or their Alpha Pack father Lee Fenner who turned his back on his own daughter, Cordelia. On top of all the constant rules and training that are put upon her she has to constantly watch her back and make sure The Fenner pack don't take out her (basically a mistake) and her Grandfather because he could learn the truth. The only person who seems to be on her side is Justin, but can she truly trust him? She has to constantly fight off her attraction to him, because he is already spoken for, but Justin seems to be the one going after Kat. On top of all her double life as a werewolf she has another person to protect Trick, who she seems to really want to be with, but can't because of her secret life. And she still has not found the werewolf who attacked her or learned anymore of The Legendary Hellhound. And all around her bodies keep building up. Can Kat escape Wolf Springs or is her destiny now with The Fenners.I enjoyed this book even more than the first. There was never a dull moment. There were some interesting secrets revealed, but still a lot more to learn. The only complaint I had was with Kat's flip flopping between wanting to be with Trick than not, then maybe Justin. I'm all for a love triangle I think it makes things more interesting, but it got a little too much. I'm still hoping Kat will end up with Justin. But the end of the book leaves everything up in the air and I am so looking forward to it! Werewolf Genres now officially have a place in my heart!

I was really disappointed with this book sadly to say :-( I read Unleashed a couple of years ago, and I decided to pick up the series again, the first book was good but this book just went nowhere for me. One big problem I had with this book, was that I could not remember anything from the first book, I was left to try to remember the characters again as it made little/no reference to past events, it took me quite a while to get back into the gist of things.I didn't really care for Katelyn or any of the characters in this book, I got really fed up about hearing kat's gymnastic dreams and talents :-/ The relationship between Kat and Justin, and Kat and Trick, went absolutely nowhere, there was no actual bond. We learn absolutely nothing about Trick and Justin's personal lives, it's almost like they're their for convenience, they just pop up randomly throughout the story, their is no passion. It was so annoying, the plot just went nowhere, Cordelia also just popped up randomly yapping about finding that mine. I would not recommend this book, the first book was dead on, but was severely let down in this one. It wasn't helped by the Cowboy language, I just find it so cheesy, along with the cowboys boots :-/

Wow, Hot Blooded sees Kat trying to deal with being a werewolf and the Fenners. We dont see too much of Trick which is a down side but the book has so much suspense and mystery that I loved it. The ending though was killer!!!!

Still can't get the image of a naked Lee Fenner out of my mind- my fault, not the author's. What is Trick? What is the hellhound? What does grandpa know? This author leaves the reader in pain and suffering at the end of a book, asking lots of questions...

I loved the continuity of this book. It's the second one in the series and it's obvious by the way the author writes it. I basically read this book in the span of a few hours because I didn't want to put it down. I'm looking forward to seeing how things end in the next book as it should be the last one of the series. I like the interactions between the characters and I can't wait to see how they will continue.

INCLUDES SPOILERS!!!!The wolf spring chronicles!!! Book #2 Hotblooded. Here is where Katelyn has recently turned in to a werewolf through the bite of an unknown, insane werewolf that's on the loose, an Unknown force which is uncontrollable and frightening. Now she carries the creature curse in her veins. Wolf Spring is the heart of where werewolf reside. The Fenners being one of them. Katelyn must struggle to resist the 'inner wolf' urges, alongside being drawn to Trick and Justin. '' should she follow her heart- or her instincts.'' Hot blooded, I gave 4.5 star. I dearly wished that I gave it 5 but it just lacked of 'something' that made you want to either put the book down or read it over a couple of times. I chose the latter. There was no improvement in trying to find out who bite Katelyn nor where they even a step closer to finding the mine. BUT even though these distinguishes have been discovered, the lack of the above was replaced with a TWIST which I did enjoy!!!!! I can honestly say, hand on my heart that this was a better than the first book.. We found out more of the Fenner's clan and at the end seen a side of Mr Lee Fenner which I thought I'd never see, ever! He may have been like that just because of the new discovery, that Katelyn was immune to sliver. Which can be a fatal death for ANY werewolf. Or maybe it's just sheer luck that he's finally seeing the side of Katelyn that was always masked by the whole 'her being the lowest rank than them all'! I'd leave that job to my imagination to fill in the missing gaps!!!Moving on to the twist of the threesome loving!! Human Katelyn loves Trick - her first friend when she moved in to Wolf Spring and hated by a lot of kids but loved by her Grandpa 'Mordecai McBride'- HOWEVER Werewolf instincts of Katelyn loves Justin, wants Justin and wants to be with Justin. Justin a younger brother to Jesse, cousin to 'her' (Cordelia shhh), son of two dead parents and mated with Lucy! Quite a lot of roles there ay. But he's also drawn to Katelyn himself. This is somewhat a double life that Katelyn has to live alongside the fact that now she has to mated to another werewolf by Mr Lee Fenners choice! This book has taken a lot of turns that i really enjoyed reading and actually looked forward to. Mainly the fact that Justin had to train Katelyn himself, which helps you to realise that he has also lost a lot and wants a change with who runs the pack and who becomes the new Alpha. lots of secrets revealed which will leave you wanting more!I could go on and on about Justin and Katelyn, mainly because I want them to actually get together. Trick is a nice guy, he's always been there for her but there are times where he just pushes her away for no damn reason (book1) which I find really annoying. He's secretive but not that luring in as Justin is, with he Ohh sooo sexy motorbike. Come on who doesnt like a guy with a motorbike! Therefore I stick to Justin and Katelyn. Hopefully sooner or later they will meet, but just like they are waiting to finally see and feel the real spark which i can see, then so can I!Ends with some really sad parts, deaths of may from the Fenner Clan. (not going to say who! I really want to but no) the ending really will get to you. Full of mixed emotions which will tear at you until the last part is read. You will be wanting more. Becauseeee of the cliffhanger!! Omg two cliffhangers in one row I guess the anticipation of waiting is going to drive me crazy *faints* but it will lure you in and make you count the days down till the release of book #3.Over all this book was amazing with the fact that she's finally mingling with her grandpa and they're actually getting closer but secrets will always be the centre of the thing keeping them apart. Silver bullets, thats right! In the garage of the secluded house of Mordecai McBride. Family secrets come to end of being a secrets, the knowledge of the existence of werewolfs is strong in the McBride family. Read it to see how and why!! Honestly the best read since this year has started. Great start to the year. Great cover. Lets rephrase that 'AWESOME COVER' showing exactly the difference of what might happen. Purity of being a human in book one cover, but bounded too darkness with the inflicted fatal bite turning to a werewolf in book two! Awesome. Awesome. Awesome! This book is a great read. If you haven't read either of the books in The Wolf Spring Chronicle, why wait, read it now. I recommend this book to all you book lovers!!

  • Jessica (a GREAT read)
    2018-12-11 19:08

If I thought my memory was poor from Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie's Crusade trilogy, it was really poor with the Wolf Springs Chronicles! I had some recollections but not a whole lot. But once again, once I started reading the story, little details came back and Hot Blooded soon became a very enjoyable read! There's still a lot of weird stuff going around Wolf Springs, two young girls were killed and Cordelia is "missing", adding more worry to the town. Although, Cordelia has been banished from the town by her own family. And still, the body count continues to rise.Katelyn is struggling to adapt to her new life as a werewolf and continue to keep it a secret from her grandfather and Trick. It's hard going, since she has to spend a lot of time with Justin, who is training her in the ways of being a werewolf, getting used to her new abilities and all that. Which brings us back into the love triangle territory, although you would think there wouldn't be much of one since Justin has a girlfriend, but there you go. Trick is so sweet though, I definitely like him better than Justin. The way I look at things, Kat is attracted to Trick and wants to be with him, and yet it seems like her wolf is attracted to Justin and wants to be with him. The two parts of herself are warring with one another and it is likely that someone is going to get hurt. What's so different about reading this series is that compared to the other series these authors have co-written together, this one is all from Kat's point of view in the third person. Which can be a mixed blessing, since there's not a lot of stuff happening with a lot of people, but still a lot goes on in this 400+ page book!As I mentioned earlier, there are still murders and disappearances going on in Wolf Springs and there's no culprit to be found, but it is likely a wolf doing the killings since the bodies have been mauled. And then there's the mystery behind the wolf who bit Katelyn, could it be the mysterious Hellhound that guards the lost silver mine? So many questions and mysteries and still there are no answers. You might be wondering what does this novel focus on if there are still so many unanswered questions. Well, besides going deeper into those mysteries and Katelyn learning about how to be a werewolf and pack hierarchy and all that jazz, there's also friction between another pack and the Fenner pack that involves Cordelia. I don't want to get into too many details for spoiler reasons, but this was a pretty good read.At times the pacing got a little slow as Katelyn did some mundane teenager things or was just training, but Nancy and Debbie are definitely building up the tension and the mystery while the mundane happens. Assuming this is another trilogy, I cannot wait to see how things get resolved in the next one. I've been making some speculations about this or that and I really want to see if I am right or close to it!As for romance, this book has quite a bit. There's the not quite romance but budding romance that builds between Trick and Kat coupled with the fiery passion that blooms between Katelyn and Justin. Although, I again don't really care for the Justin and Katelyn angle, I guess because Justin has a girlfriend--a fact that does come up between them, they just choose to ignore it. I don't like cheaters and to me Justin is cheating with the few kisses exchanged and Katelyn is no better since it takes two to cheat. But again, I really think it's more of their wolf sides that are attracted and connected to one another. I don't see the same heat and passion as their human selves that Katelyn and Trick seem to share. The ending was really good! It was nice big action-y scene that ends with shocking results. And the final ending, uh...not cool! Cliffhanger!! It took too long for release info on this book to come out, I fear the length of time I'll have to wait for the next book!Despite a few issues with the pacing, this was still an incredible read! Katelyn is a pretty enjoyable character and I adore Trick! Hoping that they get a HEA ending together by the end, sorry Justin! If you're looking for a paranormal YA series with mystery than this is one series you might want to check out because there is a lot of mystery and secrets in this book!Overall Rating 4.5/5 stars

    2018-12-06 00:10

I have so many things to say about this book, i was worried it wouldn't be very good as the first one wasn't amazing. But this one turned out to actually be a really fun read, i finished it quickly.First of all the main character Kat grew up a lot in Hot blooded, i felt her personality and indepnedance grew much stronger. She seemed able to get herself out of bad situations and didn't really need anyone to save her when push came to shove. Kat also proved how loyal she is as a friend, to Cordelia especially, she was supportive and seemed to genuinely care about what would happen to Cordelia. The whole background of the wolves was interesting and quite orgional but still keeping in tune with a lot of wolf legends, i liked the idea of packs having different beliefs, a very human thing. Also the whole hellhound and silver mine part was something im glad Kat explored. I am really wondering who the hell this hellhound is, can it even turn into human form like normal werewolves, and what exactly is Kat. Considering Kat can pretty much almost change at will and is impervious to silver she obviously isn't a normal werewolf either. Kat went through a lot of moral dillema's in this book, she was practically almost forced to kill more than twice. Then when Kat found silver bullets in her grndfathers garage things got even more intense.Kat was struggling to hold on to what was right and wrong, also we found that Kat's father had been bitten by a 'wolf' and then shot with a silver bullet a year later. I think Trick has more to do with the story than is being let on, the way Kat keeps taking about that bit of blue in his eyes bothers me, i don't know what to think about him, he's still so mysterious.Speaking of Trick, the "love" triangle really heats up in this one. Kat and Trick have quite a few really amazing moments in this book that make you feel so sorry for them because they cant be together. I'm still wary of Trick because he is very mysterious, am i the only one wondering WHY Mike hated him (note i said hated not hates as Mike dies in this one, cue shocked face). And what about that girl, Becky, who was brutally killed, the one people say he led on, from what i've read Trick seems a little dangerous and reckless but i think he's a good person at heart. Trick really does seem to love Kat, and i think Kat loves him back (well they did finally admit they love eachother and all that romantic can't live without you stuff) which i secretly love im almost ashamed to say ;). Then there's Justin, we all know Justin is the the gorgeous biker werewolf that sets her blood on fire, but they also have a growing friendship, although at the moment i think it's true what Kat says, that her and Justin aren't in love the way she is with Trick. But only time, and by that i mean another book, will tell what is going to happen. In my opinion though Trick is the mysterious, impulsive and 'in love' one and Justin is the dangerous, desired and protective one.It could end up going either way in this love triangle which i like as its boring to read about a love triangle where you KNOW which one she will end up with.So anyway, all in all Hot blooded was actually pretty brilliant and i cant wait for the third book to come out. xxx

Bam! Katelyn's life is messed up before she was even 18. Katelyn, who was attacked just after she moved in with her grandfather, is now carrying the werewolf curse in her blood. Cordelia was kicked out just because she kept Kat's secret from her family. Knowing that she and or her grandfather could be killed or kicked out if she told anyone about werewolves. Now Kat is living in fear. Wouldn't you?Kat has to go into the woods with Justin (Cordelia's Cousin) to know what to do as a werewolf when the full moon happens. She also learns her new skills: strength, speed, sight, and hearing. She isn't a normal human anymore...she is an animal in a human form. But she's not alone because Wolf Springs is where werewolves lives. Kat tries to find out who bit her, but everyone swears they didn't bit her at all. They are not happy that Katelyn is now a werewolf. Changing humans without permission from the alpha means death penalty. It is a one of the rules to follow. The only thing that Kat knows is that there's a creature on the loose that is uncontrollable. Katelyn knows it's power because it shared the part of the blood in Kat. While learning about herself. Kat learned that silver kills werewolf, but she is immune to it. There is a battle between the 2 werewolves packs who hates each other. They both have spies on each other to figure out who bit a human that broke the number 1 rule. No one really knows. knew that she was the Fenner's secret weapon to hurt the other pack. Two guys, Trick and Justin, really want Katelyn. One is human which she cannot do anything with except talk with. One werewolf who she can't stop thinking about. She is finding out who she really is now. Romance is very mysterious.Errrrrr! Kat finds the wolf, no one knows who it is, in the woods again. Her heart was beating to death wondering what is going to happen next like the night that it bit her. The creature attacked her without no doubt. The End. Is she dead or still alive? If you want to know what happened after the fight the packs, read the book as usual! If you want to know what happened to Kat after the attack, read the 3rd book which I'm going to! I love it so much that I can't wait to download the 3rd book onto my kindle! If you like werewolves stories, this book is the right book for you to read! Hope you'll read and enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you again Nancy for writing this book for us to read! Keep reading, readers!

Feels like nothing *really* happened in this book. Secrets and plot holes were *sort of* resolved. Hesitant to continue to the next book in the series but after the first book was very capturing I will finish the series out.Trick is a rich boy.Justin is a cheating irritating mess.Kat is *omg* abnormal. Cordelia doesn't have a back bone in this book and is spiteful for no reason. Grandpa is obviously a werewolf hunter and still hiding things.Oh and that damn elusive hell hound. Next book I hope.Very unfulfilling book. Still a quick read, but did not do much for the story line. Two sentences could sum up the progression made in this book, but I am keeping things spoiler free.

This review was written by Lenise Prater for Dark Matter Zine. This and more reviews, interviews etc are on Dark Matter Zine, an online magazine. http://www.darkmatterzine.com. Hot Blooded is the second instalment in the Wolf Springs Chronicles, a series about a teenage girl who has recently been turned into a werewolf.Kat is not like most other wolves in many ways – usually humans are turned into werewolves when a pack decides to bring the human in, and the human consents to it with full knowledge of the consequences.Kat was turned by a mysterious wolf at the start of the series, so her transformation at the next full moon came as a surprise. In this second book Kat tries to come to terms with her transformation, and to discover the identity of the wolf that turned her. To add to the mystery – this wolf must have special powers as Kat is immune to silver and can change into a wolf at will, usually a skill developed by much older wolves. In classic YA romance literature style, Kat has to deal with a love triangle in addition to becoming a werewolf; she is interested in a human boy and a slightly older werewolf. There is plenty of tension as Kat poses a real danger to her human partner, Trick, she might accidentally bite him and turn him. This is a situation made more likely by her lack of self-control as a new werewolf, something she struggles with throughout the book. Meanwhile, Justin, the werewolf Kat is interested in, has been promised to another woman. There is still plenty of forbidden sexual tension between them as he begins training her to control her new powers.Unfortunately, the development of the mystery is unconvincing, as many of Kat’s discoveries or realisations are sparked by events or information that seem only tangentially related. The writing too is a strange mix of styles from romance literature for adults and YA romance fiction, styles that are certainly related but the particular combination in this book doesn’t quite work, at least not for me. The Wolf Springs Chronicles is good for a light read, but doesn’t capitalise on the many interesting ideas still left to explore when it comes to werewolves in YA romance fiction.

It has been a little bit since I read Unleashed, but getting started into this book was hard only for the first few chapters. Once I got reacquainted with the characters and the story line, everything fell into place nicely. My issues with the book were that I felt like the editor did a really bad job at catching inappropriate shifts between first and third person, which confused me a couple times, seeing as how it is mainly a third person point of view book.I also was very irked with one scene, where Trick and Katelyn were running to the Mustang. It was called a car when they jumped in, but as they peeled out, not more than three sentences later, it was called a truck. That was a huge editorial mistake to me. But getting past minor grammar, shifts in PoV, and the car/truck issues, I really loved the book. I hated the love triangle aspect though. It reminded me of the Twilight series, though at least this main character admitted over and over she should be ashamed of herself, that this shouldn't be happening, and actively stayed away from both boys, romantically, for the most part. It was real tension between them, or at least as real as YA fiction can get when it comes to emotions of guilt, self-preservation, and shame. I felt like the character acted like a normal 17 year old girl would in her situation: confused, scared, angry, ashamed, excited, ...scared again, and unbelievably torn between her new world and her past. There were decent plot twists, some that you can spot right away, and some that take some puzzle piecing together if you want to figure it out before it is actually explained.I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the first book, do not try and pick this book up on its own, because it wouldn't make a lot of sense, at least not until a good ways in. It was annoying, thrilling, and a little intense throughout. A few times I actually sent snap shots of scenes to a friend to just "gush" over what happened, or rage over how I wanted Katelyn to get it together and pick a side. For me is was a really easy read, it sucked me in, and I spent about 8-9 hours from front to back. So 4/5 stars, taking one away because of lackluster editing.

Wow! that was...AMAZING! I can't belive the lady that owned the little shop is acuatly a werewolf for the other pack and she was just spying on the Fenners for the others!!!!! I did NOT see that one coming. And talk about getting a little weird and not so friendly on the info Ed! I mean yes I get that you want to keep Kat safe and all that but REALLY??!!! WOW! I CAN NOT BELIVE HE KNOWS ABOUT WEREWOLFS!!! THAT IS JUST----WOW! SLIVER BULETS AND ALL! And Justin... *shakes head looking down* yes we all know that you love Kat and want to keep her safe and all that. That's good and fine and what not. BUT WHY just WHY do you have to cheat on Lucy to do it??? I feel so bad for Cor. Seeing as she had to marry Dom anyways but hopefuly she's happy that their together. Although from the way it was she's not even though they are together now caz she wanted back in with the Fenner's even though her dad bassicley disowned her in the last one. But whatever... Anyways...... OH MY GOSH!! LEE FENNER IS DEAD! ((Or at least Kat thinks so seeing as she saw him having a fit in the truck after the big fight and then he was just still)) AND JUSTIN SAID THAT HE WAS GOING TO TAKE OVER THE PACK BEFORE WE WENT BACK TO CHECK ON DUG WITH KAT AND (WHAT'S HER NAME)? AND THEN KAT JUST RAN OFF LIKE THAT! HELLO! EARTH TO KAT! HE'D DIE FOR YOU AND HE LOVES YOU AND ALL HE WANTED YOU TO DO FOR HIM WAS KNOCK WHAT HER NAME'S OUT WITH THE END OF THE GUN HE HAD!!! INSTEAD YOU RUN OFF INTO THE WOODS AND NOW YOU'RE MOST LIKELY GOING TO GET KILLED BY THE HELLHOUND THAT NO BODY BELIVES IN! CAN YOU BE ANY DUMBER?? Anyways moving on.... Trick. I Loved him so much in this one!! He was soooooo sweet to Kat and everything to bad that they wont get to be together I don't think dew to her being a werewolf and all... So sad! And I soooooooooooooooooooooo hope he doesn't go down for murder! THAT would be so totally WRONG after him and Kat went though and everything else in the big ol' mess. But yeah I think that's pretty much it... yep!
